Review: WWE Survivor Series 2002 decided to go with quality over quantity, and in doing so the pay per view(ppv) turned out golden, although there was nothing that was completely out of this world, there was tons of great action and basically nothing that was below average. Below is a review of all the matches, the overall extra features and the overall DVD, hopefully it will help you decide if you should buy this DVD or not. The review will not directly give away who wins any of the matches but the winner may seem pretty obvious by my explanations of the matches.

( Match Reviews )

--- Six Man Table Match - Jeff Hardy and Bubba Ray Dudley and Spike Dudley Vs 3-Minute Warning and Rico ---

This was a very good table match, a total of 7 tables broken in this one, some of the table spots where very well done, such as Jeff's Swanton Bomb off a balcony and a huge splash by Jamal off the top rope to the outside. However almost all the other table bumps where just above average or less. The match had a nice pace to it, lots of cool stuff done by Jeff Hardy, this was what I think Jeffs last high risk match before being fired. This match at one point gets edited, on ppv Rico went to the top and stood there for a good 25 seconds before finally being pushed off by Jeff, on this DVD, it makes Rico appear to only be on the ropes for 10 or so seconds. This was most likely edited because during the full version of this mess up u could clearly hear Rico yelling for Jeff to push him off the ropes. Anyways overall a very good table match with a surprise ending aswell, a great way to start off the ppv. (7.5/10)

--- WWE Cruiserweight Championship Match - Jamie Noble Vs Billy Kidman ---

Good cruiserweight match. It is pretty much the same as there previous matches on Smackdown. Pretty good pace, has some high impact from the top rope and just overall good. (6.5/10)

--- Hardcore Women's Championship Match - Trish Stratus Vs Victoria ---

For a womens match this was actually pretty good and entertaining, It's pretty obvious that this match was supposed to end with a mirror shot but instead we got a much weaker ending. Good effort, better than most WWE womens matches/ (5.5/10)

--- WWE Championship Match - Brock Lesnar Vs Big Show ---

This match was a lot better than I thought it was gonna be, not to say it was terrific or anything but still, the moves Big Show took where pretty amazing considering his size, including a belly to belly suplex. Most people could predict the ending and most people will be disappointed with the winner or this match. However good job to both men. (5.5/10)

--- Three-Way Elmination Match for the WWE Tag Team Championship - Edge and Rey Mysterio Vs Eddie and Chavo Guerrero Vs Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit ---

There was tons of talent in this match, so its easy to get your expectations very high for a match like this, unfortunately it just wasn't that classic lots of people thought it to be, however it still wasn't even close to being called bad. The pace was slower then expected and to a lot of people the first team who gets eliminated will make you mad. There where some very well done spots and all the competitors got most of their signature moves in. I believe the end was just kinda weak but still very good match, just it's hard not to expect better from the competitors in the match. (7.5/10)

--- Elimination Chamber Match for the World Heavyweight Championship - Triple H Vs Shawn Michaels Vs Rob Van Dam Vs Kane Vs Chris Jericho Vs Booker T ---

I believed this match to be very well done, RVD was great as always and pretty much stole the spotlight for as long as he was in the ring., RVD did a really cool Spiderman type move where he dove off the top rope, clung to the cage and did a 180 Crossbody off it onto Jericho. Shawn Michaels was also good in this match but the only problem was he came out to late, making everything he did just a copy of what had just previously been done. For example, he went threw one of the glass chambers after Jericho already went threw a glass chamber of his own, Or Shawn did a elbow drop off one of the chambers after RVD already did a splash off one of them. Still every competitor did a really good job and you've really got to give all the wrestlers credit for falling on the steal grate which looks like it hurts more then concrete. I believe this to be match of the night. (8.5/10)

( Extra Features )

There are a fair amount of extra features on this DVD but not when you compare it to Wrestlemania DVD's, the specials that are included are pretty good. There are 5 Interviews done with wrestlers after matches and I must say there great, for the reason that the wrestlers are almost completely out of character and give good comments that to most will be worth listening to. There is also a couple of options that have to do with the elimination chamber, such as the making of the chamber and thoughts on the match by the competitors. A extra match is also included on the DVD, the match is Goldust and The Hurricane Vs Lance Storm and William Regal from Sunday Night Heat that was aired just before this ppv. There is also a great slideshow section of all the Survivor Series Promotion Posters. If u are a Saliva fan then your in for a special surprise as well, cause not only is the "Always" Music video included in the special features but they also play the same song live from WWE The World during the Survivor Series. (7/10)

( Overall DVD )

I believe this to be a great purchase or at least a rent, the show is very solid threw out, I believe most people will find it hard to complain about the overall show. No match was below 5/10 in my opinion, the special features are pretty good, and included is also the debut of Scott Steiner as he beats on Matt Hardy and Christopher Nowinski, however the part when Steiner asks for the microphone using the "f" word is also edited for the younger audience. Everyone should find at least one thing if not more to like on this DVD. I believe you will want to watch a couple of the matches on this ppv more than once so I say buy it if you've got the money. I hope this review helped you decide on whether or not to buy this DVD.

Summary: Second Best PPV of the Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: Survivor Series was a great PPV. In fact it was the second best PPV of the year, only losing out to Summerslam. Survivor Series 2002 was held in November of 2002 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Everyone knew this would be a great PPV just because it was held in NYC. The crowd was into the PPV from start to finish. I will review and rank the matches. They are based out of 10 points.

1. JEFF HARDY, BUBBA RAY & SPIKE DUDLEY (VS) 3 MINUTE WARNING & RICO (TABLE ELIMINATION MATCH)
Unbelivable table match. This was the best one in a while. Great way to kick off the PPV. It was actually a pretty long match. Personally, I thought it was the best match of the night. There was a lot of crazy moves. Jeff did a Swanton off the rampway onto Rosey through a table, Jamal used the same move Shawn Michaels used on Triple H at Summerslam (off the top turnbuckle through a table on the floor) to eliminate Jeff Hardy. Rosey took a really cool somersault fall off the top rope. There was mess up as you can hear Rico ask Jeff were he was to knock him off the top rope. Bubba Ray ends up being the winner as he eliminates Rico by 3-D'ing him through a table with the help of D-Von!!!!!!!!! Great return. What a surprise. Great match. (9.5/10)
2. BILLY KIDMAN (VS) JAMIE NOBLE (CRUISERWEIGHT)
Decent match. There was a couple of real good moves and good bumps. Billy Kidman wins it using the Shooting Star Press. Finally, Jamie Noble loses the belt. Solid match. (7/10)
3. VICTORIA (VS) TRISH STRATUS (WOMEN'S TITLE/HARDCORE MATCH)
I do not particularly like women's matches, but I had high expectations for this match. It wasn't as good as I thought it would be, but it is one of the better women's matches you will see. It is cool to see them be hardcore. Victoria wins it to become the new Women's Champ. (7.5/10)
4. BIG SHOW (VS) BROCK LESNAR (WWE TITLE)
I thought this match would be horrible. It actually turned out to be pretty good. It is good that they kept this match short. The crowd goes crazy when Brock Lesnar F-5's Big Show. I never thought he could do it as clean as he did it. Crazy. Paul Heyman stops the count. You gotta love surprises like this (kind of predictable). Big Show becomes new champ when he Chokeslam's Brock on a chair. (8/10)
5. LOS GUERRERO'S (VS) EDGE & MYSTERIO (VS) ANGLE & BENOIT (WWE TAG TITLE/TRIPLE THREAT ELIMINATION)
This was a good match. I know a lot of people love this match. I was actually disappointed with it. It was good just not as good as it could have been. Much to the crowd's demise Angle & Benoit are eliminated first. I think deep down people like Angle, but they have too boo him. He is the best in the business (I am a little biased, b/c he is my favorite wrestler). Good action and good moves in this match. There is a lot of close falls. The Tag Tourney Final at No Mercy was better. Anyway's Eddie & Chavo win it to become new Tag Champs. (8/10)
Chris Nowinksi & Matt Hardy come out for a promo. They rip on the NYC crowd. Scott Steiner comes out to attack them. Everyone knew he was coming back, but not at this moment. Good surprise.
6. HBK (VS) TRIPLE H (VS) Y2J (VS) KANE (VS) BOOKER T (VS) RVD (WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT/ELIMINATION CHAMBER)
This would have been a great match if it wasn't so hyped up. It was a little disappointing, but nonetheless it was a very good and exciting match. RVD was the first to be eliminated. He gave Triple H a Five Star Frog Splash off one the chambers. On this move Triple H hurts his trachea and RVD hurts a part of his leg. Booker T gets the pin to eliminate him. Kane then eliminates Booker T. Next Kane is eliminated by Y2J. Y2J was great in this match. Y2J applies the Walls Of Jericho to Triple H, but Michaels gives him Sweet Chin Musick during the move. Michaels pins him to elimate Jericho. Finally, HBK beats Triple H to become new champ after kicking out of the Pedigree and winning on Sweet Chin Music. Very exciting finish. There are some pretty crazy moves in this match. RVD does a Spiderman impersonation when he grabs onto the side of the Chamber, HBK gives a elbow drop off the top of a cell, and both Y2J and HBK get tossed through the Plexiglass Chamber. The crowd was really into the match. (9/10)

EXTRAS
Nothing too special. Sunday Night Heat Match, Saliva music video. The best extra feature is a recap of the Elimination Chamber.

Great PPV. Every match was good. The Elimination Chamber could have been a lot better if it hadn't been so hyped up. Otherwise, it was still good. The table match was the best match of the night. I recommend this DVD. Every match was good. You can't really go wrong with anything. Pick it up.

Summary: WWE Surivor Series 2002 - Always
Review: November 17, 2002
Madison Square Garden
New York City

The 16th annual Survivor Series introduced us to the Elimination Chamber. Who will survive as World Heavyweight Champion?

Six Man Tag Team Elimination Table Match:
3 Minute Warning and Rico vs. Jeff Hardy, Bubba and Spike Dudley

What can you expect from MSG but chaos and mayhem and thats certainly how this match came to be as it was wild all the way. Bubba and D Von finally reunite at the end of this contest.

WWE Cruiserweight Championship Match:
Billy Kidman vs. Jamie Noble (c)

Kidman had all the momentum coming into the match after having two straight victories over Noble on Smackdown and sealed it by winning the Cruiserweight Title.

Hardcore Match for WWE Women's Championship:
Trish Stratus (c) vs. Victoria

This was the first time in history that the Women's Title had been defended in this type of bout and it was wild to say the least. Victoria had failed at No Mercy but was triumphant here and made history in MSG.

WWE Championship Match:
Big Show vs. Brock Lesnar (c)

Could Lesnar F-5 or even beat the Big Show. That was the question surrounding this match but it was the wild card Paul Heyman who turned on his client costing Lesnar the WWE title and alligning himself with the Big Show.

Triple Threat Elimination Match for WWE Tag Team Championship:
Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle vs. Edge and Rey Mysterio (c) vs. Los Guererros

All 6 great athletes showed their competiveness in this match as only they can. Amazingly it was Angle and Benoit who got eliminated first, but Los Guererros capitalized and beat Edge and Mysterio for the Tag Straps.

Elimination Chamber Match for World Heavyweight Championship:
Booker T vs. Chris Jericho vs. Kane vs. Rob Van Dam vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H (c)

Only in MSG can memorable history be made and Elimination Chamber did just that. This structure was indeed amazing and all 6 Raw superstars took it to the limit but in the end it was HBK who stole the show and captured the gold.

SURVIVOR SERIES WAS NO DOUBT THE 2ND BEST PPV OF THE YEAR AND WORTH GETTING ON DVD. CHECK IT OUT!!!!

Summary: From a viewer who saw it LIVE!
Review: November 17, 2002 will live in a day of wrestling infamy. Being in the sold out crowd at Madison Square Garden was an absolute experience of a lifetime.

Every single match that night was as entertaining as can be. From the opening match with Jeff Hardy, Spike Dudley and Bubba vs. Three Minute Warning to the final match in the elimination chamber (and all the matches in between....even the Hardcore Women's Championship match which got a lot of negative reaction...was good). TOP RATE SHOW!!!!

Biggest crowd reactions were:
(1) D'Von running out to help Bubba
(2) Brock picking Big Show over his shoulders for an F-5...unbelievable
(3) Scott Steiner appears!!!
(4) Jericho and HBK going through the plexi-glass....(looked like it hurt...WOW!!)
(5) HBK WINNING THE CHAMPIONSHIP!!!! (We went crazy!!)

I have been a wrestling fan since Wrestlemania 1 and frankly the pay per views up until Survivor Series have been mediocre to decent. But Survivor Series really came back to a top rate show with top rate performances.
Huge props to all the superstars involved in this great event!!

Summary: Dont Buy! Rent It! Over-Hyped!
Review: Although, I have to admit that I havent watched alot of WWE in the past 2 years and that I am really a fan of the attitude era. What I can tell you though is that WWE have more talent than ever and really should be producing better stuff. This PPV was over-hyped especially the Elimination Chamber match. Maybe I have come to expect too much after the Attitude Era constantly produced worth-while material due to the competition with WCW.

Survivor Series 2002:
1) 3 Minute Warning vs The Dudleys with Jeff Hardy
Resonable match, lots of table slamming action but the match had no fluency and was very stop-starty while wrestlers set up props etc. Jeff Hardy takes some sick bumps. Best of all is D-Vons return. 3.5/5

2) Jamie Noble vs. Billy Kidman
Good cruiserweight matchup. Pretty obvious that Kidman would win but good wrestling. Some awesome and unbelievable moves from Kidman and Noble. 3.5/5

3) Trish Stratus vs. Victoria
Pretty [bad]. Chicks just cant do hardcore keep it to bra n' panties. LOL. Chicks just cant really take bumps and there punching looks too fake. 2/5

4) Rey Mysterio/Edge vs. Los Gurreros vs. Kurt Angle/Chris Benoit
Very good tag match. I enjoyed it alot. Quite surprising. Very good wresting but Kangle & Benoit as always along with Guerros. Still cant see how Edges spear hurts though, its just a tackle 4/5

*Scott Steiner makes a very stupid debut promo

5) Brock Lesner vs. Big Show
Well, it was short but Heyman's betrayal is golden. Set up a huge feud. Huge F5 on the Big Show by Brock. 3.5/5

6) Elimination Chamber Match - Y2J, RVD, HHH, HBK, Booker T and Kane
One of the bggest let downs of all time. I thought it would be something new like Hell in a Cell was however too many people were lying down all the time and made miraculous recoveries. This type of match could take off with proper planning but this one just has high-lights, Jericho & RVD's bumps, but nothing else. 3/5

All in all, rent the PPV and if you like it enough to watch it again then buy it otherwise dont bother. DISAPPOINTING!

Review: HBK IS THE SHOWSTOPPER ONCE AGAIN!

Shawn Michaels delivered Sweet Chin Music to Triple H and won the World Heavyweight Championship Sunday night before a rabid sellout crowd at Madison Square Garden!

HBK, who hadn't held a title since dropping the WWE Championship to Steve Austin at WrestleMania 14, also pinned Chris Jericho in the Elimination Chamber match to set up his showdown with The Game.

Jericho looked unstoppable upon entering the ring. Y2J sent both Kane and Booker T back to the locker rooms after scoring pinfalls. RVD also looked impressive, starting the match with high-octane offense against the defending champion, Triple H.

After Michaels scored the pinfall, Madison Square Garden erupted with deafening cheers and a shower of streamers and confetti. What will become of HBK's reign as the World Heavyweight Champion? Tune in to RAW at 9/8 CT Monday night on TNN to hear what the champ has to say!

All month long, one question burned in everyone's mind: Could Brock Lesnar hit the F-5 on the Big Show? Many felt that the champion's devastating finisher was the key to a successful title defense. Brock Lesnar gave a resounding answer to that question by picking the 7-foot-2, 500-pound Big Show onto his shoulders and slamming him to the mat without hesitation!

Even Lesnar's advisor, Paul Heyman, stared in wide-eyed shock after feeling the tremor caused by Show crashing to the canvas. Brock appeared to have locked up the win, but Heyman unexpectedly pulled the referee out of the ring in mid-count! Lesnar's blood boiled as he stared into Heyman's terrified face. Brock gave chase but was cut down by a chairshot from his opponent. After a chokeslam onto the steel chair, Big Show got the pinfall and celebrated with Paul Heyman and his newly-won WWE Championship!

Eddie and Chavo Guerrero earned the WWE Tag Team Championship by outlasting Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit and the defending champs, Edge and Rey Mysterio, in an Elimination Match. Angle and Benoit were the first to be ousted after their bickering distracted them both. Eddie finished off an incredible, fast-paced match by making Rey Mysterio tap out to the Lasso from El Paso.

In a brutal mach that featured all sorts of weapons -- from ironing boards and brooms to trash cans and fire extinguishers, Victoria pinned Trish Stratus to become the Women's Champion! The fact that blood gushed from Victoria's nose through most of the match only seemed to fuel her rage throughout.

Not even Nidia's interference could help Jamie Noble at Madison Square Garden. Billy Kidman took hold of the Cruiserweight Championship after nailing a perfect Shooting Star Press to end Noble's five-month title reign.

When the brand extension first took hold, it appeared to signify the end of one of the greatest tag teams of all time. But the Dudley Boyz teamed up to break at least one more table at Survivor Series! Bubba faced a desperate situation. Both his partners had been smashed through tables and eliminated, leaving him to face two opponents by himself. Just as Bubba faced certain elimination, D-Von Dudley raced in and evened the score. The Dudley Boyz put Rico through a table with a 3-D and brought the Madison Square Garden crowd to its feet! Are the Dudley Boyz back together again? Tune in to RAW at 9/8 CT Monday night on TNN to find out!

Scott Steiner made his eagerly awaited debut Sunday night in forceful fashion. Big Poppa Pump thoroughly wrecked Christopher Nowinski and Matt Hardy while the two debated whether New Yorkers are stupid or losers. The Big Booty Daddy destroyed both Superstars with ease and even busted out a few pushups after the fact! It's still up in the air as to what show Steiner will appear on. Check out RAW and SmackDown! this week to see what's going on with WWE's newest Superstar.

Summary: The Most Exciting PPV of the year
Review: The Survivor Series in Madison Square Garden of 2002 was one of the most exciting ones yet. Well I of course think that because I was personally there. I mean what can be more exciting than watching Brock Lesnar lift the Big Show (which is over 500 lbs) on his neck and spin him around to nail his signature move, the F-5. No other main event can match against the elimination chamber. I mean 6 guys locked up in a chained environment with no where to go unless if eliminated. More importantly, for the World Hevyweight Championship...you don't want to miss the match. And who can beat the big booty daddy, freakzilla, Scott Steiner and his WWE debut at Madison Square Garden showing Christopher Nowinski and Matt Hardy why New York rocks! There are also other exciting matches from Raw and Smackdown! on this DVD or VHS. So if I were you I wouldn't miss one second of this PPV. It's so exciting that it'll drive you out of your seat from the display of sacrifice, flipping, strength hitting action. I mean I was there so if you were you would understand too. This DVD or VHS you don't want to miss.
