Summary: Better than I thought
Review: I originally did not want to see this, but my parents rented it so I thought I'd watch it. It was defintely better than I thought it was going to be. But of course I am an ARNOLD fan! No this isn't a "Total Recall" rip-off, it is completely different.

Summary: Big Shiny Movie
Review: This is a classic Arnold movie, so if you don't like Arnold, you definitely won't like this one because there are two of him. Of course, if you don't like Arnold, why are you here? In any event, I love Arnold. This movie provided most of the Arnoldlocity we have come to expect -- action, humor, fantastic special effects, etc. Arnold plays the same role he always plays: All-American Austrian Guy. He stands for everything we would like to think of ourselves as being, underneath all the layers of fat and tension that is contemporary culture.

The special effects in this movie are smart and a lot of fun to watch. The way the movie uses camera effects to conceal and then tell the story is very cool. And the movie (naturally) sets up its own sequel, but I won't tell you how. The biggest reservation I have is that it didn't really stress me out as much, as in T2. There's a preposterous chase scene at the beginning, for example, that, for all its attempt at glory, just fails to engage me with that panic and wonder that chase scenes are supposed to generate. I think this because it is so over the top; you can practically count how many red Caddilacs they had to destroy to make it. Of course it may be that chase scenes reached their climax way back in the 70s with the greatest of all time in The French Connection. But it's not so long that I ended up tapping my fingers. Also the ending is mildly sluggish and not as cool and nailbitingly relentless as the ending to T2 or T1 for that matter, but what is? Nevertheless, these are small qualms because this movie is one big shiny bag of eye candy from start to finish, and the pace is quick, so I never had to worry too much about one thing because I was already way on to the next thing. (Only action movie fans will know what I mean here.)

The DVD is pretty good, though it doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles. The digital surround sound is excellent and the picture is crisp and widescreen big. Over all, highly recommended for Arnoldites.

Summary: Eh, nice try.
Review: While this film attempts to be thought provoking and surprising, it is really just stupid and predictable. Throughout the whole movie, you can already imagine what is gonna happen in the next 5 minutes, it's that kind of movie. Definetly Arnold's worst, and speaking of Arnold movies, anyone seen Total Recall lately? Recall Corporations? Re-Pet Corporations? Noticing a similarity? There's even more of them, from the opening bedroom scene to the big chase scenes, this is simply a rehash of a much finer work. Instead of informing the viewer about both sides of the cloning debate, this movie takes on the opinion that anyone who wants to clone is an evil megalomaniac out to destroy human kind. I myself am strongly anti-cloning, but since when did other people's opinions become invalid? Think about that when you are hitting the non-helpful button. Try Total Recall instead, or the almighty Terminator, some movies where Arnold doesn't grin every 5 seconds.

Summary: Arnold's best work!A must see movie!
Review: This is one of the best movies I've ever seen! It'll blow you away! The sounds and special effects were awesome! Since Arnold Schwarzenegger is my favorite actor,I decided to go see it at the movies, and it was definetely worth watching on the bigscreen. What was really cool about the movie is that it takes place about five years in the future, which means the movie has really cool technology, from remote controls to access your helicopter,to automatic vehicles that take you to a selected destination.

Summary: Intelligent Action Film.
Review: The Sixth Day is Arnold's best film since Terminator II. While Terminator II had better effects, the 6'th Day is a more insightful and intelligent film which still delivers on the action front.

Its basic premise is well known. In the 6'th day human cloning is possible and practical, it is also illegal. While cloning the biggest fish and fattest cattle has wiped out hunger, cloning of people has been declared illegal.

In this movie, much like reality, however, many people seek ways to skirt the law. From a scientist, played by Robert Duvall, who wants to bring back his dead wife, to professional football teams that want to guarantee their investments; many people find reasons to illegally clone others.

Because cloning is illegal though, what happens to a clone, if the process occurs anyway? In this story, these clones can be legally "destroyed" (read killed) This story centers on a man who was presumed dead and cloned so that no one would know a more famous person was also killed. The problem is, however, that he is still alive.

This is were the movie stays true to the action films that Arnold has made in the past. There are enough car chases, explosions, and fights scenes to satifiy most action viewers. Along the way this movie, for the most part, still remains a very smart film.

For example, there is a company called "re-pet" that can replace a dead pet with a clone, exactly like it. What are all of the ramifications for such a technology? Well, both the good and bad are shown here. The bad points, however, clearly outweight the good ones in the 6'th Day.

The only fault of the 6th day, for me, was the ending which was a little over done. I think it was done that way, to satisfy Arnold's typical fans, but it didn't detract much from the overall film. The 6'th Day is a very good film. Thinking back, after Terminator II and maybe "Total Recall", this is Arnold's third best action film. Watch it, enjoy it, and learn in the process.

Summary: Another Arnold Bombshell
Review: As far as Arnold movies go, this was pretty good! Having been a fan of Arnold all my life, I have never missed one of his movies(except for Junior, what the heck was he thinking). Seeing it advertised in the movie theatre, I thought it might be best to wait until it comes out to video. When i saw it on DVD i coulnd't pass it up. Decent Extras and a solid Arnold plot make this a movie well worth watching. If you liked Total Recall, by far one of the best Arnold movies, you will like this!

Summary: Another Arnold Bombshell
Review: I was skeptical of this movie when I saw it advertised in the movie theatres, so I did not spend any money to go and see it in the theatre. However, having enjoyed every Arnold movie i've ever seen...at least the action and comedy ones...I had to pick it up when it came out to DVD. I was impressed! As far as Arnold movies go, this was very good. The action was intense and the plot, again, as far as Arnold movies go, was fairly good. The movie is also jam-packed with Arnold's trademark grunts, groans, and yells, as well as his one-liners. A good movie over-all and if you are a fan of Arnold movies, especially Total Recall, in which you may see many similiarities, i gaurantee you will enjoy this movie.

Summary: One word : Weird.
Review: Well, I have to admit that this movie had a unique storyline and some excellent scenes. But, it was very odd - in a good way I say that because it makes you think about what future technology may be like; what we will be able to do and have. And, like all Arnold Schwarzenegger films it has much suspense and ofcourse, action. Men will love this movie - believe me! Technology and action put into one movie = WHAT a gift to a man! But, women will also enjoy this film because it truly captures and shows Arnold at his best.

Summary: Where were the critics?
Review: Occasionally I will read the reviews posted by other movie fans which will play a role in my choice of weekly movies to buy. Thank god I didnt listen to the small minded reviewers who were too quick to place the Sixth Day next to Ashtar in the forever bansihed list. I found the SD to be an exciting and fast paced movie that Arnold is known for. From the opening scenes which bring those who have been on a remote desert island for the past few years upto date on the cloning issue. The SD places you right in the middle of movie. Transfer for both audio and video was excellent although I would have liked to have seen a DTS version. The extras on the disc are fantastic. I highly recommend you purchase this movie.
