Summary: All Killer, No Filler!!!!!
Review: Finally, a surf DVD that actually looks and sounds like a quality DVD. All the other ones I've seen to this point look like real low budget transfers, with lame, blotchy pixels. This Movie is another Taylor Steele masterpiece that picks up where Goodtimes left off! All the boys you'd expect are there and more, wrapped up in neat little 3 minute segments that we've all grown to love. The soundtrack is sooooooooooo good, with new songs from all the favorites, including a great song from one of the worlds most talented bands, "Pivit". The footage is really nice and looks almost 3D at times on the DVD. Honestly though, even If I had A 8th generation copy on vhs I'd still love this one. Timmy Curran goes off like an Alien, and Ross Williams throws spray that would bruise you if you got within 25 feet of him. The Hobgoods, Machado, Slater, I could go on and on! Just buy it! There's lots of cool extras and Interviews in the dvd menu also. A lot of work and heart went into this one. Hip-Hip-Hooray for the kids at POOR SPECIMEN! Please make More!!!!

Summary: 5 stars minus one for the stupid skits before the surf
Review: Great movie. Moves well. Good extras. Wipeouts were action packed for once. Slater and Machado were at their best in some interesting places. Music was awesome. Your usual Blink and Jack Johnson beats, but well placed with the surfers. Oh yeah, just watch it for the music and sites, the skits were pretty bad.

Summary: Dissapointed
Review: I was a little dissapointed by this movie. As surfing has evolved in the last 30 - 40 years so I expected surf movies to evolve as well. I see this is not true, most of the current movies stick to the same adranlin-pumping music with dudes doing aerials formula. The music is all grunge surf music which I can't stand (I hit the muting button and put my own music on). The surfing is good (these are the latest stars after all) but nothing spectacular.

As I said of Loose Change, I was expecting more artistic and slow motion shots. There are none in this movie. There is actually very little creativity from the producers/directors. The camera work is just straight forward, nothing else. Speaking of Loose Change, this is basically the same movie as that on but without the sketches. I don't think there's a need to buy both (unfortunately I did), if you've seen one, you've seen them both.

Now, if you want the best surf movie of the last 30 years run to get a copy of September Sessions. It is really extraordinary. Rob Machado does some of the best, more soulful surfing I've seen in my life.

Summary: A Surfing Lesson !
Review: Let's just comment about the surfing manouvers we have in this DVD. If you want a Surfing DVD to improve on your surfing performance, this is a very good option (deserves 5 stars for that). Just play the slow motion, keep it all in your mind and try to repeat it in the water. You will be a top 10. It also gives you a good opportunity to compare the best surfers at once. Watching the differences between there surfing style is another way to improve in this religion-sport-way of life ...
