Summary: This is a great first video
Review: After starting yoga with this video, I practice every morning and have no problems motivating myself. The instructors who demonstrate the poses seem to be enjoying themselves. They make it look easy, but the instructor always reminds you that it will be easy for you one day. I highly recommend this video as a first yoga video. Because it's so relaxing you'll immediately feel the benefits. You might even get hooked like me!

Yoga Zone primarily makes videos for the beginner for different aspects of yoga like the back or flexibility and toning. (I knew that by looking at their web site - I'm not an advertiser or affiliate).

Review: I absolutely love this video. I have been practicing yoga for about four years. I own several videos from intermediate to advanced levels and I still find this beginning level video very enjoyable. Alan Finger's instructions are easy to follow. The background music is very soft. And the two yoga participants have a very relaxing and friendly presence. All of the poses can be easily modified to meet your level of fitness, flexibility, and knowledge of yoga. I often times have fallen asleep during the relaxation portion of the tape at the very end. If you need to relax after a tough workout or a stressful day, or you just need quiet time away from your family, this the yoga video for you. Enjoy. Namaste.

Summary: The best yoga video--for beginners or otherwise
Review: I agree with the other reviewers that this isn't the most challenging yoga tape--any conditioning is sort of incidental. However, I do this tape more often than any other fitness video I own. I used to get so stiff in the neck and shoulders that I could hardly move my neck--this works even better than getting a massage! Anybody who comes home from work tense or angry would really benefit from this, the focus on breathing and the relaxation at the end will leave you feeling like a warm ball of goo.

Summary: This is by far the best
Review: I am a 46-year-old woman who began practicing yoga--off and on, and with several different teachers--since I was 18 years old. I cannot say enough great things about Alan Finger. He is truly the best yoga teacher I have ever learned from. For years, I have done these postures without clear directions about exactly how every muscle should be held and positioned. Believe me, doing the poses with the muscles engaged properly makes a huge difference! I agree with the others who have written here that the best part about this tape is that I really enjoy doing it. I am not a person who normally enjoys exercise, but this tape makes me feel as if I am pampering myself.

I have neck and back problems, and the minute I feel my neck getting tense, I know it's time to do this tape. Alan Finger has the best series of neck-tension-releasing exercies I have ever done. I feel the difference immediately. I have been to many chiropractors for my neck over the years and none have helped me any more than the exercises on this tape. The best part is that I have learned that I can stop a bad neck from ever happening because I have learned to listen to my body and help those muscles relax before I am in a crisis.

This may not be the most challenging workout, but for a person who wants to be gently guided into the beautiful, healing art of yoga, I can't think of a better place to start.

Summary: Everyone Should Learn Yoga From Yoga Zone
Review: I am so glad I tried this tape! I have to admit I have many yoga tapes, but this and the other Yoga Zone videos are my absolute favorites. I use this one almost every day, alternating it with most of the other tapes in this newest series. Alan is a gentle, thorough teacher, and his videos are comforting, yet highly effective and energizing at the same time. I have achieved flexibility, strength and muscle definition from using this and his other videos. They have changed my body and my life.

Summary: Exactly what I was looking for
Review: I bought this DVD for stress release and stretching. It is perfect for just that. It's about an hour of slow, deep stretching with a few "conditioning" poses thrown in. The stretches themselves are great, mixing some conventional yet effective moves with a few I'd never seen. The stretching covers areas of the body that do tend to store stress - neck, shoulders, wrists, back - in addition to more typical arm and leg stretching.

By the time I make it to the relaxation/breathing sequence at the end of the workout I tend to nod off because I am so relaxed. Because of this I use it as stretching and relaxing before bedtime. I wouldn't recommend this tape to someone looking for more intense stretching or real conditioning because this tape is not about that. It will, however, calm you and increase your flexibility whether you are a begininner who has never tried yoga or someone who already has a moderate amount of flexibility.

Summary: Not bad!
Review: I bought this tape based on customer reviews and I must say i quite enjoy it. The workout is definitely a 'stress reliever.' Not really a big phisical challenge (although there are some challenging parts) but definitely a tension tamer. Recommended.

Summary: Very relaxing, yet powerful results
Review: I bought this tape because I had so much tension in my back and neck. My overall sense of well being really improved. I moved and lost the tape so I searched online to buy it. It's that good!

Summary: good for the beginner
Review: I find all these tapes very elementary, I wish they could be more advanced. Each one I have seen is slow to go, I have been practicing many years, I have done many tapes some hard some easy but these are all the same, easy. the abs tape bored me so much I had to turn it off. Alan Finger is a wonderful yoga teacher if only he would make some tapes for the advanced. His meditation is great, but lets face it I need more.
