Summary: I'M SICK OF THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: This movie was awesome! And the critics bombarded it like they expected it to be some sort of Shakespearean masterpiece or something! It's a big lizard smashing New York into rubble, and for that it's incredible! The actings okay, the plot is typical, the action is nonstop, and the special effects are the best since JURASSIC PARK. P.S. thanks to Joel Siegle and Kevin Thomas for giving this movie the credit it deserves. Oh, and for more awesome special effects and okay evrything else, get ANACONDA!

Summary: See it again!
Review: Solid monster noir, with a title creature who's character traits rivals the best work of Ray Harryhausen, no joke! A nolstalgic celebration of 50's atomic monster movies imploded unto 90's eyeball kicks, with none of the cynicism of Armageddon. Best Cg creature of all time!

Summary: Americans Botch Japanese Treasure
Review: Ugggghh! What a waste of time and money.Hollywood thinks that all you have to do to update a movie is to add computer effects. There's no need for a script or actors who can act (shame on you Mathew Broderick). This movie is particularly painful for any true Godzilla fan. Leave Godzilla movies to the Japanese, because Hollywood doesn't "get it".

Summary: GINO! I thought you were Japanese, not Italian. '-)
Review: GINO; "Godzilla In Name Only", that is.

But really?

Despite all the running down of this movie by us so called Godzilla fans, the movie is a Godzilla movie and always will be. I must admit I was somewhat less than enthused when I saw it in the movie theater (twice) but I always did leave the theater giggling. Probably because it was *so* weak; a comically lame attempt. But maybe it was just my reaction to unfullfilled promise and disappointed anticipation. Since getting the movie on video, however, it has grown on me to an extent and while certainly not amongst the best Godzilla movies ever made, it certainly isn't the worst. Far better than say, Son of Godzilla or Godzilla vs. Megalon.

So, while it isn't all that great, it isn't all that bad either. And one must remember that Toho themselves have made some real stinkers staring the big Guy. Thus I place it solidly in mid-pack.

Hopefully when D&E do a sequel, they'll learn from the success, both critical and rating, of the Fox cartoon series and incorporate appropriate changes.

Summary: IT WAS A GOOD MOVIE
Review: Too many people expected too mutch from this movie; it was a good one. Sure it didnt have the best story, but it was still entertaining

Summary: OK Movie, Excellent Special Effects
Review: I own this DVD and I must say, OK movie, Excellent Special Effects. While the story and acting was only average, I was blown away by the special effects and sound. Powerful bass sounds fill the movie. Just the thing to show off the new subwoofer in my Dolby Digital Home theater. So if you're in for a high tech thrill go for this movie, but if you're just in for the movie (without the exciting stuff) look else where.

Summary: This Stinks!!!
Review: All that hype...for what? This movie stinks like a clogged up toilet! Thia cheesefest was all special effects and dumb one liners! And who would ever believe that cab chase scene at the end?

Summary: Rage Against the Machine all the way!!!!!!!
Review: Hey sup? I hated the movie, but love the Wallflowers song, and Days of the New, Rage Against the Machine, Puff Daddy. I like basically the whole cd EXCEPT Jamiroqaui he really needs to lean how to write music a little better!. It is a good soundtrack if you enjoy metal/rap/alternitive music. GET IT! I love RAGE! -Val K.

Summary: Puff Daddy's song makes this albumn a hit.
Review: This albumn has some really awesome bands and they all seem to put alot into it. Puff Daddy's "Come with me" is the highlight of this CD and the two scores at the end of the soundtrack are just as good. All the rest just seem to be average.

Summary: I wrote a monter story when I was 6.It was better than this.
Review: Whether you view it as a re-make, an update or a film on its own with no connections to earlier movies, the 1998 Godzilla is a mess. Alright, let's face it, you don't associate monster films with complex plots, but this is just braindead material. The better of the Japanese Godzilla films always had some kind of a plot. This is no more than a rampage-through-city rehash of every done-to-death idea in the cliche book. It makes the 1997 Lost World look like it was written by Edger Rice Burroughs by comparison. The 'plot' is also full of holes - namely the impossibly small one the big Godzilla beast disappears into right in the middle of a city. And why would it lay its eggs in the middle of a city in the first place?

Characterisation is non-existent. The big fella is just a T-Rex with longer arms whilst the human characters seem to be men in rubber suits, maybe with the exception of the 'evil foreigner' who comes across as the only living being in the film. And those baby Godzillas! I think the Japanese one looked more convincing! After a lot of tedious wandering about our inspiring and charismatic heroes are attacked by pixelated Raptor lookalikes which have the power to walk on thin air just above the ground. No really.

So size doesn't matter, eh? Well, my little dinos, that's just as well seeing as you need an IQ of less than 12 to enjoy this film. At least the worst of the original Godzilla films were entertainingly bad. This is just bad period. And I hear a sequel is planned. Must we continue dragging the world of monster movies any lower?
