Summary: Brilliant
Review: I went 4 years before I saw the Matrix. The only reason I did was because my 14 yr. old son rented it, and that was 5 days ago. I can't believe I went that long before seeing it. Brilliant storytelling. It took me seeing it twice before I really understood the movie, but I must say I was blown away by not only the story but the acting and action were fantastic. That being said, Reloaded is twice as much fun, and the storytelling just keeps getting better. I don't understand the bad reviews i've seen for Reloaded by some people. I think they just don't really get the movie. Neo flies, sure, but he's the 'ONE.'This is one of those rare movies where the sequel is better then the original. Can't wait for Revolution.

Summary: Five Stars, but almost Four
Review: There are the people that were devastated after seeing Reloaded, and those that enjoyed it. You rarely find the "in-betweens". That's because you will either like or not like Matrix Reloaded depending on why you are watching it, and what you like in a movie. If you are looking for pure entertainment value and action, this movie reigns with the best. If you are someone that always deconstructs a plot and analyzes it to make sure it is to your liking, then you may have disappointment with Reloaded. It's not that the movie doesn't have a good plot, it just may not be what some expected it would be. I enjoyed the movie because I just WATCHED it to enjoy it. Some people, when waiting for a sequel to a great movie, will spend time trying to figure out what will happen, and determining what they think SHOULD happen... and then when the movie takes them totally off-guard, and ends up being something completely different than he/she expected, sometimes that is devastating to the watcher. If you are someone that just enjoys a fun flick with interesting banter and great action sequences, you'll love the movie. I recommend it.

Summary: it's been loaded once, don't have to be reloaded again
Review: only one question and one afterthought: if the science and the technique in this movie is so advanced, why people still have to do the fistfighting, kickboxing, and all the unnecessary physical hand-to-hand combat? it's just like watching christopher walken's 'prophesy', similar question arised during viewing: if angels are so powerful, why they still have to FIST fight one on one? same to 'star trek': why all the people, aliens or non-aliens, only their heads looked different, but still talked in english? well, if star trek is played on latino channels, then all the aliens or non-aliens would speak the same spanish. if matrix was loaded once, why it has to be reloaded again and again? making more money out of the pockets of all we boring morons (like us), silly. so, loaded or not loaded, or reloaded, it's not the question you have to ask yourself or others. if you're loaded, you can afford buying the expensive tickets again and again, making the producers and the players become more and more loaded and reloaded.

Summary: Keanu Reeves returns into Matrix for high kicking action.
Review: I am not a big fan of The Matrix (1999), but I did like Keanu Reeves in Speed (1994) and other films he did. I watched Matrix only for the much-hyped CGI effects. I thought the first film was overlong anf boring. Sorry, but Carrie-Anne Moss does not intrigue me. I thought the story of Matrix was interesting enough that I will watch the sequel Matrix Reloaded, the second film in the series. What ran through my mind was the physical aspect and difficulties Keanu Reeves had to endure. All those high leg kicks and in the mid-air contraptions he had to use for special effects. I wonder how the poor man (oops, rich) felt at the end of the day. Could he barely walk? Could he sleep with the leg and hip cramps? Keanu is suffering more than what Christopher Reeve did during Superman (1978). I enjoyed the scenes with Gloria Foster in the courtyard set. The scene where the Matrix sequences goes between the legs of the blonde woman, you will notice the letters e x s s e, then e becomes an x, then the burst. This sequel actually held my interest and I will watch the third film. Did not like the acid rock music at end credits. Disc One, the movie. Disc two contains, "The Preload"--interviews with the cast, a 21-minute featurette. "Matrix Unfolds" is a five-minute featurette on "The Animatrix". "Freeway Chase" is a 30-minute featurette on the making of the freeway chase scenes. "Get Me An Exit" is a nine-minute featureete on the "Powerade" commercials and the Samsung Matrix phones. "Enter The Matrix: The Game" is a 28-minute featurette on the making of the video game. Followed by the third film: Matrix: Revolutions (2003).

Summary: Subtlety, the problem is subtlety...
Review: Like millions, I was blown away by The Matrix in 1998, and when I heard they were making the sequels, I was dizzy with anticipation. When I saw Reloaded I thought, well, not exactly The Phantom Menace but it's no Two Towers. It's not exactly garbage, but it certainly did not live up to its predecessor. It took me a while to figure out why I was so disappointed. As many pointed out, the Zion orgy thing was unnecessary, and the fights, which looked nice, didn't get the story going. I totally agreed with Trinity when she said "Come on, get OUT of there!!" But I realized that what bothered me most was that Reloaded had no subtlety. The actors were drowned in a sea of digital what-nots, and the main themes were a bit too "Hey!! Look at me! I'm the main theme! I'm the most important word in this movie!!" Love, choice, and purpose, purpose, purpose. Did Smith have to say it over and over again? And the France-bashing was just plain annoying. I don't expect a thing from movies like Maid in Manhattan and Johnny English, but I thought the Wachowskis were SMART people. They made the Good Guys From The Bronx vs. The Bad Guys From Paris And Other Parts Of Europe thing a bit too obvious. But in the end, I bought the DVD and saw Reloaded several times. especially the good scenes that were more subtle. Anytime the Oracle is on screen, it's great. Gloria What's-her-name is fabulous. Too bad she's passed away. Monica Bellucci is too hot for words, even to a 100% heterosexual woman like me. The little seduction in the men's bathroom was great too. Keanu's curt 'alright's really made me a fan. And the Architect's monologue was shocking, convincing me that the Wachowskis are pretty original people after all. The Twins weren't bad either; actually they were really cool. I miss them already. While the abrupt ending made me feel like somebody pulled the carpet away under my feet, I've decided to let go of the disappointment and wait for what the boys have to offer in Revolutions. I really hope that George Lucas will be the only filmmaker who made fans rile and foam and tear their hair out.

Summary: What's the Big Deal?
Review: I saw this film during a recent trip to New York and found it so totally uninteresting that I walked out. Yes, it has plenty of impressive special effects, but there's no sustantive story to speak of. This is a classic Hollywood example of FX and very loud sound superceding plot. I found it a shallow waste of time.

Summary: Reloaded is an unusual sequal, It's great
Review: Matrix reloaded is awsome. The background is like the original Matrix and it has loads of new story twists. I also like the fact that now Neo has already been astablished as "The One" the storyline dosn't have to waste time setting that up, and now that Neo knows he's "The One" he has realized all the things he can do and instead of the shock of realizing the world he has lived in is a lie, the shock of getting used to the real world and his doubts about he being The One, now he knows he's The One and realizes everything he can do and instead of reacting to everything he is alot more proactive.

Summary: Entertaining and disappointing
Review: "The Matrix Reloaded" is neither as bad as many fans on the site would lead you to believe nor as good as the $200,000,000 spent to produce and market it. It is a very entertaining and thought-provoking film, while it also has some deep flaws that take away from the overall viewing experience. The greatest flaw of all is the refusal of the directors to cut ANYTHING. Many scenes in this film could have and should have been cut. "Reloaded" would have been a lot better if it was a leaner and meaner 110 minutes instead of 138. First and foremost, the whole Zion part of the film should have been shorter. The orgy/dance scene should have been cut in half. And the scene where Neo talks with the counsellor probably could have been cut completely. And the Agent Smith fight scenes??? Though they were quite thrilling, they didn't advance the plot whatsoever. I realize that it was important do introduce Smith in this film because it looks like he'll be important in the next one, but still, these fight scenes should have been cut down a little! Likewise, other characters (like the Merovingian) are introduced and then forgotten about. What was the nature of the conflict between the Merovingian and the Oracle? I guess we're supposed to find out in the third one, which brings me to the film's final flaw- the ending is in a very bad spot. I realize that it was supposed to be a "cliffhanger", but this film ends so abruptly that it just makes the rest of it seem that much more incomplete. I guess I can't completely judge "Reloaded" until "Revolutions" comes out. That's the problem- no one can. What makes this movie so frustrating is that when it's good, it's REALLY good. Some of the fight scenes are terrific, and the story is both convoluted and thrilling. "Reloaded" is a film that's both entertaining and fun to talk about (hence the 1000-plus reviews). It's just not as good as the first one, no matter how hard it tries to be. One can't help but feel when watching this movie that the filmakers are trying too hard to replicate the originality of the first one- they end up with a film that is terrific eye candy and mind-boggling, but overlong and pretentious. Sometimes, bigger is not better. Here's hoping that "Revolutions" answers some of this film's problems.

Summary: Troubled production held back potential
Review: I am a huge fan of The Matrix and while I enjoyed the sequel "Reloaded" it didn't have quite the same punch as the original. I believe a lot of this was due to numerous problems during the shooting of Reloaded i.e. the untimely deaths of Gloria Foster (The Oracle) and Aliyah (would have played Niobe), plus the actors strikes would have thrown some, or a lot, of the production into disarray. This is why I feel there were a number of "filler" scenes, such as the dance at Zion and the length of some of the fights, which while very cool, did carry on maybe a bit longer than warranted. I do believe a lot of unused footage may have ended up on the cutting room floor, particularly with Niobe's character. Some people complain that Morpheus' character has changed, well of course he has, for Morpheus his life's quest is coming to a conclusion and as far as he is concerned the Messiah walks amongst them. Who can blame him for having a "holier than thou" attitude? Even though I felt Reloaded fell a little short of the original, there is still enough in Reloaded to bake your noodle if you care to wrap your mind around it, although there are not as many subtle touches as in the first movie. As with the original, it took a repeat viewing for some of the subtleties to actually gel for me, and if you aren't paying attention, particularly during the scene with "The Architect", you can be left quite confused with how Reloaded ends. Saying that, The Matrix Reloaded was always intended to be a back to back release with The Matrix Revolutions which is why the story was left so open ended and the release dates are so close together. No doubt in the final movie of the trilogy we will find all the secrets revealed but here are some tips for you: *possible spoilers ahead* Do some internet searches on Merovingian Mythology

Some people think that Zion has already been destroyed at the end of Reloaded. It hasn't been.
The introduction of "Exile" programs is significant
Watch "The Animatrix" (collection of short animations) it too explains some of the story People can have a lot of enjoyment talking about The Matrix and what the various parts and nuances mean with debates running for years. For those who think they shouldn't have to "dissect" a movie, they are missing out on what all the fun of The Matrix is about.
