Summary: nWo Back in black??
Review: The formation of the nWo in July 1996 changed professional wrestling forever. This DVD does a good job covering the history of the New world order from May 1996 through September 1996...and then it skips directly to the WWE version in 2002, which was just Vince McMahons lame "re-birth", intended to sell T-shirts and this disappointing DVD.

The three plus years that this DVD skips contains the real story of the nWo. From the groups rise to power and glory days from July 1996 to December 1997, to the 1998 nWo split into the wolfpac and nWo Hollywood, to the infamous "finger poke of doom" and the 1999 Wolfpac...to the short lived nWo 2000, which ended the factions run in the old WCW. Some of the highlights of that era was the Sting storyline, Roddy Pipers return to battle the nWo, the nWo Souled out PPV from 1997, Curt Hennig turning against the 4 Horseman & the controversial 4 horseman parody, the nWo nitro from late 97, Starrcade 97, the nWo split, and Bret Harts short leadership of nWo 2000.

However, nWo fans should take a look at this DVD for the early coverage, and the Bash at the beach 1996 & War Games 1996 match. The WWE version was pitiful in the eyes of real nWo fans out there...maybe someday the true story of the new World order will be told.

Summary: NWO Back in Black is 4 Life
Review: The nwo Back in Black DVD was probably one of the best DVD's ever released by the WWE. It showed their formation in the mid 90's in WCW to their final run in the WWE, as well as bonus matches from the WCW and WWF.

Summary: A must have for nWo fan
Review: The nWo may be suffering a slow death at the hands of WWE writers but this DVD brings you back to the glory days when the nWo was running wild and kicking serious ass. The DVD focuses on the early part of the nWo as most of it was from 1996 to early 1997. Thankfully it doesnt discuss in detail the run offs like black and silver. There are great interviews with Nash, Hall and Hogan in which they discuss things like the Kliq and why they left wwf in the first place. There are also 4 full length machtes included:
BASH AT THE BEACH 1996: Hall & Nash vs. Sting, Luger, Savage

FALL BRAWL 1996: Wargames: Hall, Nash, Hogan, Fake Sting vs. Sting, Luger, Arn, Flair

STARRCADE 1998: Kevin Nash vs. Goldberg

RAW: 3/11/02: Rock and Austin vs. nWo

This is 20 something bucks you will well spend. I hope the WWE also releases a four horseman tape set.

Summary: nWo Deserves Better
Review: The nWo revolutionized pro wrestling. They were the only reason to watch WCW for the longest time. Unfortunately, the WWE decided to make them a big joke. This DVD is great when they go through the beginning of the New World Order. From the invasion of Hall & Nash to the transformation of Hollywood Hulk Hogan. For whatever reason however, the WWE only focused half of the DVD on the real nWo. The other half highlighted the watered down stint that the nWo was forced through with the WWE in early 2002. The best thing about the DVD are the extras. Loaded with key matches from the nWo's history and their return match for the WWE. Plus, two nWo promos are included from their highly anticipated return to the WWE in February 2002. This DVD will only interest hardcore nWo fans, as long as you didn't mind the way that the WWE bumbled the most anticipated return of any wrestling group in WWE history.

Summary: Just Too Sweeet!
Review: The nWo was by far the most influential angle and faction to ever hit the pro wrestling scene. It forever changed the way wrestling was booked and promoted.

This is a great DVD for those fans who witnessed the birth of the nWo in WCW. WWE has done a masterful job of giving us the history of the nWo and the reasons why Hall, Nash, and Hogan left WWF in the first place. There are some fanstastic clips of Hall and Nash's early WWF career and even a fuzzy (assumed) home video clip of "The Cliq" breaking kayfabe at Madison Square Garden before Hall and Nash left for WCW.

We're treated to the rise of the nWo and the part that Hulk Hogan played in getting it off the ground. Many great moments are chronicled like Eric Bischoff getting powerbombed off the stage, The Outsiders "invading" WCW Nitro, the nWo taking over a Nitro broadcast, and the revelation that it was Eric Bischoff who was pulling the nWo's strings. Let's not forget the timeless clip of Nash launching Rey Mysterio Jr. like a lawn dart into the tv production's truck trailer. Great stuff!

Unfortanetly there are some key moments in nWo history that are not mentioned. The battles with Sting, the split into the Woflpac and Hollywood factions, the battles with Goldberg, and the reunification of nWo Wolfpac and nWo Hollywood. Those were key moments in nWo history and it's too bad that WWE did not feel obliged to give that back to the fans. It just seems that WWE was more interested in jumping to their version of the nWo, that's not good.

The extras are good. The War Games with the nWo vs. WCW is a classic and was great to see again. The inclusion of the "night after" WM X-8 is a good touch as well as the nWo vs. Austin and Rock tag match.

If you are a fan of the nWo, then jump in, you won't be dissapointed.

Peace.

Review: This definitely not a bad DVD. It takes you back to when the nWo first showed up on WCW, and how it went on. It could have talked more about how many people they ONCE had in it. BUT it mainly focused on Hogan, Nash, and Hall. Which are all good wrestlers but it could have covered the WHOLE nWo a little bit better, as in number of members wise. Other than that it was pretty interesting, plus you get a few bonus WCW pay-per-veiw matches that are not as easy to find since WCW went out of business.

Summary: NWO's beginning / WWE history of NWO at Wrestlemania X8
Review: This DVD (feature) starts off marvelously, showing how the NWO began, what they were about, then a brief section on why they fell apart, because they had 20 members and broke off into NWO red, NWO white, LWO and so on. There were interviews with Hall, Nash & Hogan, who really were not saying anything the fans didn't know. Then the majority of the DVD (90 minutes) focuses around the time when the NOW came into the WWE, from No Way Out, and culminating at Wrestlemania X8. In other words, we have all seen the build up of nwo angles going into Wrestlemania X8, so why did we need to buy a DVD just to watch it again? There are historical matches from WCW; War Games with: Luger, Sting, Flair & Arn vs Hall, Nash, Hogan & Fake Sting (Jeff Farmer), Title Match: Goldberg vs Nash (extremely slow and boring match), Bash At The Beach: Luger, Savage & Sting vs Hall, Nash & Hogan (they have this match twice on the DVD once in the feature, again as an "extra" its an extremely slow and boring match). Watch any WWE main event match and compare it to WCW's main events to see just how bad they are. There are also classic WWE matches, such as both Wrestlemania nwo matches Hall vs Austin (eh), Rock vs Hogan (Rock beats an old man) and Austin & Rock vs Hogan, Hall & Nash. Probably the worst part about this feature from the WWE, is that WCW has made two dozen NWO features in the past.

Summary: Not the best but still good
Review: This DvD is a very good biography of the original 3 members of the nWo. It could've been alot better if they had shown the nWo Wolfpac and their many fueds. But overall good.

Summary: One of the Best WWE DVD's Ever!!
Review: This dvd is great. The first 40 minutes is all wcw footage. The rest is the wwe stuff which has pretty much everything you could want. The extra's are great,3 of the 4 bonus matches are wcw ones and the 4th is the tag match where Hogan defeats Rock right before WrestleMania X8. I highly reccomend this dvd,all wrestling fans should have it in their collection.
