Summary: It was a sad, heartwarming video that I Enjoyed greatly.
Review: I recomend this movie to people who like dramatics. It is very funny, but also very sad.

Summary: good plot, but overall disappointed
Review: while I liked the graphics, and I thought the performance by the actors and actresses were excellent, I have to say that overall I was disappoited with this movie. first of all, it reminded me too much of Deep Impact, and second of all, i couldn't understand why when something was fixed, (after it had gone wrong), something else went wrong. that happened way too many times for me. And although Liv Tyler, Ben Affleck, and Bruce Willis are extremely talented, I thought their actions were way too predictable and so was the ending of the movie. Regrettably, this is not one video going in my collection.

Summary: it has everything
Review: I know that typically girls are supposed to enjoy weepies and dislike action movies but armageddon is a great example of both brilliant action, and visual effects mixed with characters you care about and an emotional story line which made even my most emotionally dead friend cry. It is far superior to the pap dialogue of titanic and at a fraction of the cost. Film reviewers who slated this movie obviously are in the wrong profession for it really is good cinema and a great story..

Summary: An intellectual feast - Bruce, Ben and a Big Rock
Review: Not every sci-fi movie is able to incorporate mankinds desire for self-preservation with the blossoming of youth and young love. It is a metaphorical battle between the established way (represented by Bruce Willis) and the genesis of a rebellious new order (represented by the romantic interest - Ben and Jennifer). The rock represents the divisions between these two ideals and in itself is an idealistic revisionistic portrayal of natures ambivalence. It is amazing that the writers and directors were so carefully able to weave this subtle message into such an action packed, spine-chilling, visually astheatic, think piece. Well done chaps!

Summary: Technical Review
Review: I own the LD version.  Studios often use the same print and soundtrack materials to master the LD. Anyone concerned about Buena Vista's poor DVD track record and weak support for the format (i.e. no anamorphics) can breathe a sigh of relief.  The print is immaculate, the transfer pristine (as were other Bruckheimer films like THE ROCK (also by Michael Bay), CRIMSON TIDE and CON AIR). Incredible detail, colors fully saturated, and amazing contrast-- even on the asteroid scenes which were shot in murky blues.  The DVD version will be 20% sharper and more detailed (though I'm wondering how that could be possible, this picture was amazing and indistinguishable from even my best DVD's). The 5.1 Dolby Digital track, which is certainly to be the same one used on the DVD, tops even FACE/OFF in its brilliant, inspired use of split surrounds, fiery depth, and broad front sound stage. Take back 1/2 a star for some initial level surfing in the center channel; the mix kept me guessing where to put that center level, and is occasionally (and intentionally) overwhelmed by the pyrotechnics and ongoing rock concert. Otherwise, the film is exhausting.  Reference quality. While I still wish for an anamorphic DVD and more extras, I've placed my order for this beauty, as I'm confident this is a reference quality disc, in spite of Buena Vista's DVD policies. Jump on this like it was a hand grenade.

Summary: I loved it!
Review: I watched Armageddon for the very first time in my home, and I was very impressed by it. The movie combines a great cast, incredible special effects, and a good plot to form one of the best movies I've ever seen. One minute you're laughing, the next you're crying, the next you're gripping the edge of your seat. As one of my friends told me, "I laughed, I cried, I wet myself." One very out of line reviewer said that this was a movie only for slow-witted, below average teenagers. Well, I'm a quick-witted teenager with a 3.85 GPA, and I loved it. So did my friends, and they're not drooling morons either. I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you like action, drama, romance, or comedy movies, Armageddon is your flick!

Summary: Its what I've been looking for since ID4
Review: Simply put, a great movie. Don't get me wrong, I love a good plot like anyone else, but that is not why I got this movie. I went to see this movie because of the special effects! The plot was good too, better then ID4! Come on people, enjoy the eye candy and go see some other movie if your looking for the great plot...

Summary: This movie is great!
Review: This movie has all the great aspects of modern film: action, adeventure, romance, and a great soundtrack. The film is touching and entertaining, and the special effects are astounding! I highly recomend the video. However, some of the more technical stuff isn't quite accurate, so less knowledge of the technical aspects makes the movie a bit more enjoyable and wonderous. But even those minor irritations that arise from such misinformation are caught up in the plot and the excellent characterization. This movie is a must see!
