Summary: WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME!!!!!!
Review: Call me crazy, but for some odd reason I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!! I have always been a HUGE Godzilla fan, and when the movie first hit the theatres, I had heard how disappointing it was compared to the original Godzilla. When I saw the movie, I thought it was mildly entertaining. But just recently, I watched it once again, and I realized how much I loved this movie! It may be the way GINO (as much as I love this monster, I refuse to call it Godzilla) looked, or the whole atmosphere of the movie (The dark, rainy, Blade Runner-like atmosphere), or the cool scenes where GINO is destroying New York, but I just became fascinated with the movie! It just all seemed to pull together and come off as a cool movie. But no matter how much I love this film, the real Godzilla is still the best, and no matter how much I love GINO, the real Big G will always hold a very special place in my heart; 300 feet above GINO.

Summary: "That's a lot of Fish"
Review: I see this movie is not a favorite to others but it is a favorite with me. They did not show Godzilla too early into the movie because they were building up the suspense, instead showing hints of his size and the damage he could inflict (The first boat attack, claw marks, foot prints, the 3 tug boats, big waves, loud groans). They showed how he became Godzilla, great characters, action, the humor was a little dry, nice ending hinting to a sequel that probably never will be (with these producers anyway). Overall I really liked it, I thought it flowed well and it kept my attention. I think everyone was expecting something more, bigger or maybe more violence - who knows, but if you want more, I suggest renting the older more boring Godzilla movies.

Summary: awful awful movie
Review: Words cannot describe this over-hyped, high budget disaster. Godzilla in New York sounds like a great idea, too bad 'great' never made it to any of the other levels. The whole thing is ridiculous, from Matthew Broderick collecting home pregnancy kits, to mini-Godzillas taking over Madison Square Garden. Brave French fighters join in on the act (ha ha ha!!!!!). They left a loophole at the end to make a sequel, just pray that it never happens. The Japanese should be scratching their heads wondering what the hell Hollywood was thinking with this disaster.

Summary: I liked Godzilla
Review: I am a what you would classify as a "Godzilla" fan. I grew up watching the cheesy Japanese dubbed Big G films, and have recently even saw the newer versions that have been made in Japan. So, to a lot of people's surprise, I liked the American Godzilla. Big daddy G himself would probably be scared off by some of the monstrous reviews the movie stirred in, especially early on. But I found Godzilla to be an entertaining and very fun movie to watch. No, the acting isn't that great, especially Maria Pitillo, she could use a few more years in training. Yet Godzilla isn't a movie about how great the acting is or how intelligent a plot is formed. It's a movie with great special effects, an eye-popping good monster, and most of all, it's an enjoyable movie you can laugh with and have fun with. Not a lot movies are like that anymore. Broderick is decent in the main role, and Frenchman Jean Reno is good and funny as a member of the French foreign legion. I also liked the American Godzilla. The only thing missing from the creature was its fire breathing atomic breath, which would have made the film a little hotter. Godzilla isn't a movie that racked up the Oscars, or had knockout acting performances. It also isn't a movie for those who must have a real intelligent mind bender. Yet for those of us who just love a good, fun movie to watch on a Friday night, Godzilla should send your approval roaring. It did mine.

Summary: The Godzilla CD
Review: definatly pleases those fans of Puff Daddy, The Wallflowers, Jamiroquai, Foo Fighters, and Green Day. Although I haven't heard the original, Puff Daddy's remix "Come with me" is off beat and lags on for a long time. Jamiroquai's "Deeper Underground" is a cool song, and "Brain Stew" by Green Day is awesome. The only complaint aside from a few doozers (i.e. silverchair's "untitled", fuzzbubble, Macy Day Parade, and FUEL), is David Arnolds (gasp!) terrible score. Although you don't get a very good dosage of the music on the disk, a greater sampling can be heard on the movie or the rare "sneak preview soundtrack". The score is, well......bad. "Opening titles" starts off menacingly enough, only to dissapate into a muddled mish-mash of choir and off beat roars of trumpet and drum. A queer piano-sounding instrument plays the movie's main title over and over again towards the end, then blends into the seamless track "Looking for clues" which is just about as exciting as milking a cow. The peice is a basic collage of the weird piano mixed against a backdrop of pointless strings. The CD is a good buy for some of the catchy tunes but is a waste of money if you are looking for another INDEPENDENCE DAY.

Summary: Far from great, but not THAT bad
Review: "Godzilla" is one of those movies where you're better off just watching it for the special effects rather than for the script, story or plot. And the special effects ARE good although nothing groundbreaking. Matthew Broderick seems miscast for this role but he does a fairly credible job with the lousy script. After all, an actor can only carry a movie so far if the script and plot fall flat on their face. But I have to admit that I sort of liked this movie, SORT OF. No, I'm not claiming that it's great or a must-see. But for those of you who appreciate good special effects and cheap thrills it might be worth at least a rental. Just remember to put your brain on neutral and don't expect that much.

Summary: Super-sized Monster Movie
Review: Emmerich and Devlin's take on everybody's favorite radioactive lizard is just fine. "Godzilla" kills a little bit of your time and lets you forget about all those bills you owe and how tall that grass is getting outside. Watch it with a bowl of popcorn and expect the expected: A huge lizard rampages through the Big Apple and tears up a few boats along the way. There isn't much else you can do with a "Godzilla" flick unless you throw in a great villain like Mothra. I liked the idea of a pregnant "Godzilla," but the baby G's resemble the velociraptors a la "Jurassic Park" too much.
Granted, what are the odds that a huge radioactive lizard created by French nuclear tests will decide to pack up and settle in New York City? While it's in town, it'll stop off at Madison Square Garden and lay a few eggs. Then, it'll waltz out to the Brooklyn Bridge and let the military waste it. IT'S A MOVIE!!! That's all. It doesn't make you anymore aware of the plight of Greenpeace or some other environmental group. Your won't hate the French anymore than you already do. That isn't the point of this film. Emmerich and Devlin made this movie to make you act like Joey Lawrence and say "Whoa!" when Godzilla pops onto the screen. They did the same thing in "Independence Day." This movie has no substance or Oscar-winning performances. What it does is make you say things like "Doesn't the mayor look like Roger Ebert?" or "Man, Godzilla totally punked out those submarines!" It is pure, unadulterated fun and games. No moral message, no originality, no taste...just a fun movie about one tough lizard.

Review: ANYWAY, THIS IS A VERY GOOD SOUNDTRACK. I AGREE, THE MOVIE WAS TERRIBLE. BUT, THE SOUNDTRACK HAD SOME GOOD MUSIC ON IT. THE BEST TRACKS ARE P. DIDDY'S ''COME WITH ME'', FUEL'S ''WALK THE SKY'', GREEN DAY'S ''BRAIN STEW'' REMIX, AND THE FOO FIGHTERS' ''A320''. FORGET ABOUT THE MOVIE, BUY THE SOUNDTRACK TODAY. TRUST ME, THERE'S PLENTY OF GOOD MUSIC TO BE FOUND ON HERE.

Review: this looks like a jurassic park movie instead of a godzilla movie. this movie fails miserably its got good special effects, bad acting, terrible leading performances, and is way too long. unlike the other godzilla movies this movie is no fun at all. go rent the original one instead
