Summary: My Favorite Rumble Card
Review: With the exception of the Royal Rumble from 1992 (where Ric Flair won the event and the WWF title along with it), this is probably my favorite version of the event! Let's get to it:

Spike Dudley/TAZZ VS. The Dudley Boyz w/Stacy Kiebler (WWF/WWE Tag Team Championship) - Not a great bout but it doesn't suck either! Some very hard hitting spots that are very ECWsqe!

Edge Vs. William Regal (WWF/WWE I-C Title Match) - Probably the only stinker on the card. Edge and Regal are actually very good workers but this one wasn't as good their other encounters.

Trish Stratus Vs. Jazz (WWF/WWE Women's Title Match) - Surprisingly good match. Jazz is the superior wrestler and worker but I have to give Trish a lot of credit in that she does try her best in the ring! Also, having Jackie in there as the special ref added some comedy to the bout.

"Nature Boy" Ric Flair Vs. Vince McMahon (Streetfight Match) - This was also another surprise. McMahon and Flair worked very well together!

Chris Jericho Vs. The Rock (WWF/WWE Undisputed Championship Match) - I have never seen their first encounter from No Mercy 2001 but if its anything like this match, then I am sure I'd love it! These two put on a great match! Probably the best between the two!

The Royal Rumble Match - Was very well paced and probably the strongest line up since The Royal Rumble 1992! While it was pretty obvious that HHH was going to win, it at least gave us some great action leading up to that point. I find it ironic since the best Royal Rumble took place in 1992, that we get another great one 10 years later!

This is a good DVD and a good card. Get it or at least rent it!

Summary: Good PPV as a whole, but the Rumble match is too predictable
Review: WWE Royal Rumble 2002 was held at the Phillips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. Overall it was a pretty decent PPV. I would have given the PPV a rating of 3.5, but that wasn't one of the choices. Here is a list of the matches. I ranked them on a star (*). The matches are based on a scale of one to five stars.

1. SPIKE DUDLEY & TAZZ (VS) DUDLEY BOYS (TAG TEAM TITLE)
This was a good opening match, although it could have been a little longer. The crowd was actually really into this match. Spike & Tazz retains the title when Tazz gets D-Von to tap to the Tazzmission. ***

2. WILLIAM REGAL (VS) EDGE (INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE)
This match was really boring. This fued carried on way to long. Only good spot was when Edge gave a DDT to Regal on the outside apron. Regal wins with a Brass Knuckle punch. **

3. TRISH STRATUS (VS) JAZZ (WOMEN'S TITLE)
I am not a fan of most women's match. This match was boring. Trish retains the title with a Stratusfaction. *

4. RIC FLAIR (VS) VINCE McMAHON (STREET FIGHT)
This was a decent match. It is about what was expected between these two. One good spot was when Vince took Flair's daughter's camera and took a picture of the bloodied Flair. Flair wins when Vince taps to the Figure-Four Leglock.
***1/2

5. CHRIS JERICHO (VS) THE ROCK (UNDISPUTED TITLE)
This was a great match. There was a not a lot of talk about this match afterwards. It is very underated. The crowd was really into this match. It had a great excitement and action. There were many close falls. The Rock Rock bottom's Y2J from one announce table to the next. Y2J retains the title with help from Lance Storm, Christian, Nick Patrick, and an exposed top turnbuckle. ****

6. ROYAL RUMBLE MATCH
Good match. The ending was a little to predictable because of Triple H's return. One of the highlights was Maven elimintating the Undertaker, which was preceeded by the Undertaker beating Maven all over the building, ending with Maven getting his head slammed through a glass popcorn machine. The Stone Cold and Triple H staredown was very intense. Triple H wins by clotheslining Kurt Angle over the top rope. Triple H receives an automatic shot at the Undisputed Title in the main event at Wrestlemania X8. ***1/2

EXTRA'S
The extra's are not that great except for Triple H's return on RAW in Madison Square Garden.

Overall, this was a pretty good PPV. Two good matches, one great match, and a good Rumble match. My favorite match was the Y2J and Rock match. I recommend buying this DVD.

Summary: The Road to Wrestlemania Begins!
Review: WWE Tag-Team Championship
Tazz and Spike(c) vs. The Dudleys
-Decent Match but could've been better. Nothing exciting or worth mentioning. **1/4

WWE I-C Championship
Edge(c) vs. William Regal
-This match was pretty good. It was no classic but it's the best you can get out of Regal. The two have different wrestling styles but blended well. Regal's best friend "Brass Knuckles" helped him out. ***1/2

WWE Women Championship
Trish(c) vs. Jazz
-This is pretty average and very boring. It shouldn't be on a PPV card. *1/2

Street Fight
Ric Flair vs. Vince McMahon
-Solid Match! I was quite surprised because I was expecting it to be a horrible match. This match is brutal as both of them use alot of weapons and both are bloody in this bout. Both are pretty old but that didn't stop it from being a good match. ***1/2

WWE Undisputed Championship
Chris Jericho(c) vs. The Rock
-Good Match! Good brawling by The Rock. Jericho is a great wrestler but he uses the same moves over and over again which leads me to think that he can only perform a total of 5 moves. The Rock carries the match but Y2J wins with the low-blow and then putting his feet on the ropes for the win. If you want to see a better Y2J/Rock match, see No Mercy 2001. ***3/4

WWE Royal Rumble
-Pretty good Rumble! Alot of star power in this one. You have Stone Cold, Triple H, The Undertaker, Kurt Angle, Big Show, Kane, RVD, Booker T and you have the returning Goldust, Mr. Perfect!, Val Venis, and The Godfather. A little predictable but all Rumbles are predictable these days. Triple H eliminates Kurt Angle to win the Royal Rumble. ****1/4

So overall, A pretty good show as 4 of the 6 matches are above ***. It a fun show and you won't be disappointed because it doesn't really feature a bad match. The Rumble is the best on the card and is worth seeing for all the stars involved.
