Summary: THE MOST INCREDIBLE MOVIE "EVER"!
Review: This is not only the best Star Wars movie ever, but this masterpiece is the best movie ever to cross the big screen. Lucas very cleverly re-introduces the characters from the greatest fictional story of all time! I grew up during the first run of the original trilogy and thought that Empire Strikes Back was an unbeatable epic, but no movie has ever captured my attention like the most recent Lucas film. May 2002 can't come soon enough!

Review: Star Wars Episode 1 was my favorite movie of 1999 I watched three time over the summer.This movie has great special effects awesome fighting scenes with Obi-wan Kenobi,Qui-Gon and Darth Maul.The city of Naboo is beautiful with realistic waterfall,Natalie Portman did a great job in this movie,she play Queen Amidala and Padme.Jar Jar bink I don't like him he ruin the movie he too funny and chicken out at the battle scenes and it's hard to understand what he saying.Last one is Anakin Skywalker the boy who want to become the Jedi,can't wait for that on Episode 2&3.I enjoy this movie,so may the force be with you!George Lucas said he's not releasing Episode 1 on DVD,I was very disappointed,DVD is much better then vhs.

Summary: "STAR BORES?" I THINK NOT!
Review: I found the film not short of its expectation. It has lived up to its standards, even though some of the parts and said words did not corrospond with the original trilogy. Ever since that movie busted out upon the scene, I couldn't contain myself. I didn't see it as much as I should, but twice was more than I have been to see a movie. Ewan McGregor and Liam Neeson showed throughout the film the traditional behavior of the Jedi Knights. Through them, you see the spectacular strenght that only the truest Jedi can gain by time and training. To the other who responded in a negative manner, I beseech for you to reconsider your response. After watching the summer's best blockbuster, I have learned to adapt the wisdom of Yoda and Mace Windu to the true meaning of this life. The movie itself was SPECTACULAR! The digital sound really helped enhance the sound and the feel of fighting along beside Obi-Wan Kenobi or racing in top speed with Ani Skywalker in his pod racer. The action packed film was and is THE film, and not just to me, but to numerous others. I would give nearly anything (except my Star Wars collection) to flip on to the scene and show off my unique Jedi skills. Star Wars concept of the "FORCE", in the words of the elder Ben (Obi-Wan) Kenobi, "-is what binds the galaxy together." It also gathers the world together. The multi-cultured world has experienced the world of the "weird and unclear", and Star Wars introduces the colorful aliens, ones of "stupidity" , heroes and enimies we have all come to love and hate. George Lucas has created a plague that will continue to be in many people's systems and I am glad to carry it around in mine. Star Wars forever and a day.

Summary: Sit back and enjoy the ride...
Review: Okay, sure...alot of people and critics are saying that the movie was not all that it was hyped-up to be. OF COURSE NOT! You can't seriously think that a movie that has been hyped for so long can actually make everyone happy. If you've seen the other Star Wars movies, try and think of this while watching this installment: This movie was made to bring up questions of how some characters had evolved in the other movies from the beginning. It was also created to let the viewer in on a little history of some other characters: in particular Ben Kanobi and Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader. I think it did just that. When seeing this movie, the best thing to do, as I did, is to not go into it with any expectations. Just watch the movie and enjoy the ride it takes you on. If it seems to be a little open-ended, it's supposed to be that way. That's how you get a "prequel". I am sure that Mr. Lucas knows what he is doing. He's been doing it alot longer and better than most of us can say. Just sit back and enjoy his movies, and I think you will not be disappointed. I know I definitely wasn't after The Phantom Menace.

Summary: My Expectations Were Not High
Review: In my viewing of the Phantom Menace, my expectations were for an enjoyable film about a galaxy far away that would still develop human "type" characters. The characters in this piece were very poorly sketched and accented with awful dialogue, long sequences of "action", and a plot that was aimed at showing a high number of locations. It should come as no surprise to anyone that this film was storyboarded before written. It is the world's first (hopefully last) location driven film. The term "character chewing" by location and computer design is useful here. There was something I enjoyed here, mostly for sentimental reasons, but I can't allow childhood memories to get in the way of good sense. This film was dumbed down and marketed for a kiddy audience but at it's heart, it has what I feel is a dangerous message for kid (besides the latent message to always sell out) - With all the war that wages at the end, there is no loss, no real violence - it shows children that wars and violence are not deadly conflicts but games where legions of (human "type") robots are disabled. The over use of judeo-christian references was embarrassing - the virgin mother, chosen one... I honestly sat in my seat shocked that this was being done. MESSAGE TO LUCAS: A sublte allusion recalls and supports literary themes; it doesn't slap the viewer in the face and say "Look at me, I'm a reference to the bible!" Very bad taste... these are supposed to be creative people. This was not a good setup for this second trilogy - I shudder to think what new ideas the people at Lucasfilm will unleash on the world for a few bucks.

Summary: Just a few observations...
Review: -The story is extremely weak. If Lucas hadn't had a couple future things to set up (which he does in the most obvious, unoriginal way possible), there wouldn't be anything to even think about. -The kid can't act. Obviously you can't expect a 10-year-old to act like Al Pacino, but Jake L makes it obvious he's just struggling to recite all his lines right. Nothing else. -The modern cultural references, most notably the sportscaster, only degrade everything further. Cute, George, but they don't belong in this movie. -The basic idea behind Jar Jar was ok: having an alien character 'befriend' the Jedi, try to provide some comic relief, and come back with help at a vital moment is a good one. Making said character an annoying, ugly, stupid, bumbling, clumsy, incompetent idiot who talks like a whiny 5-year-old, does absolutely nothing funny, does nothing and contributes barely anything to the movie, however, was a huge mistake. -The adults (most of them) do a very good job of acting, especially Liam Neeson. Let's hope Samuel Jackson gets a bigger part next time. -The planet backgrounds and lightsaber battles were excellent. The music was spectacular. However, the details can't redeem the big picture. -Buy it only if you blindly love Star Wars, and you're willing to overlook the hideous travesty it's becoming.

Summary: Star Wars history
Review: Now some have siad that lucas killed Star Wars with this film. Now I do agree there are somethings we could have done without(Jar-Jar). but it is the history of Star Wars and I for one and Happy it is there. I enjoyed seeing the young Obi-Wan doing battle. the Fight sequence with Obi-Wan and Darth Maul was By far the best in any Star Wars Film Yet. The speed at wich it took Place the Moves that Both Obi-Wan and Maul Did were out of this world. Over all I say this Movie was great but then agian I am a Die Hard Star Wars Fan. I for one Can not wait for Episode II

Summary: StarWars:The First Episode
Review: Jedi's, Dark sith lords, fantastic spaceships, exotic palacesand a boy's journey into the destiny that would find him.It was notthat this 1st enstallment of george lucas's Starwars was bad in any way.But the logicial fact is that this perticular episode was meant to have a much more lighthearted theme,and as G.L. said would very much appeal to younger moviegoers.This one was to be a shadow of things to come,and to have a very comic book like feel to it.On the positive side this 1st installment in the StarWars saga had great villians and very spectacular effects.Liam Neeson gave a wonderful proformence as the rebellous Jedi master,and Ewan McGregor gave a brilliant and convincing preformence as the young ObI-Wan Kenobi.

Summary: Not the best of the series, but.....
Review: This is a great addition to the saga. I still don't understand why so many people think that they were betrayed by Lucas. I can only say a couple of negative things about TPM: 1) It does have kind of a weak plot. But, I think that this movie was only supposed be an introduction to the primary characters. I believe all plot-holes will be filled in with the next movies. 2) George did get a little carried away with his CGI technology. Jar Jar became a central character when, actually, he should have had about 25% less screen time. Barring those two things, it was a cool flick and a great introduction for the series. The effects are mind-numbing to the point where you HAVE to see it more than once so that you can absorb all the images. The climactic battle was awesome and puts the lightsaber battles from the original trilogy to shame. All in all, I'd say that it wasn't as good as Star Wars or Empire Strikes Back, but I liked it alittle better than Return of the Jedi. And to all those who say that there are racial stereotypes found in some of the aliens: GET A LIFE! Anyone that says that Jar Jar Binks is a representative of an African-American person is deluded and should get help.

Summary: Definitely a keeper
Review: Sure, there are naysayers. There always will be. Let's all keep in mind that Star Wars was panned by critics when it first arrived as well though. I will agree, I rate this the weakest of the 4, but that's like picking among 4 fine diamonds, 1 has to be the least among them, it doesn't make it bad. The characters weren't quite as touching as in the original trilogy, but whose to say they won't grow to be so, over time, I believe they can. Our way of looking at Star Wars changes over time, when I was younger, I hated The Empire Strikes Back, because the good guys lost, but now, I find it to be the strongest of the series. The fight choreography surpasses the first 3 by miles. It can be a bit childish in its humor, but it is meant for all generations. Jar-Jar was a pain, but you know what, when I watch the old ones, I get almost the same feeling about C3PO, he bugs the hell out of me, not to mention those darned Ewoks, at times they can be touching, like when the one gets killed by a blast and the other one tries to help him up, finds him dead, and makes this sad mewing sound, but at other times they were just childish. I think we've just reached a point where the first 3 are so revered that there's no way TPM was going to live up to it initially, but I believe over time, it will find its place among the others, as a fitting preface to the struggles in the next 2 episodes.
