Summary: 2 years well worth the wait
Review: 2 years in the making.. the ducking the dodging its all over.. finally The Iceman is taking on Tito ortiz. This event was one of the greatest.
Robbie Lawyer vs Nick Diaz in a great stand up bout
Andre Arlvoski vs Cabbage Correria in another brutal bout which led to a hand being broken by punching so much.
Hermes Franca vs yevl edwards in the slowest match of the night and the only to go the distance still entertaining
Mike kyle vs wes simms in a controversal fight
and tito vs chuck liddell in the greatest adrenline fight ever! other fighters include genki Sudo, Chris lytle, Wade Shipp, Tiki Gohson and others GReat show i ordered it the second it was up for order.. i saw it on ppv to it was breathtaking

Summary: WORTH THE WAIT
Review: Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz will meet again for sure, I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen UFC 47 yet, but this was a damn good fight. There were other solid fights as well in this event and overall well worth the money spent to rent it. It's about time UFC started producing more videos.

Summary: Ok, but not the greatest
Review: I'm not sure what fights the other reviewers were watching, but the Ortiz vs. Liddel fight was boring as hell. Essentially, the two fighters stood there and sized each other up the entire first round, until Liddel lit up Tito in the last 10 seconds or so. Then in the second round they again just kind of danced around. Then, about 38 seconds into the second round, Liddel finally woke up, I guess, and rained down punches on Tito, backing him into the cage. The fight was called on a TKO.
From a strategy standpoint, I no idea why Tito would decide to engage Liddel in a stand up fight, when his strength is obviously ground and pound. What in the world was he trying to prove? Whatever it was, it was a gross miscalculation.
If you want a 5 star fight, then buy "Undisputed" which features the fight between Tito and Randy Couture. Now THAT was an epic fight.
I'm ready for the rematch between Liddel and Couture.
All I can say about Tito is that I'm glad that his ego has been cut down to size. He's done a lot of great things for UFC fighting, but he needed a serious dose of maturity. And to his credit, he was a gracious loser to both Couture and to Liddel. Hopefully, these losses are only growing pains and that he will back for some strong fights, doing what he does best -- on the ground.
The other fights on the card were so-so. Too much dancing and not enough groundwork for me.

Summary: Best UFC ever
Review: Note: Copied my review posted on MMA forum I was there live and had a great time. Zuffa really put on a good show and the fighters all had heart. The fighters on the card was nothing stellar, but every single fight was action packed. Only one fight went to decision (which was a great fight anyway) and the rest were finished by TKO/KO or submission. Genki vs Brown
More than 1/2 the building was empty for this fight. I was disappointed . Genki got a great pop anyway for whoever was in attendance. He was very calm and composed throughout the fight. Brown looked great but just got overzealous with his GnP and got caught. On a side note, Brown was wearing an awesome Sudo shirt after hs fight. Anyone know where I can get one? Shipp vs Wiezorek(sp)
Looked like a b/c level fight. Both guys were in terrible shape but fought their hearts out. No holding back in that one. Mike Mak Kyle vs Wes Sims:
Props to Sims for taking this fight on short notice. I spoke with Mark Coleman and Sims before his fight as they were near where I was sitting. Both are really nice guys. Sims was really cool. All the fans loved him. He came out and interacted with everyone before and after his fight. Having said that he took a real beating. Sims got mad props even after he lost and Kyle got the boos because of that controversial bite. Nick Diaz vs Robbie Lawler
Nick was smack talking Lawler the whole fight telling him not to run away. Both got rocked in the 1st round and the whole crowd went nuts when Lawler did that flurry at the 4 minute mark and capped it with a flying knee. However, I can't believe Lawler went down on that shot. Everyone in the building was stunned because from our persepective it looked like a 'weak' shot and Lawler fell like it was a temple shot. Andrei was warming up near us and that boy is huge. He was so relaxed and was just chilling and signing autographs. I met Cabbage at the weigh ins. He's a big boy too but has chicken legs. He is very humble in person as compared to his in-ring persona. I thought the fight was stopped a tad early, but the fight probably would have ended the same 10 secs later. Andrei looked awesome with his combos. Yves vs Hermes
Great fight. Watching it live it could have gone either way. In Pride yeah Franca probably would have won, but Yves showed great composure and was still aggressive on the ground. Boos were loud when the decision was announced. Lytle vs Tiki
Tiki looked good in the early going. Lytle wasn't using his boxing to slip and get inside. But he did get the choke ala RGracie-KShamrock. I have no idea why this fight was 2nd last? Kinda of a mood killer and many people went to get beers during the fight. Tito and Chuck
Chuck was relaxed at the weigh-ins and Tito was super serious. At both the weigh-ins and from where I was sitting it was a pro-Chuck crowd. Tito got booed when he entered and when the fan threw his beanie back in the crowd cheered. It was so loud in the Mandalay I couldn't even hear my buddy beside me. I watched the PPV when I got home and you can't even tell it's that loud. Tito was trying to be aggressive like Rampage/Couture vs Liddell, but his punches weren't committed or hard. His shots on Chuck were just as weak and he didn't set them up. Chuck was just pacing himself and gauging the distance. The last flurry Chuck did at the end of the 1st round had the building in a frenzy. Tito was so emotional at the end of the 1st round and was whining to his corner. 2nd round started, building still loud as hell. Tito looked scared and was in defensive mode. Chuck just poured it on and looked great with his final combo to KO Tito. The whole building erupted, no one was in their seats. Everyone was jumping and cheering it was crazy. Props to Tito for standing like he said he would although it was obviously the wrong gameplan. Annoying crowd was booing Tito during his post-fight interview. Other notes: Bas Rutten was there drunk as ever, hanging out rapping with Rampage and interacting with the fans. Hung out with Chris Brennan at the beer line for a brief moment. Cool guy. Met Randy and Shammy at the autograph signing session. Chatted with Randy for a bit b/c he will be coming to Toronto to train with us. Gave me his number to pass on to the organizer...really cool guy. Walking to the weigh ins some big guy taps me on the shoulder and says 'nice shirt'. I was wearing my WAND tank top and it was Mr Rampage who tapped me. He was nice enough to pose for a pic with me. Ate breakfast beside Genki. Didn't say much because of the language barrier but said good luck. Forgot to ask him for a shirt...fcuk. Some boxers were there hanging out near us: Vargas and Judah. S'bout it for now...I'll post more when I remember more. I highly encourage MMA fans to go to a UFC at least once and experience it live. It's just mayhem. Later.

Review: UFC 47 "Tt's On!" Has to be one of the most exciting and anticipated events in UFC history. April 2, 2004 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas with a sold out crowd of 11,413 that included celebrities like George Clooney, Shaq, and many more..
In spite of all the pre fight predictions promising that Tito would prevail...surpise! surprise! surprise! Chuck Lid dell got busy and unleashed a massive blitz of power punches that put Tito Ortiz down on the canvas..and out for the night. It was the first time that the cocky and always animated former UFC light heavyweight champion had been knocked out. Down for the count and unable to defend himself, Tito was saved by the ref for the event, Big John McCarthy. The official cause of death..technical knockout.
Once again Joe Rogan, better known to most television addicts as the host of fear factor, is in charge of describing all the blow by blow action for this event. And he delivers on the goods. I love Joe Rogan hosting UFC..he is an interviewer that knows the MMA! As a former 4x Kick boxing champ from mass, he has been in the ring and can comment with intelligence..unlike some of the yahoos that stumble into the octagon to do the post fight wrap up lately. Get Joe Rogan...acept no substitutes.

The UFC started in 1993 as a fighting tournament that featured no rules other than you tap out or get knocked out. You progressed from fight to fight until there was 1 ultimate winner left standing.
The best analogy for UFC is to say..It's like if someone said I wonder what who would win if you put bruce lee, mike tyson and hulk hogan in a ring together and told them to go for it..and that the last man standing get's all the marbles!

Maybe eight out of ten times, a Pay-Per-View boxing card lets you down. Not the UFC. Throw a UFC party and invite 10 friends some time...I guarantee that nobody budges for three hours.
