Summary: One really great blockbuster!
Review: This is a good movie, unworthy of all the negative hissing everyone throws on it. It's got great effects, some questionable acting, but a lot of action! People aren't willing to admit they like Godzilla, not only King of the Monsters but King of the Guilty Pleasures, but you have to admit that "Size does matter". A film beaten by sky-high expectations, that is one of the reasons we have stereo sound.

Summary: Hmmmm. Let's look at what it had to offer.
Review: Godzilla was fun, but not intelligent. The cinematography was good, the only good acting was Hank Azaria as Animal. Everyone else had a stereotypical personality. Big G looked great. To be honest, I wished that the writers refrained from showing his full body until much later in the movie. I liked the bits and pieces of him that you saw at first. It kind left the rest to your imagination. I didn't like the crowd scenes though. Everybody was just running around like idiots, only doing it because the director told them to. None of their fear looked legit. It was campy, stupid, yet entertaining fun. It could have stocked up on brains before it went for the special effects.

Summary: GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!
Review: Ok, people and supposed fans of Godzilla. Time to get this record straight once and for all. This movie WAS EXCELLENT! and I will explain why. I have been a Godzilla fan for most of my life and I can say I was not let down one bit. All of you "Fans" of Godzilla who were expecting this big spectacle were supposedly let down and you call it the "wost movie ever made". I have seen a lot of horrible movies and this doesn't come close. The effects are perfect (although, I understand the problems with the baby 'zillas, I didn't neccessarily like them) and the story.....well....lets talk about the story a little bit. You complain about the story...the "plot"....Do you know what a "plot" is? It is the general idea of the story. Every Godzilla movie ever made has and always will be - "Godzilla rises from the water trashes a city, and maybe fights another monster". If anything, this new movie had too MUCH plot. What were you expecting people? Some weird love triangle between Broderick, the dumb-blonde, and Godzilla, maybe? or howabout this....Someone kills Godzilla in the first 5 minutes and the rest of the movie is a "Who's the killer" with a whole bungh of pretty teens, which seems to be the newest fad. I don't think any of you "true fans" know a lick of what the heck you are talking about. You obviously don't know what Godzilla was meant to be. I'm sorry though...I take it back. Your right. Godilla looks real, its horrible. Its DOESN'T look like a guy in a rubber suit....what a crappy movie.

It is apparent to me that the world expects too much these days. A movie just can't be cool any more with out having a mindbending plot. too bad most of you are too stupid to figure out a mindbending plot if it had one. For the record: the original Godzilla and its remake, Godzilla '85 were both flops when they first came out......now look at them. I recommend this movie to anyone who wants to see a really cool and excellently designed monster totally rip up a city. Ignore the horrible little blonde and buy this movie.

Summary: one of the worst of the decade
Review: Godzilla was the worst film of 1998 and is one of the worst in the past nine years. I could go on and on with the problems, the main ones being: This film really tried to copy the Jurassic Park films and it failed miserably. I have no idea how come so many critics predicted this movie would gross over 250 million dollars. Audiences have already gotten their fill with giant lizards in the past summers. Another problem was that the characters were too corny and they act stupid. Only Jean Reno seemed realistic as the French CIA agent. The "humor" in this movie is horrid. Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich think people who mispronounce Tatopoulos is funny? There were a lot of illogical scenes in the movie. Sometimes Godzilla is huge, but then he also manages fit into a small tunnel. He can breathe fire somehow but rarely, rarely uses it and he had many opportunities to use it. Devlin and Emmerich have sorely failed in their sci-fi attempts. The only decent film they made was Stargate. The two of them should make more adventurous films like that with a mind-boggling puzzle. I've already read that they are going to make a sequel to Godzilla. I seriously doubt many people will want to see it, only fans of special effects.

Summary: I love this movie
Review: I love this movie and I think that if the old godzilla's, with the cheezy special effects, get a good review then why doesn't this one. The special effects are great.
