Summary: Laughable!
Review: I am a big Tolkien fan, and have been for many years....almost as long as I could read.(29 at date of this review) I've read so many reviews complaining about how this movie didn't follow the books...and for that have given it one star. I know that it doesn't follow the books, but its flat out a good movie. With the Star Wars prequels destroying the fantasy fans confidence in epic films its nice to know that it will live on in other films. Its a shame that people are so angry that the story has been changed that they can't notice a true classic. After all Christians didn't foam at the mouth about "The Ten Commandments" did they? Some times you must look beyond what you already know to expereince something new, like Columbus saying the world was round. (even though any moron would have known from studying ancient maps....even now available at the Library of Congress...sorry, call me useless knowledge man, lol) On to the point.....I love this film and will be adding The Two Towers collectors set to my collection and set it right next to The Fellowship Of The Ring collectors set I already own. If Golum is as cool as the book ends everyone is going to love it....PROMISE!

Summary: The Truth
Review: The truth is that "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" is the best movie of 2002 (like it or not). It is a fasanating adaptation of the author J.R.R. Tolkiens "Lord of the Rings" book trilogy and opens the world of fantasy and literature to the big screen. The action, adventure, and drama, "The Two Towers" has to offer are incredible! A WONDERFUL MOVIE! [CASE CLOSED]

Summary: awesome movie
Review: this movie was the ultimate!!!! absolutely fanastic! You should definately buy this movie, it is worth it. Don't waste your money on the matrix or any other dumb hollywood movie, use your money wisely, and it's very wise to use it for this movie! Peter Jackson did an excellent job bringing middle earth to life. The books are even better. buy the whole set. Lord of the Rings, by J.R.R. Tolkien. This movie has nothing bad in it, except war scenes, which isn't real bloody or anything. Please, listen to the interview, i'm serious, buy this movie!

Summary: NO ONE DOES DVD ANY BETTER!
Review: My review is based upon the theatrical release of the movie since obviously the DVD is not out yet. I will wait for the Extended edition to come out in November. From the sounds of things, this set will be every bit as good as FOTR Extended edition which may be the all-time best DVD package.

A Whopping 40 minutes have been restored back into the movie, making it check in now at just under 4 hours. I cannot wait to see what was put back in. Also, the additional disks seem to promise the same mountain of additional material that FOTR did. I congratulate Peter Jackson for really taking care of the fans of these movies.

AS to the movie itself, the Fellowship has now been scattered. Frodo and Sam are on their way to Mordor where they meet and forge an uneasy alliance with Gollum. Pippin and Merry have been kidnapped by Orcs, and Gimli, Legolas and Aragorn are tracking the kidnappers.

Lots has to happen in a very short period of time...And even given three hours things have to be condensed or outright eliminated. This may be the most popular complaing among Tolkein fans but the fact is that there is no choice. You'd have to do a trilogy for EACH book if you really wanted to cover everything.

Among the main happenings in Two Towers is the meeting of Gollum, the Return of Gandalf, the introduction of the Ents, and the Battle of Helms Deep. The Battle of Helms Deep is one of the great battle sequences ever filmed, no matter what the time period.

It will be great to sit down and watch the extended edition a few times before the release of Return of the King in December.

Summary: What happend to the storyline???!!!
Review: I truly loved the movie however it does not follow the storyline very well. The book was here first. And it seems as if they created a remotely different story instead. I have been reading this book over and over since I was ten. This movie could have and should have been better. However I am hoping that the third and final movie will make up for it. (And quite a few of the male actors are hot)

Summary: FANTASTIC!
Review: I don't know what these other reviewers are talking about! This was a MOVIE NOT THE BOOK! There is no way in the world that the book could have been put to screen as it was written. This movie is absolutely FANTASTIC! Don't get me wrong, I am a fan of the books too. However, this second installment was difficult to read because of the way it was split up. I'm sure it was difficult to put onto the screen, as there is really no beginning or ending to it. I think Peter Jackson and his gang did a really great and inventive job of keeping the journey going, while touching on all the highlights and making us care for the characters even more.

And I have to say that I'm glad they cut the adventure a little short. I think it would have been too upsetting to end the movie with that last bit Tolkein had in the book (Shelob's lair).

The first movie was supposed to introduce you to the world of Middle Earth and the characters and what it was like during this particular time in "history".

This second movie is meant to let you get to know the main characters more and to make you feel more strongly for them in their horrible and desperate situation. According to an interview I read with Peter Jackson, we were meant to feel dispair and to think that they would never accomplish their task. That's it all hopeless. That they are all going to perish and that evil will rule all of Middle Earth.

The third movie will be a joy to see. Peter said that the third movie is a real tear jerker. Man! I don't see how it's possible to make it more emotional than the past two!

Even though I've read the books, I don't know how Peter will show it to me. It is so difficult to wait a whole year to see what happens next! It will be a great day indeed when I can sit down at home and watch all 3 DVD's consecutively.

Simple pleasures people! Simple pleasures! :^)

Summary: Read This!
Review: 1. Bugdet
2. Time Legnth
3. Work And Stress
4. Good Ratings
5. Most Importantly MONEY

Those are the five reasons movies HAVE to be a LITTLE different from the book it is based on. To fit every single bit of thing that happens in a book in a movie would cost WAY too much money. If everything from a long book is in a movie then it would be WAY too long and people would NOT like it because of its time legnth. News of that would be past on to other people about the movie being too long so therefore no one would see it and then the movie would get a terrible budget. And most of all director Peter Jackson, and crew, have put a whole LOT of work and stress into making the "Lord of the Rings" movie trilogy so they deserve a LOT of credit and applause. There is not much more that can be done to change the "Lord of the Rings" movie trilogy. It is fine the way it is anyway because the first two movies have gotten good ratings and the third film WILL too. If you don't like it then thats fine. But, like it or not, the "Lord of the Rings" movie trilogy are fantastic movies! They hold true enough to the "Lord of the Rings" book trilogy. "The Two Towers" was an astounding masterpeice! I cannot wait to see "The Return of the King"!

Summary: Unbelievable Film, But Not The Best Ever
Review: ... Peter Jackson (director) had a great idea with having the climatic sequence being the Battle At Helm's Deep since it was such a boring, short chapter in the novel.Great acting, unrealistically good directing, and breathtaking scenery and effects. Buy the DVD!

Summary: Worth owning, but disappointing...
Review: As with Fellowship this film was visually stunning, however, storywise it was dreadful. If you've never read the books, do yourself a favor and do so - there's never been a better novel written. That's the problem with this movie: Jackson tries to mess with an already perfect story. Fitting a book onto the big screen will inevitably call for cuts in the storyline, such as in FotR (which, by the way, was done without comprimising the integrity of the book), but what was done to this installment is criminal. Most people, I suppose, will be content to at least have a decent adaptation to view without being bothered by plot, but when you know how good the book is you can only be disappointed, even angered, at how much better this movie could have been. Being a huge fan of LotR, I myself was pretty much devastated after viewing this film, unlike the first picture which stayed true to an already flawless story, only cutting scenes and making changes when necessary due to time constraints. Unfourtunatly, good writing must often yield nowadays to visual dominance - it is rare for a movie to have both.
