Review: Has good info and drills for Majors. If your division can steal then this video is helpful. Has some good defensive strategy for AA ball too.

Review: Hype is a funny thing. Sometimes one gets caught up in it, sometimes it turns you off. It generally turns me off, but in the case of the author's supposed track record with sports instructional videos/DVD's, I got caught up in it. I had heard endless acculades about his "59 Minute Baseball Practice". I bought it and I was happy with that title. I then purchaesed "Winning Baseball Strategies". This is what I would call a continuation of the "59 Minute Baseball Practice" with more of an emphasis on strategic situations that occur in the course of a Little League game for 10, 11, & 12 year olds. The strategies work very well as long as you have the horses to perform them. Even if you don't, the concepts will give your team a better understanding of the game. There are intricate strategies as well as some very logical "quick tips". I am looking forward to the playoffs and hope my fellow coaches don't know about this product. If you eat and breath baseball during Little League season, this is a must have.

Review: I have purchased coach Marty Schupak's other instructional videos. At first "Winning Baseball Strategies" seemed quite confusing. I mean how do you teach 10, 11 and 12 year old kids backups, relay position and other advanced strategies when many cannot even throw? Upon reviewing it a second time, a lot of the strategies seemed to make sense though some, I'm still not sure. Paying close attention to the narrator helps bring this video together. Quotes like " it is better to master 4 or 5 strategies in a season rather than try to teach 20-30 and confuse the kids" are quite true. So in essence this video is a source that gives the viewer many different strategies and situations. It is up to the coach to pick out which ones his team can do depending on ability. Some seem really advanced and I would save them for a good All Star team. My particular favorite is the "Delayed Steal" and how to recognize when to attempt it. The first and third defenive sitations ( alway a youth baseball coaches nightmare) are shown with some great options. Also the "Bunt With Man On Third" makes very good sense. Coach Schupak also fills us with alot of tips and hints at the end of the video. Some are just common sense but many will ease any pain a youth baseball coach goes through when the phone starts ringing after a game. This is a good buy for youth baseball coaches who are
somewhat competitive and All Star coaches who need any advantage they can get. Another good job with excellent production work!!!!

Review: I know youth baseball is suppose to be all fun. I've been coaching 6 years. I've finished in first, and I've finished last. Believe me, first is better. This video has impressive baseball strategies. Already used a few. The "secondary pickoff" play is my favorite and this worked first time we tried it. Can't get enough of baseball. Let those overpaid knuckleheads strike, our American past time is with the youth of this country. Buy this video and have the remote ready. This is great material.

Review: Very good theories! Hard to get young ball players to follow many of the things shown but am implementing presently and seeing some positive results. Usually on my youth teams, 1/2 the squad understands the game. This is a more valuable instrument for youth All Star teams where winning is the bottom line (though most leagues won't admit it!). Video is a good compliment to his "59 Minute Baseball Practice".

The author makes it perfectly clear that no team will be able to perfect all the strategies in this DVD. If you have the horses you should be able to use the majority of them. Another thing he emphsizes is that you must practice these strategies before using them in a game. There are added indiviual skill tips and just a bunch of good stuff. All Star coaches will get the most benefit from this. His other DVD "Backyard Baseball Drills" is another home run.

Summary: Best Instructional Video I've Seen!
Review: Without a doubt this video is the best baseball instructional video I have viewed. Got it from my local library then went right on the net and purchased it. This "baseball gem" gives basic constructive hints then the most skillful strategies that will only be used by some. The producer goes into detail about bunting, the delayed steal and even pick off plays. This at the youth baseball level (10-12 years old) is really incredible. I integrated some with my team and some worked and some did not. Don't fret, the video makes it clear which strategies will probably work with certain level of players ie. All Star Teams etc. The pace makes the viewing quite interesting and even some of the basic hints (move up in the box on slow pitching , and back on fast pitching) should be seen by younger players 8-10.
This is the perfect item for coaches who really want to stick to that other obnoxious coach who always wins and lives for winning
(doesn't every league have one of those). For playoffs and All Stars, this is great. Go for it!
