Summary: Awesome WWE Feature DVD
Review: "Triple H - The Game" gives a good rundown of the career of Michael Paul Levesque, aka Hunter Hearst Helmsley, aka Triple H aka The Game. The 77 minute feature, through interviews with Triple H and other luminaries such as Mick Foley, Ric Flair, Steve Austin, The Undertaker, Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho, Pat Patterson, J.R. and Edge, plus select footage, discusses his rise to the top of the WWF/E but gives a general overview of his WWF career and in fact briefly discusses his short stint in the old WCW.THE FEATURE: The feature talks about the following: 1. His boyhood idolization of Ric Flair. 2. His stint in WCW as Terra Ryzing/Jean-Paul Levesque 3. His early stint in the WWF as American Blueblood Hunter Hearst Helmsley 4. The infamous "MSG Incident." 5. His phenomenal year 2000 including his feuds with Mick Foley and Kurt Angle (including the comedic spots with Foley and the love triangle with Stephanie and Kurt) 6. His Wrestlemania X-7 match against the Undertaker 7. His quad injury in 2001 and coverage of his surgery and subsequent loooooooong rehab process. 8. His "triumphant" return in 2002 including his big wins at the Royal Rumble and subsequent feud and win at Wrestlemania X-8 against Chris Jericho (sans Stephanie and Dog Poop...) THE DVD FEATURES Again the WWE is going to Vault for some great stuff. These are the DVD extras included on this release: 1. Triple H vs. Cactus Jack, Street Fight, from Royal Rumble 2000: The match that firmly established Triple H as a legitimate main eventer. All-out hardcore war as the Hardcore Legend. 5 stars. You can turn on the optional commentary track for this match with Triple H and the Coach if you wish. It's a great listen. 2. Un-aired sketch from Triple H's hosting of MadTV. Will Sasso treats us to his humorous (and near dead-on) impressions of Triple H, The Rock, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and the Undertaker. Hilarious!!! 3. Triple H's Favorite Match: "Nature Boy" Ric Flair (challenger) vs. Ricky "the Dragon" Steamboat (champion) for the NWA Heavyweight Title from Wrestle War '89. Bob Caudle and (a young) Jim Ross on commentary. Terry Funk, the legendary Lou Thesz (RIP) and Pat 'O Conner are judges for this contest. 30 minute 5 star Match of the Year classic. This match culminated the red-hot Flair/Steamboat feud and transitioned the equally hot Flair/Funk feud. Truly one of THE GREATEST contests of all time and worth the price of admission alone. 4. The Test and Stephanie McMahon wedding from Monday Night Raw, 11/29/99. The angle that jettisoned Triple H into the main event and set-up the infamous "McMahon-Helmsley FacGime." 5. Triple H's WWF debut match, Hunter Hearst Helmsley vs. Buck Zumhoff, 4/28/95. Gorilla Monsoon and J.R. on commentary. 3 minute jobber squash. THE VERDICT: Overall, this is definitely one of the better personality tapes the WWE has put out this year. The bonus matches were great as it was interesting to see J.R. in his younger days and it was just awesome hearing Gorilla Monsoon's (RIP) voice again. Overall, the extras alone are worth the price of admission alone. Whether you like Triple H or not, you can't go wrong with this one. Highest Recommendation

Review: ...and his name is HHH! His commentary is wonderful, the matches always do the job, and knowing such a man exists really helps me sleep at night. Recommended to all insomnia sufferers. God bless you, Paul, GOD BLESS YOU!

Summary: Very good DVD
Review: A great DVD, it shows him in the old WCW as Tera Ryzing and shows him in Madison Square Garden with the "KLiq" from 1996 and even has footage from his shoot interview he did in 1999 where he talks about the KLiq and how the WWF held him down for 3 years. The DVD shows Triple H talkin out of character most of the DVD. This DVD is very current because it ended showing Triple H's match on RAW the night after Wrestlemania 18. DVD extras include:

*A never aired skit from MADTV
*Triple H vs Cactus Jack- Royal Rumble 2000(You can toggle between normal commentary or HHH's commentary)

*There's also an easter egg somebody mentioned, just press right on the controller when highlighting the chapter "Working Heel" it talks about where Triple H got the idea of using the sledgehammer.

Review: Blah. Get this DVD only for the classic Steamboat vs. Savage match. That's it. HHH is a time hogging .... There is no wrestler he can't hold down. You nake them, he's held them down. The one word this man lacks in his vocabulary is JOB. He better start jobbing or he will lose his JOB. Wait, no he can't. He is ... Stephanie. My bad.

Summary: Why Are People So Hard On This DVD?
Review: Granted, HHH isn't one of my favorite wrestlers but this is a review of a bio, not a popularity contest. On that note, this DVD is pretty exceptional. The bio piece itself is long but interesting. I also like the way he gives respect to guys like Mick Foley and Ric Flair as to his own career development. I also like the additions like the streetfight at the Royal Rumble 2000 with Cactus Jack and the optional commentary! Seeing Ric Flair Vs. Rick Steamboat again also brought back fond memories as well! Flair (as well as another NWA/WCW legend Harley Race) was one of "The Game"'s role models for wrestling so it was appropriate that this match was on here, especially now that they are working together. Yeah, HHH isn't my favorite guy in wrestling but this DVD is (as he would say) THAT DAMN GOOD!

Summary: Play the game over and over again
Review: Great DVD. Where it doesn't delve too much into his WWE history, it does add some more trivia to fans of Triple H. They show some exclusive footage, such as his wCw days as "Terra Ryzing", and they were even more generous to add his debut match as an extra. The story basically revolves around his leg injury: one that would have retired the average athlete. And, it does well to emphasize how courageous and phenomenal for one man to make a comeback on the level he did, and become the WWE Champion. A lot of interviews with H and the rest of the WWE Superstars. I find it odd with this DVD, as with most WWE documentaries, how they can often switch back and forth in and out of character during the duration of the interviews. One minute they would discuss backstage goings on, and another, H would answer the question in character. It's annoying at times to an intelligent viewer that obiviously knows which fascet of the business is real, and I personally feel they should produce these DVDs either in character, or do it for real, and stick to it. Still, the entertainment value, and added trivia are what the viewers pay for, and it delivers well. The extras definitely make up for the heavy cost. The debut match is a fascinating watch; his character now, and his character then are very different. The un-aired MAD TV sketch features Will Sasso as an overenthusiastic wrestling fan, and was hilarious--it should have been aired!! The footage of Stephanie McMahon and Andrew "Test" Martin's wedding on RAW is aired in it's entirety, and gives nostalgia to longtime fans of H. Announcer Jonathan Coachman has a play by play commentary with H's street fight against Mick Foley at Royal Rumble 2000, which I felt was too long to watch; the commentary was fascinating, but I felt it lagged, so I have not finished it yet. The coolest extra has to be the legendary match Ric Flair vs. Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat at Wrestle War '89. It is a long match, but the best example of great vintage wrestling by two legends that influenced wrestlers like H. I find it very generous for WWE to add this match for die-hard wrestling fans. This addition alone makes the DVD worth 5 stars, even if it is not directly about H. It's a great addition to a wrestling collection. And, it will be prized in time, considering this marks H's prime in the sport.

Summary: Interesting but not worth the money!
Review: Having seen a couple other tapes from stars of WWE. I can honestly this one wasn't that great. While I do think there was a lot of footage of Triple H's beginning in the wrestling world, and his quad injury it really didn't go into who Triple H was before he became Triple H. There was no background other him mentioning how he watched wrestling with his father as he grew up. After seeing tapes from Undertaker and the Hardy Boyz I expected something much better than that. On the flip side though there was some great footage of Triple H coming back from his quad injury so it was interesting. But, other than that I'd say save yourself the money and don't bother buying this tape.
