Summary: Predator, probobly the coolest movie ever[in my opinion]
Review: This is my reiview the the classic movie by Arnlod Schwarzenegger
about a squad of Army Rangers who go and try to get as many American Army hostages from a group of Guerillas. Then, the Native American in the Ranger squad finds the Green Berets the squad was looking for were skinned alive. Not until after some intruge and a firefight did they finally find out about the Predator. The first guy who got it was Poncho, the raidio man. The rest of the movie and the cool end I will not tell beacause it will spoil the suspence. The ovie is rated R for strong language, strong violence and themetic elements

Summary: Yah! Do it!
Review: Predator still holds up as a top notch action film. Actually, it's even more satisying than most action films today, despite the bigger budgets and more resources such films now carry. This is easily one of Arnold's best movies.

Directed by John McTiernan (before he would go on to helm two Die Hard movies) Predator begins with an elite squad of American commandos travelling to the jungles of South America to rescue some politicians who have been captured by terrorists. These scenes are great. It's pure Arnold 80s action as he and his crew of professional maniacs blast their way through the jungle. Arnold has quality one liners, Jesse 'The Body' Ventura carries a minigun that is the most effective defoliation tool I've seen in a long time, and none other than Apollo Creed straps on a gun as well.

Then the second part of the movies comes when Arnold finds the grisly, skinned remains of other American soldiers. Looks like there's more than terrorists around, and before long the men are being picked off by an unseen enemy that is actually a seriously ugly but tough alien that's come to earth for hunting season.

We never learn much about the predator (and neither do the soldiers) but it doesn't matter because the film moves at a fast clip and the action is bloody and exciting. Along the way the men pick up a woman who has seen the jungle 'come alive' and kill one of the men in a tense sequence; the predator can cloak his moves and disguise himself as the jungle.

This is a great example of a pure action movie where you're not asked to think about it too long (and it's probably advisable that you don't.) I mean, given the advantages of the predator--the size, the strength, the speed, the cloaking, the weaponry, including a shoulder mounted laser guided gun--you wonder why he would come all the way to earth to hunt. And to think these are trained soldiers and they don't put up much of a fight.

Except for the Governator. It doesn't take long for Arnold to become shirtless and smeared in mud as he dukes it out with the predator, shouting classic lines like "C'mon! DO IT!"

The movie has many recommendation points, but honestly, it's not like you'll pick this one up by accident. You're in for a fast, bloody, well made and well acted action film that delivers the goods. The supporting cast is strong as well, including Shane Black (the screenwriter(!)), and Sonny Landham as Billy, the connected-to-the-Earth American Indian who is in touch with the alien's moves early on.

This movie gets a solid DVD treatment in the sound and picture department, but this is a movie that begs for extras. I have no doubt a Special Edition will appear one day.

Highly recommended for action (and Arnold fans).

Summary: "I Ain't Got Time To Bleed!"
Review: One of Arnold's best films outside of Conan and Terminator. Also a great action star line-up with Jesse Ventura and Carl Weathers. The characters seem like GI-Joe action figure stereotypes but the script and action sequences make them believable and entertaining. Even with the mystery of the predator being gone, I still get thrills every time I see this movie: not to mention laughs at the humorous dialogue; "I'm gonna have me some fun! I'm gonna have me some fun!"

The special effects are still great after all of this time and the music really carries on the suspense. Altogether one of the greatest sci-fi films ever made! I've watched this movie a hundred times and I stil enjoy it.

Summary: Sci-fi Action Thriller
Review: Predator is one of the best sci-fi action thrillers I've ever seen. It's definitely in my top ten sci-fi movies as number 3, with Aliens (at number 2) and the original Star Wars (number 1) ahead of it. As you may or may not know Predator is an alien bounty hunter from another planet who has come to Earth to hunt the human race. In the film, Major Dutch Sheafer (Arnold Schwarzenegger) and his team of CIA operatives (Jesse "The Body" Ventura, Carl Weathers, and a few others) have been called on by the U.S. government to go to South America to rescue a group of hostages being held captive by a secret guerrilla army. Upon rescuing the captives, Dutch and his group stumble across a strange being lurking in the jungle. As one member of Dutch's group could remember, the jungle just seemed to "come to life"(you and I all know it was the predator with his camoflage armor). One by one, Dutch's group is picked off by the alien creature until it is just him and the Predator, duking it out in one, final showdown. Before I spoil the ending, I'd like to say that Predator is nothing short of great. You like Arnold and Sci-fi films, Predator is just right.

Summary: Awesome, simply AWESOME.
Review: Love the movie. I don't know if it gets better then predator. Ever hear of the game Aliens vs. Predator? Well, predator rules. I mean aliens rocks, but the predator is crazy. Basically Arnold is the man. He is the guy to take down the Predator. There isn't that much talking later in the movie, mostly because there is a vicious killer running around, but there is defintely a sence of... fever. Jungle fever to be exact.

Arnold is great in this role. He plays the bad boy gunner perfectly well. He doesn't try to act toooo bad, but he does a great job of taking down the baddies. Anyways, the predator is basically a stealth, nuclear bomb, killer, hunting type creature. It looks like an alien got squashed and swollen or something. Actually it isn't as scary as the aliens, but it is creepy.

Compared to Predator 2? Its not even a comparison, this movie rocks compared to Predator 2. DTS really adds to it. The Predator could wipe out a city block, and its really cool to see Arnold take him on. 5 o 5 stars.

Summary: Raises Some Profound Questions
Review: At one level, this is an interesting action flick with a twist -- an intriguing situation on Earth is suddenly upgraded into a battle between interplanetery species. Deeper down, however, this movie raises some profound questions about human interaction. Arnold and his team considered themselves to be under attack from this foreign individual, and in several instances it's fair to say they were terrorized. The terrorist creature killed everyone on the team but Arnold, who thus remained as humanity's sole representative. Arnold chose unilaterally to attack, with the intent of killing, the foreign individual. Arnold did not consult the United Nations, or attempt to assemble a coalition -- he merely attacked, his goal being to neutralize the threat. Arnold NEVER paused to ask, "Why does he hate us?" In the end, the threat was wiped out completely, and Arnold was safe again (as was the world, until Predator II) -- but was this truly how we want to deal with such situations? Shouldn't diplomatic channels have been explored? Shouldn't we negotiate with folks such as this? Shouldn't we take into account cultural differences, in an effort to be more compassionate, inclusive and diverse? What message does it sent to predatory murdering terrorists, if you simply kill them? Don't about half of us (per a survey conducted November 2000) pretty much think the best way to deal with terrorist predators is to do yoga, sit in the corner wringing our hands and ask ourselves why they hate us?

Summary: One of the most unproffesional of sci/fic Action movies...
Review: Ok. first of all, TIMEOUT! I don't understand why everybody is giving such a great deal about this movie. The directing is shallow and the characters have irelivent dialog scenes that are not contributing a shred to the movie plot. And the background for the movie is also a messup. We see the Predator spaceship in space hedding to earth, then cut sence to mission briefing. (We believe that something terribly wrong is linked with that spaceship we saw at the opening credits).
Introducing Schwarzenegger in Helicopter (big 'terminator' glasses, a hat and a sigar - couldn't get any better cliche then this). Meets up his old war friend, run a few jokes on each other, nostalgie runs thrugh the air, bla bla... then they enters an argument about our hero working alone with his team on missions they get and concludes by saying "we are a rescue team, not killers.." let's go to the Terrorist ambush sence for a sec. Our hero had a pretty good tactic of setting the wholl camp on fire with no taking prisoners and one sorvivor which Delean ensisted on taking with him. 'Anyone care to explaine?'
And I had a preety hard time understanding the chain of command in the groop. Apperantly there are 2 Sargents: Schwarzenegger and the long-hair indian. ???
Delean apperantly don't know spanish, but he's babbling once a vesy long sentance in this language to the girl.???
Talking with the sorvivor we realize that theres an 'Ancient Legent' about the predator. That he lives in the jungle for centuries. (Are we having second thoughts about the spaceship?)
Our black cubby friend from the groop was a friend of the big tugh who got killed. They havn't talked a single word in the entire movie.???
There are more, believe me. In short, the movie was a disapointment to me.

Summary: Fantastic Dan and Bugster say "this movie rocks!"
Review: An excellent movie. Easily one of the best action movies ever made. I mean what else could you want from a movie- Arnold Schwartzeneger, Apollo Creed, Govenor Ventura, a minigun, lots of explosions, cool one liners(Stick Around!), and a really cool rasta alien.
P.S. The movie is awsome but it is not scary. It isn't trying to be a horror movie. ...
