Rating: Summary: Entertaining sci-fi action flick Review: As Arnold movies go, this one has a relatively good story. It is somewhat reminiscent of "Total Recall" with its futuristic sci-fi bent and guess-the-identity plot, but it is better because it broaches some interesting ethical considerations regarding human cloning. Of course, this IS an Arnold movie so it doesn't bother to weigh itself down with profundities, but it adds a little intellectual meat to his stock in trade, and that is a plus. The script is a bit predictable with numerous tip-offs as to which is the real Adam Gibson and which is the clone. However, there are enough interesting subplots to keep the viewer engaged. Director Roger Spottiswoode ("Air America", "Tomorrow Never Dies") strikes a good balance between drama and action and paces the film well. Arnold fans might find the action sequences a bit tame by comparison to some of his other films, but there is plenty to keep the average action junkie happy. The cast is generally solid. Arnold is the same old Arnold, flexing his biceps and constantly flashing his well-spaced front teeth charmingly between action sequences. His acting in this film is better than usual, giving his character both strength and vulnerability with a hint of tongue in cheek humor thrown in. Michael Rapaport provides most of the comic relief in his bits with the virtual girlfriend. Tony Goldwyn is hatefully nefarious as the manipulative magnate who runs a rogue cloning factory. Robert Duvall is excellent, as always, as the scientist with a conscience. Overall, this is an entertaining film with an interesting premise. I rated it a 7/10. The area of cloning is fertile ground on which to build a more serious story, but it serves as a good backdrop for this basic good v. evil action film.
Rating: Summary: Entertaining - 3 and 1/2 stars Review: Arnold's best film since Eraser and stuff blows up real good!! The Arnold plays a commercial pilot in the near future who gets mixed up in a cloning conspiracy. A good, solid action flick. It was a little airheaded in regards to the science-fiction angle of the story, but I was entertained. Isn't that the whole point anyway?
Rating: Summary: To BOB Review: Too bad BOB spoiled the ending for everyone who wanted to read his review BEFORE they made up their mind to rent it.
Rating: Summary: Perhaps Totall Recall 2 would be more appropriate? Review: Funny that I didn't see too much about this movie when it came out...I guess the critics were a little finicky that week. Great all around Arnold movie...the plot is believeable and compelling...The acting, on par with what you'd expect of this type of movie...Arnolds one-liners were kept to a bare minimum, the comic relief came from the supporting cast of characters, which at times had me rolling... Action scenes were first rate, and the special effects excellent... Some of the ideas for advancements in that time were very innovative, but had you thinking that they could be just around the corner...Excellent all around action movie that I'd recommend to anyone...not just Arnold fans.
Rating: Summary: I enjoyed this film . That's all. Review: At first ,since The 6th Day is starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, I think this film must be an action film. I don' like an action film with no plot. Although this film has many action scenes , this has a good story line which must impress you. I recommend this film to everyone.
Rating: Summary: Typical Arnold=You get your moneys worth Review: Even though the movie didn't quit live up to its potential at the box office, If you're an Arnold fan you won't be dissatisfied with this movie. He maybe older, but he can still pump out the good movies. Any time you mix Arnold and good special effects you have got good chemistry. This is a must for you DVD collection.
Rating: Summary: Yuck Review: Does Arnold belong to a religion that forbids him to take part in movies that don't suck? Well, I forgot about "Jingle All The Way" - a masterpiece. Oh yeah, and "End of Days", totally thought-provoking. I think the Conan spoof said it best - one should take a "stupid pill" to enjoy this. I can just see the screenwriter coming up with the idea - "Hey, cloning is gaining public interest, let's make a cookie cutter sci-fi/thriller about it. But of course we'll have to dumb it down, insert bad jokes, get Arnold and try to save it with special effects. SCORE!"
Rating: Summary: All the extras ripped out. Basically a standalone movie now Review: Columbia has just announced a rather surprising downgrade and street date change for the upcoming The 6th Day DVD. Poor Arnie, he just can't get a break lately, can he? Columbia will be dropping "The Future is Coming" HBO First Look special, plus the 10 featurettes, the 3 storyboard-to-film comparisons and the 2 animatics. The remaining features still on the disc include the isolated music track with composer Trevor Rabin with commentary; the "Re-Pet" infomercial, talent files, production notes, trailers and TV spots. Columbia is lowering the price of the disc to $24.95, and will be removing the "Special Edition" banner from all advertising and the packaging. The street date has also been bumped to 3/27.
Rating: Summary: arnie finally came back Review: im a life-long fan of arnold's movies. he always beats alot of bad guys into the ground and always has time to make a few jokes. this movie is all about that..with a sense of imagination. everyone's comparing it to total recall but i think that just because its another film a few years into the future, doesnt mean its the same. in this arnold classic, we have a family man who is cloned. without realizing it he comes home to find the clone has taken over his life. and we all know that arnold never stands for this. the movie is quite colorful along an action-based scenerio. you will definitely laugh during this movie, as well as enjoy the spectacles in the fight scenes and car chases. dont let the pg-13 rating fool you. just because theres a few less swears and a bit less blood shed, doesnt mean arnold has lost his touch. our hero does a good share of pounding heads in this flick, but dont take my word for it, buy this movie today!
Rating: Summary: ACTION WITH AGE!!! Review: There's nothing like seeing a good movie with Arnold in it (for the love of humanity, stop calling him Arnie!!!!!) This movie not only features explosive action, but also touches on the impending issues of human cloning. But who really steals the show are Drucker's deadly agents, always on Arnold's trail, and always dying. And at last, an isolated score by the best new composer, Trevor Rabin. That alone is worth the price of the DVD
