Summary: I thought this would be the whole Superbowl?
Review: As an Australian, I only get to see one football game live a year. That happens to be the Superbowl. The best Superbowl that I have ever seen. I was excited to learn that the DVD of this game would come out and was expecting the whole game. Especially after it was confirmed the U2 halftime show was included as a special feature. I was very dissapointed when I found out it had a review of all the Pats games and only a few minutes on the SB. Although the NFL Films productions are good. I don't think it captured the excitement of the game itself. I hope someone has the sense to release the whole game on DVD.

Summary: Excellent Super Bowl Winner makes for great DVD
Review: What an amazing season for my Pats! Whoot. Now I get to relive it on DVD as many times as I want.

And to the dullards complaining about the whole Super Bowl not being included...you need to check your skull for brain matter. The NFL has NEVER EVER put a SB on tape. They never replay regular season or post-season games in anything but highlight form. Sheesh, go away.

Summary: I got chills!
Review: Yeah, I know, it's a bit cheesey. However, I was one of the lucky few to go to the game in New Orleans and to see the Super Bowl highlights on the DVD, it was just amazing. The commercials that open the DVD are garbage and it's somewhat repugnant that they are there. They should have had more on Steve Grogan and what about John Hannah?! Why didn't he get a spot on there? He's the only Patriot in the Hall of Fame, he deserved a nice, long, spot on the DVD that showed his horrific hits -- esspecially when he caved in John Matuzak's face mask. Now THAT was a pull block! Anyway, Despite the above short commings, I love this DVD.

Summary: Worth it for a Patriots fan
Review: The VHS version doesn't have the U2 footage -- a disappointment for this U2 fan -- but it is otherwise a very enjoyable video, especially if you're a Pats fan. (If you're not, especially if you're a Raiders, Steelers, or Rams fan, save your money!) Fast forward through the hokey medieval metaphor at the beginning -- it's a little bit of an embarrassment, imho -- but the video otherwise does a great job of building the drama of the season: from an 0-2 start to SuperBowl Champs!

Summary: False advertising!
Review: Shame on NFL films, and Amazon, for perpetuating the myth that this video/DVD is actually the entire Super Bowl. No where is a running time listed, and no where does it say this is merely a highlights reel. Even the back of the package itself makes it appear the entire game is on the video - then you watch itand find out that is not the case.

I purchase AV material for a public library in New England and bought this video for the collection knowing it would be popular with the fans. I was sorely disappointed to find out it's barely an hour long, and not even half of that is Super Bowl related.

This title needs to have full disclosure in its description saying it is clips only. I'd give this zero stars if I could.

Summary: SUPERBOWL XXXVI NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS CHAMPIONSHIP VIDEO
Review: I ordered this video as a gift for my brother. He's a die hard Patriots fan and I told him he would be getting it in the mail. I thought it would be the super bowl game in its entirety. He was at the game and I wanted him to have it. He said it was hi-lights of the season, not the game. I was very disappointed. He said it was okay, but it was not what I intended him to get.

Summary: Super Bowl?????
Review: Well being a long time suffering Jet fan I can honestly say I brought this DVD for the U2 performance. Maybe some day the Jets will win another Super Bowl, but with my luck Ricky Martin will be the half-time entertainment.............

Summary: A must Own for Any Patriots Fan
Review: All the people that said this video isn't worth owning are CRAZY!! This DVD is incredible. NFL Films did a great job of puting this together. The soundtrack is awesome. It feels like you are watching a movie, and even though we all know the ending, we are all at the edge of our seats waiting to see it. I received my DVD yesterday and watched the end about 10 times. The NFL has never put a complete game on video. Nobody should have expected that. If you are a Pats fan, you must own this DVD. It will you give you the opportunity to relive the most exciting moments in New England sports history!!

Summary: Near perfect!
Review: A season recap was enough to satisfy me, because it was the many things that happened throughout the season that made this Super Bowl win so special. The highlights were great and commentary second to none. Only 2 things I would have liked to have seen included that were not; the crazy "Out of Bounds" ball from the Buffalo game and the opening of the Super Bowl where the Pats came out together "as a team." Other than that, every key play and moment in my memory was captured, including the non-QB passes and the BIG call vs. the Raiders. Buy it, it's worth every penney!

Summary: Pats rule, but DVD so-so
Review: There is much to enjoy on this DVD, but a few annoying aspects, as well. First of all, there are two commercials at the very beginning and you can't skip past them. You are trapped. Also, the opening sequence is a bit cheesy, juxtaposing the Pats and some Medieval jive. Once you get to the actual highlights the DVD gets much better. Great work by NFL Films and very good music. I also enjoyed that much of the on-air commentary from the Pats radio crew is included. Pity the DVD only runs about 60 minutes. So much good stuff to fit into a relatively short time. I could have used many, many more highlights. I also wish there had been more behind the scenes stuff and more extras. Putting U2 in there simply wasn't a selling point for me and I have yet to watch that segment. That ten minutes could have been much better spent on additional game footage. I did enjoy the segment on Steve Grogan. Some coverage of the victory parade in Boston would have been welcome, too. But lets face it, if you're a Pats fan you simply must have it. Small annoyances aside, I could watch this DVD a hundred times and not tire of it. A fitting, if somewhat brief and superficial, documentation of a fantastic season. Maybe next year's Pats Super Bowl celebration DVD will get it completely right.
