Summary: A very good compilation of ECW's history...Past & Present!
Review: 1. ECW Television Title: Pitbull #2 (w/ Francine) vs. Shane Douglas vs. Too Cold Scorpio vs. Chris Jericho (C)

This match was long (about 45 minutes). While it had some nice moves and some creative sequences, it's longevity really hurts it. It's about 25 minutes before anyone's eliminated. Jericho gets in some nice offense, though, and it's a nice look at his earlier career. Scorpio is very athletic. This match also features the famous turn on The Pitbulls by Francine, when she joined Douglas. A new TV Champion is crowned. While it was somewhat boring, it's longevity made it somewhat worthwile, as there was obviously SOME nice spots and exchanges.
RATING: **1/4

ECW Television Title: Rob Van Dam (w/ Bill Alfonso) vs. Bam Bam Bigelow (C)

Bigelow is a Triple Threat member at this time. RVD is the tag team partner of Sabu. Most of this match was a spotfest, albeit a damn good one. RVD hits a top-rope flying somersault plancha into the crowd onto 3B. The spots by RVD were incredible, and 3B also got in his awesome flying moonsault. In the ring, there were some good exchanges and reversals. 3B is a teriffic worker considering his size. Sabu interferes and helps RVD win the TV Title courtesy of a Van Daminator, beginning his 23-month long historic TV Title reign. A historic match and an exciting bout, filled with tons of athletecism.
RATING: ***1/4

Stairway To Hell Match: Sabu (w/ Bill Alfonso) vs. The Sandman

Brutality at it's most brutal. Full-fledged violence like you've never seen before. This match is from House Party 1998, and is relatively historic. This is NOT the match where these two screwed up all of their spots, making for a -***** match (that was at Hardcore Heaven 1997). Sandman takes an amazing spill when he flies off the ladder and somersaults through a ringside table. This match features incredibly hardcore spots. Sabu goes face-first into the guardrail during the match. That occurrence broke his jaw. In a gruesome vision, Alfonso is forced to tape Sabu's mouth and jaw shut, due to the amount of blood loss ensuing inside of his mouth. Sabu had to finish the match, and to this day I still question how he ever did. After that, Sandman realizes that the match has got to end and canes Sabu across his already-broken jaw. I believe it took 40 stitches to close Sabu's cuts in his mouth. Very violent. Tons of spots where they go face-first into barbed-wire. Sandman's face is a crimson mask, and his shirt is blood red by the end of the match. This is the second bloodiest match I've ever seen. The bloodiest, you ask? Read on.
RATING: **** for the brutality; * stars for the technical prowess, not that there was expected to be any; Overall, I'll give it **

Tapei Death Match: Axl Rotten vs. Ian Rotten

Tod Gordon forces Bill Alfonso to referee it. Each wrestler has dipped their fists first into glue, and then into broken glass. So, they have glass chards glued to their fists. This match is just punch after punch, with the only actual moves being a DDT, backdrop, and bodysplash. The Gangstas and Public Enemy brawl out towards the ring area during the match, forcing police to break them up. After that, Axl and Ian just cut up eachother with punches like crazy. This match is sick. Thumbtacks are eventually used. Axl's face is bloody by the end of the match, but Ian is a human crimson mask. I have never seen so much blood on somebody's face. This match is NOT recommended for anybody below 18. VERY bloody.
RATING: After combining the hardcore abundance and actual wrestling, I'll give it *

Three-Way Elimination Match: Jerry Lynn vs. Super Crazy vs. Yoshihiro Tajiri (w/ Steve Corino)

Tremendous match. The greatest pure wrestler in North America, Jerry Lynn, goes at it along with Crazy and Tajiri in a great technical match. Some awesome aerial tactics are seen, and some stiff kicks by Tajiri are of course seen. Crazy is very impressive. The WWF should sign him. By releasing Lynn, the WWF committed a sin, at least in my mind. This match is very good, probably the best on the tape. Crazy is eventually eliminated, and then it's down to Lynn and Tajiri. They do some great matwrestling before one of them wins. I'm not gonna' spoil it for you. Anyway, though, this match is very good technically, and there is great Luchadore-like aerial offense by all three competitors.
RATING: ***1/2

Overall, if you're old enough to view Sabu/Sandman and Axl/Ian, this is a teriffic buy. I've seen all of ECW's national Pioneer releases, and along with Anarchy Rulz '99 and HeatWave '98, this is their best video currently out. It's got a great mix of athletecism, mat wrestling, and hardcore stuff. While most of their other videos have more matches, the matches on here (besides the two bloodbaths) are very good in terms of pure wrestling. If you're a blood fan, this tape also would be of some interest. Highly recommended, and I'm not an easy reviewer.

Summary: This is what "EXTREME EVOLUTION" should have been!
Review:

This is everything the first DVD should have been. A great and relevant RVD match, an incredible 4-way elimination, the malenko/gurrero CLASSIC, the definitive Sabu/Sandman match (arguably the best american garbage match of the 90's), TAJIRI IS GOD~!'s first appearance on DVD, Mysterio vs. Psicosis!...

CHRIS JERICHO! STEVE AUSTIN! TAZZ!

GET THIS DVD (VHS)! You wont be dissapointed. This is ECW!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: ECW's 2nd DVD release
Review: Although I don't like Path of Destruction as well as Extreme Evolution, I still think it's a great second release from ECW. It still has some great matches and a little history lesson plus a few extras like a great "hidden" Brian Pillman promo. I've not seen the matches on the DVD listed yet, so I'll list those here. * Chris Jericho vs 2 Cold Scorpio vs Pitbull 2 vs Shane Douglas from 1996 * Rob Van Dam vs Bam Bam Bigelow from 1998 * Sabu vs Sandman in a Stairway to Hell Match from 1998 * Ian Rotten vs Axl Rotten in a Taipei Death Match from 1995 * Jerry Lynn vs Super Crazy vs Tajiri from 1999 * Dean Malenko vs Eddie Guererro 2 out of 3 falls from 1995 * Psicosis vs Rey Mysteio Jr from 1995.

Another 3 hours of action. I wish WCW and WWF would take a lesson from ECW and begin releasing these "greatest hits" type compilations on DVD instead of just entire PPVs. They are worth the money for wrestling fans.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A GREAT VIDEO, BUT BUY THE DVD FOR MORE MATCHES; 4.5 STARS
Review: BEING THAT I COULDN'T FIND THE DVD FOR THIS COMPILATION ANYWHERE, I HAD TO SETTLE FOR THIS TAPE INSTEAD. IT'S A PRETTY GOOD TAPE FOR ANY ECW FAN. HERE'S MY OPINIONS ON THESE MATCHES;

1. 4 CORNERS MATCH FOR THE ECW TV CHAMPIONSHIP
CHAMPIONSHIP
CHAMPION CHRIS JERICHO VS. 2 COLD SCORPIO VS. PITBULL #2 VS. SHANE DOUGLAS
A VERY LENGTHY MATCH. THIS MATCH ALONE TAKES UP OVER A HALF AN HOUR OF THE TAPE. BUT, IT'S A VERY GOOD MATCH WITH A LOT OF INTENSE ACTION. THIS IS DEFINITELY AN EXAMPLE AS TO WHY ECW GOT ME HOOKED ON PRO WRESTLING IN THE 1ST PLACE! RATING; 5/5

2. FOR THE ECW TV CHAMPIONSHIP
CHAMPION BAM BAM BIGELOW VS. ROB VAN DAM
THIS IS WHERE RVD'S NEARLY 2 YEAR LONG REIGN AS ECW TV CHAMPION BEGAN! A VERY GOOD MATCH WITH PLENTY OF HIGH FLYING ACTION FROM ROB VAN DAM. RATING; 5/5

3. STAIRWAY TO HELL MATCH
SABU VS. THE SANDMAN
THIS IS WHAT I CALL HARDCORE! THESE GUYS BRAWL IN THE RING, OUT OF THE RING, AND EVEN IN THE AUDIENCE. BUT ONCE THE BARB WIRE COMES INTO PLAY, YOU'LL SEE EXACTLY WHY THIS MATCH IS ONE OF ECW'S ALL TIME GREATEST MATCHES. RATING; 5/5

4. TAIPEI DEATH MATCH
IAN ROTTEN VS. AXL ROTTEN
SOUNDED KINDA INTERESTING, BUT, THIS MATCH WAS CORNY. THE MATCH WAS JUST DONE WRONG. THE WORST MATCH ON THE TAPE. RATING; 1.5/5

5. 3 WAY DANCE
JERRY LYNN VS. TAJIRI VS. SUPER CRAZY
NOW THIS IS A GREAT WAY TO END THIS TAPE. THIS MATCH IS FILLED WITH EXCELLENT HIGH FLYING ACTION AS WELL AS FAST PACED WRESTLING, WHICH IS WHAT I LIKE. RATING; 5/5

I REALLY LIKED THIS TAPE. BUT, I WANNA BUY THE DVD SO I CAN FINALLY SEE THE MATCHES THAT WEREN'T INCLUDED IN THIS TAPE. ANYWAY, A GREAT TAPE. BUT GET THE DVD SO YOU CAN GET ALL OF THE MATCHES TO THIS COMPILATION AND DON'T EVER BUY A CENSORED ECW TAPE OR DVD EVER.

Summary: ECW PATH OF DESTRUCTION
Review: Chris Jericho VS 2 Cold Scorpio VS Pitbull 2 VS Shane Douglas
This match has been made very overrated by to many people its a good match but its no match of the year it dragged on for far to long Jericho shouldn't of been the first out of the picture because as soon as he went the match kind of went to S.H.I.T but also they did a good enough match overall. could of had a nicer vibe to it if the ring hadn't look like S.H.I.T and there were a crowd who knew what good wrestling was instead of applauding things all the time just because a certain manoeuvres look fancy ****

Rob Van Dam VS Bam Bam Bigelow
Before i get into this match I would like to say RVD is not the greatest most amazing wrestler of all time people who think he is obviously haven't seen a decent match in there life he cant wrestle for S.H.I.T in fact the only move I have seen him do that is a wrestling move is a head lock but that only last 5 secs before he gets in to a spot fest routine. This match has got some impressive spots that cant be denied but that's all it had and who'd of guessed the ending cos I sure didn't duh.***

Sabu VS The Sandman
I've got to admit this was a pretty good spot fest match if you like hardcore wrestling then you'll love this its the original T.L.C.***1/2

Ian Rotten VS Axl Rotten
DUD nothing to say about this match except go to hell

Jerry Lynn VS Tajiri VS Super Crazy
I loved this match it had a non-stop pace to it, all you could want in a three way elimination match all genuine talented guys and if anyone's got a problem about my rating then you can go F**k your MUM *****

Dean Malenko VS Eddy Guererro
This is another classic from these to but why have a match as good as this in ECW where most of the crowd are to pist to watch it never mind it still don't take away its value to wrestling ****1/2 not as good as there match at H.C.S

Psicosis VS Rey Mysterio
Another classic match it is just an outstanding debut for both, amazing luchador match up and if you don't like this match there's something wrong with you ****1/2

This defiantly worth buying though it does have one match on it that is the worst ECW match ever but it has three classics

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: ECW = Wrestling at it's best!

ECW F'N RULZ!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: ECW tops the big two.
Review: ECW tops the big two in talent and work. Every man on the roster can out work about anyone in Professional Wrestling. Add in the Extreme element, and you have wrestling like none other can produce. Paul E Dangerously is a booking wizard and gets the most out of the talent he has available. This is a must buy.

Summary: Yes! A 2nd ECW DVD!
Review: ECWs 2nd DVD picks up where the last one left off. More great matches and even more blood! The opener is a 4 corners TV tite match, this showcases the moves thatY2J is capable of doing,an I wish he'd bust some of these out in the WWF. RVD vs. Bam Bam is the set up for the match that should have been on here Sabu vs. RVD at Wrestlepalooza 98. Oh well maybe in a future volume. Still a wonderful match. Sabu vs. Sandman in a Stairway to hell match! Awesome awesome awesome. Blood, ladders barbed wire, kendo sticks, chairs, and a broken jaw! Sabu is the real King Of Hardcore.(No offense Mr. Foley). Ian vs. Axl,ehhh well it's bloody.Jerry Lynn vs. Tajiri vs. Super Crazy,is filled with highlights, but I thought it was too short. There is a reason they call the Malenko/Guererro matches classics and you just have to watch this outing to find out why. The ending farewells of both men make you respect them even more.Psicosis vs. Rey Mysterio Jr,is about what you'd expect from these two,but again it was a little short. Then there is the great great great Brian Pillman "hidden" promo. This guy would be right up there with Austin and Rock had he not passed away far too soon. I'm just sorry some of the new wrestling fans can not appreciate what he did or us.Can't wait for Deep Impact. Keep it up ECW!

Summary: Wrestling and Acting
Review: Eight great reviews and now this? Well, it's true, after viewing this uncensored version of "extreme wrestling" I'm more amazed than ever that there are people buying into this embarrassing spectacle. This isn't fighting ~ it's acting, and while I give these men and women applause for their athletic ability, the nearly three hours of staged bashing is overkill and exhausting in its boredom. Even DVD cannot fast-forward through this quickly enough. In fairness, I was hoping for something akin to the Ultimate Fighting Championships, which this is not, but what I got was far below the caliber of even a schoolyard brawl.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: ECW's second mainstream video
Review: Fans of the now-defunct ECW will find much to enjoy about this, their second national video release. It includes such classic moments as Francine's heel turn, RVD winning the TV title, and the infamous "Stairway To Hell" match between Sandman and Sabu.

While this is a very good tape, I don't feel they helped fully show fans what ECW was all about. The matches were great but they could have shown some classic promos and a few other moments. All in all, it is still a good tape that any wrestling fan would enjoy.
