Summary: This is a perfect movie
Review: Godzilla is the perfect movie. It has sonething for everyone. Its got action, suspense, romance, great special effects, humor, and it even has cool guys from France (who would have thought the French could be cool). The casting is perfect. Matthew Broderick is perfect as "the worm guy." Maria Pitalo is perfect as the ex-girlfriend. She's also cute, totally cute. Jean Reno is perfect as the head of the French Secret Service. The ending, like "old Yeller," will rip your heart out (if you cried after they shot Old Yeller, you'd better grab a Kleenex, you'll cry when they shoot Godzilla) unless you are in control of your emotions. The DVD format is the perfect medium for a movie of this caliber. The extras, however, are far from perfect. Its difficult to navigate on the menu and you have to click your selection several times in order to get anywhere (at least thats how it was with my DVD player). In conclusion, you should buy the DVD for the movie and forget about the extras (unless of course you're a fan of the Wallflowers and you haven't seen the video for "Heroes").

Summary: If only ...
Review: If they'd called it something else - say, IGUANZILLA - I might have gone to see it in the theatres. But I KNEW they'd screw up the look and feel of the legend.

GODZILLA without:
- strontium 90 breath and glowing spines
- moody soundtrack which has been consistent since the '54 original
- regeneration which makes him almost invulnerable
- cheezy human super-weapons
- 'evil' monster opponent (optional)
just isn't the Godzilla which has captured the imagination of a couple of generations of theatre goers. Any more than trying to do a remake of A CHRISTMAS CAROL and leaving out Tiny Tim and the Ghosts. MAYBE a potential sequel could be saved IF we find out the newly-hatched baby has mutated yet more and turns out being more like the Japanese version. Oh, and hire the guy who orchestrated the Japanese version's soundtrack, too.

Summary: It was just as bad as I though it was, and then some
Review: Gee, this movie sure was pitiful. Not only was the lizard unrealistic looking, it was the typical average unimaginative green thing with mega fingernails. Where's the creativity? As usual, remakes of old masterpieces flop, and this is a prime example.

Summary: Didn't live up to the hype
Review: Godzilla was a good movie but didn't come close to the hype the makers made it to be. Matthew Broderick could have picked a better role for himself than this one. If this movie had lived up to even half of its hype, it would have weel some movie.

Summary: Too much focus on special effects!
Review: The old Godzilla movies had character. I grew up seeing them as a kid and thought Godzilla was great. This movie just focused on special effects and forgot about giving Godzilla some life. They should have put some humor and character into Godzilla in this movie.

Summary: It wasn't to my expectations
Review: I'd say that this movie wasn't to my expectations. It was good in some parts, but I thought it would be a little better. I must agree with other watchers and say there was no plot. People pretty much just ran away from a big foot and you never saw the monster. I would have rather been with my brother watching "Barney's Great Adventure".

Summary: over all album is good
Review: The over mix of the album clashes. Not to crazy about rap, but there are some great new songs and bands like Fuzzbubble.

Summary: The Best Movie Ever!!!!!!!!
Review: I loved this movie. I saw it five times in the theature, I have both the DVD version and the VHS version. This movie has a lot for it the effects, stars, and the non stop action. The critics said it stunck but I ignored them and went to go see it. The critics almost ever get there reviews right. This was a great movie The Best I've Seen so I highly recomend it.

Summary: The rape of a legend
Review: I could handle the bad acting and the thin plot. What would you expect from a Godzilla movie? What really is horrible is the way that id4's creators and Toho's executives allowed some guy named Tatopoulos turn the big guy into a spiked iguana with a chin that makes it look like Jay Leno. As a fan of all that is Godzillian (I am fourteen and saw my first Godzilla flick when I was two), I have come to expect some things from a godzilla movie that this movie spat on. Examples: Godzilla does breath fire. Godzilla is not vulnerable to humanity's weapons. Godzilla was created by American nuclear testing (what's the deal with all those French guys?). The tribute to Tomoyuki Tanaka at the end of the credits is a laugh. He's probably rolling over in his grave thanks to this mutilation of his creation.
