Summary: Ok. Not as good as I thought it would be.
Review: This movie seemed to drag a lot of the time. My kids wanted to see it really bad so we took them. They enjoyed some parts, but it did scared my 4-year old. I ended up taking him out of it and played with him in the hallway while my husband sat with my older two. There's a lot of violence. The hulk is extremely destructive, more so than the TV series was. I wouldn't recommend it for children under 10 years old.

Review: I think The Hulk is a great movie, the CG is awesome. In fact the hulk is the most advanced CG character to date. Im definitely going to buy this movie.

Summary: This is a phenomenal movie!
Review: This movie is awesome! The CGI transformation from Bruce Banner to the Hulk is incredibly real. I think that the CGI of this movie is one of the best I've seen. The story is great too, necessary for the drama and special effects. I think this movie was very well adapted from the comic to the big screen and is worth buying on DVD.

Summary: Once you realize this is not an action movie...
Review: ...it's actual quite good.

I've never been a big fan of the Hulk - I've always been a Batman fan myself - so it didn't thrill me to learn that this angry green behemoth would be getting his own live-action movie. In fact, I was even a little put off when news got out that the Hulk would be completely CGI, instead of Lou Ferrigno, or some other big muscled man playing this jolly-green giant. So the Hulk really wasn't on my top most wanted list of films to see this summer. But a situation emerged where I found myself in need of a movie to go see with some friends. Well, not much was out that week, so I chose 'Hulk.

My first impression was: this is a dark movie. Even darker then my favorite superhero film - Batman. I realized it also featured a extremely psychological, complicated plot. I knew instantly this would not go over well with the general public. This is a film where you actual have to think. A lot of people despise that.
But for me, someone who is inclined to that time of film, I enjoyed it, even though it might have been a little drawn out.

The film, of course, centers around Bruce Banner (Eric Bana), a nuclear mishap, and a mad-scientist father (Nick Nolte). Through the movie, we are showed flash backs of Bruce's forgotten childhood, revelations about his family, and other various elements that spell out Bruce's emotional state. This film is not about the hulk, it's about Bruce, his father and their struggles with troubled pasts. Bruce's ex-girlfriend/co-worker Betty Ross (Jennifer Connelly) is also intertwined into that past.

That facet of the film I liked. What I didn't like about the film was...quite frankly...the Hulk. The creature really only served as a side story in the film; making only a few appearances. Two of which were nothing more then long, overdrawn, boring, and irrational fight scenes. The worst element of the film was the star, really. Director Ang Lee did a much better job with the drama plot rather then the action one.

This is where the movie probably fails. Ang Lee didn't make a action movie, he really even didn't make a superhero movie. Instead, Director Lee made a psychological drama with bits of bad action sequences thrown in. But then, isn't that what the Hulk is about; psychology rather then action. The idea of the Hulk is what makes this movie a true conundrum. The Hulk is a superhero, right? But the character is more about the inner workings of a human being, not a caped crusader who goes around saving innocents. Really, if you ask me, Mr. Lee was caught between a rock and a hard place in making this movie. The Hulk is not a action star, he's a tortured soul. People must understand that before seeing this film. IT IS NOT AN ACTION MOVIE. DON'T TAKE THE FIVE-YEAR-OLDS, THEY'LL BE BORED STIFF.

But all that aside, if you watch the Hulk with the mindset that it is not a action movie. It'll will probably be an enjoyable event for you. If you think of it as Spider-Man 2, you'll probably be disappointed beyond compare.

Summary: To SMASH or not to SMASH
Review: I loved all the marvel comic movies. When Hulk comes out its going on my shelf next to X-Men, Spider-Man, and DareDevil. I have to agree with everyone when they say it is slow and it is, but only in the beginning. The Hulk lived up to its comic book counterpart by smashing here and there, with special effects everywhere. When Bruce Banner saves his fellow scientest but gets blasted with gamma rays himself he becomes the Hulk, whenever he's angry. After fighting the military and the streets of San Francisco and afterwards facing off with his father, the Absorbing Man, the Hulk should be on your shelf. I also want to post there will be a Dr. Strange movie, a Fantastic Four movie, an Iron Man movie, X-Men 3, possibly a DareDevil2 and maybe even a Hulk 2. They have reserved seatings on my shelf.

Summary: The Hulk Goes Back To Basics
Review: Finally, Ang Lee protects the legacy of the Marvel Comics character by creating a film that is thought-provoking and intelligent, in place of the usual "scateboard culture" action films that are aimed at selling CD's more than they are created to respect the legacy they should represent.

The Hulk is a serious film. I dare say, it really isn't for kids or for those who enjoyed Spiderman. This is a very different film that is reminiscent of the old Sci-Fi/Adventure films in the seventies. Lee takes his time with the characters and works wonders at portraying their strengths and frailties.

The special effects are absolutely amazing and the acting is as good as it gets. Eric Bana explodes on the screen as the young Bruce Banner and Sam Elliot is born to play Thunderbolt Ross. Sure, the film starts off a bit slow, but it has to in order to build a good plot and storyline. You believe in the characters and practically believe the green giant is actually being portrayed by a living being, as the effects are so detailed and realistic.

I give this film two enthusiastic "thumbs up"!

Summary: ignore the comic book store geek from the Simpsons...
Review: it is not the worst movie ever.

If you're not too confused by actual character development, and if you can accept that the Hulk isn't real and won't look absolutely real, then you'll probably like it.

However, if you need your movies laid out in clear, pre-defined cliches drawn in crayola and aimed at the "Maxim" crowd, then just move along....

Summary: The worst movie from comics released lately....
Review: This movie is awful. "Why?" ..you might ask... Well, simply because all the CG is deadly wrong, plain pathetic and totally unrealistic ! Such an expensive movie to have a CG animated Hulk that moves so badly and it's totally out of the screen...it's a real shame, indeed! The production should be really sorry for having produced such a low-level CG movie. The whole CG Hulk character is really out of the screen, it's like a hand drawn cartoon overlaid on real images--read: BAD ANIMATION! The CG Hulk character doesn't look real, doesn't move as a true lifeform and doesn't look inside the scenes at all. They should have learned from Lord of The Rings CG animations where unreal creatures looked absolutely real and full embedded with real images. The Hulk has been as much expensive as that probably but results are the worst ever seen to date. It looks like a B movie overall. Avoid it !

Summary: THE HULK IS AWESOME
Review: I dont know what these guys are complaining about. This movie was awesome. In the beginning it drags a little, but it is necessary, for it goes deep into the comic books roots. If you are not 10 years old like some of these reviewers, and you were a fan of the hulk when you were young, definitely cop this dvd. It's off the hook.
