Summary: DRIVEL, PURE DRIVEL !!!
Review: Another one in a series of lame, cheap movies from Producers Network Associates (PNA) -- Greystone International -- Danforth Studios -- or whatever the heck they're calling themselves nowadays. "The Deadly Wake" is a deadly bore that stars Michael Pare. In fact Michael Pare seems to star in all the films of these guys and this has had the overall effect of ruining the actor's once promising career.

Here's what you can expect from this movie if you're foolish enough to actually rent or buy it: cheap sets, low-grade script, horrible acting, and special effects which look as though they were put together by a mogoloid monkey. There's absolutely nothing to recommend here, so much so that I'm surprised the "film" even managed to get made. Who on Earth was foolish enough to hand these guys money to make it?

Do yourself a favor and watch static on your TV, you'll get a heck of a lot more enjoyment out of it.

Summary: Who Financed This Mess?
Review: I think our dear Malcolm had some pretty wicked overproof in that bottle and decided to share it with the crew while this film was made. I recommend you drink plently before watching this freaky flick, too.

Basically a bomb and totally incoherant, I gave it an extra star for occasional freakiness. It actually could have been a decent movie, but it just has no structure at all and genuinely makes no sense. Might be worth a peek on late night cable, but look at the price on this issue! That's about the scariest thing of all.

A talking embryo floating in a bottle that talks isn't freaky enough to make it worth sitting through the rest of this film, which seems to have been made as a tax write off. Avoid!!!

Summary: Gotta Love It Deadly
Review: Malcolm McDowel is great in this gutsy small picture with big ideas. Cora Fell (Hidie Von Palleske) tells a haunted mythical tale that links us to times past of pirates and ghost ships, but this is the future and its even darker. In a world where the sky burns orange under global warming even the ocean seems a desert, the ship is navigated by an ugly-cute neural-implanted 90 yr old "baby" in some cyber-knetic fluid. Everyone on this ship is mad, like nuts, some just show it earlier than later.

Michael Pare plays it nicely (he's the bad guy and McDowell the good guy), in fact they all play it straight. I'm sure the filmmakers (the team of Daniel D'or and G. Phillip Jackson, I think they're the same folks who are doing TV's Starhunter) know they are working with low cash, you can see them wink at the audience, but instead of all being toung-in-cheek, they don't cop out, they have fun with the film. Mackenzie Gray is also convincing as a nutso first mate, an explosives expert with a bad case of the nerves.

I for one also really liked Gweneth Walsh (Star Trek -where she also confronted McDowell), she's the sexy manipulator without being typically overt about it, except she was overt about looking like she was having fun.

Very nice cybernetic killing machine the ultimate fem-tek fatale I say. I'd like to see this picture with a bigger budget and tighter editing. Good movie overall.

Summary: This is rare Scientific Fantasy. (Not a Science Fiction)
Review: Most people can't understand my grade to this movie.

This movie is not a Science Fiction. This is too easy to be called as "sience". This is Scientific Fantasy. (There are some other genres like this, ex: Space Fantasy(Star-Wars))

I'd watch this movie on cable TV. I don't know first beginning story.
Surely, most items of this movie are sucks as a Science Fiction.
(Story is sucks as any genre!)
But thay are pretty fantasy mood.
Baby computer is urgly, but it can be watched.
And Proxate building on the sea... that seems to be a dark elf's house on the water.

However, best important thing is the woman who remains foot watermark.
She is a elf. Maybe director set she as a elf.

Last, killingmachine. She is pretty and so sexy! But her action too short. She is best valuable item on this movie.

She is really rare item. This is Japan style character. Dancing killing machine is never seen on other movie. (There are many girl machines, killing machines, and dancing machines, but no dancing-kiling-girl machine)

Story is surelly sucks, but only the mood of movie is best. Dark future, cool misterious, red tone screen, fetish girl, classic elf woman.
And cool design proxate building.
(Two women in proxate were pretty good design.)

Good points of this movie are only these:
1.Girl killing dancer machine(better than killing machine)
2.Foreverly woman
3.Proxate building
4.Nice dark mood. Cool misterious.
5.Evil woman in proxate.

The 'proxate buildiing' and 'sea', and three women(includes machine).
Only these, this movie has value to watch.

But money...?

Summary: If you're not a Malcolm fan, watch something else
Review: The effects are cheesy, most of the acting is downright hilarious but if you're a fan of His Royal Hotness, this isnt a complete waste of time. Malcolm McDowell is dead sexy even if he hasnt shaved in a week and is boozing it up every chance he gets. The plot is convoluted and insane so only the devoted should be watching this... trust me. Sacrifice for Malcolm... :)

Summary: Don't buy or even watch this movie
Review: This could possibly be the worst sci. fi. movie of all time, and not in a "campy" way. Just real real bad, trust me.

Summary: Fun Ride, Wierd Sea
Review: This is a good surprise, its a strange l'l movie, but kept me entertained and intriugued. So it looks like it didn't have the most money in the world, but it kept the surprises coming and a unique SF feel. McDowel is good, Michael Pare is different (A bad guy) and that's OK Gweneth Walsh has fun with her bits. If the regular SF stuff that looks all the same and tells the same story bores you, you'l probably really like this.

The female Killer Cyborg that moves like a dancer is a neat invention.
