Summary: This Movie Really Delivered
Review: The Hulk has been one movie that I had been anticipating for quite some time now. I waited on pins and needles as the release date got closer and for once, I wasn't disappointed in the least about the film. The special effects and CGI were ground-breaking and jaw-dropping to say the least. Eric Bana turned in a superb performance as Bruce Banner and I thought that the story really drew you in as the movie progressed. I was very captivated by the CGI, but not to the point where I ignored the story. There were times in the movie where you really felt sorry for the Hulk because he was being persecuted for being different, something I can really sympathize with. The movie stayed true to the comic book, which is a plus, and the cameo appearences by Lou Ferrigno and Stan Lee were an excellent touch. Rest assured that when you purchase the Hulk, this jolly green giant will really knock your sox off.

Summary: Better Than I Expected
Review: Did not see it in the theatres this summer thought it looked.well kinda cheesy. Figured Id wait till it came out on DVD. It was A LOT better than I expected. It was a little long winded but actually had a story line behind the character. The thing I loved was the action scenes ROCKED! Great special effects. The Hulk was CG but did not look bad and the US Army vs the Hulk :) scenes were great! The action scenes give a Home Theater a good work out. My wife needed a bathroom break during the tank battle and she said she could feel the shaking(from the subwoofer)in the bathroom :). Good movie to give a new HT system a good work out!

Summary: NOT WHAT I EXPECTED!
Review: If you have seen the past Hulks you know that this one compared to the others just sucked. It was a terrible movie and is one of the only ones I am not going to buy.Would definitely not reccommend this movie to anyone unless you haven't seen the past shows and movies.

Summary: A worthwhile version for Hulk fans
Review: This is a much better movie than I feared it might be. I'll keep this brief. When Bruce Banner gets mad, the movie easily fulfils all hopes. So often computer graphics disappoint in that there is no sense of "reality." The action has no weight, and there is no sense of real power. That is not the case here. The special effects folks did an amazing job in conveying the Hulk's sheer size and terrifying strength. When the green giant tangles with the tanks, It really seems like steel is being torn. And, suffice to say, the "dog fight" scene is literally worth the purchase price (as was Nick Nolte's final raving scene).

The Hulk was (and still is) my favorite comic, and I do not feel cheated by this version. But, it must be said, I think Mr. Lee missed something essential in the Hulk myth. What drove the Hulk/Banner character throughout the comic book was an extreme sense of isolation, of being an outsider from the rest of humanity. Bruce Banner was always a man on the outside because of this terrible beast within him, a terrible dark side that could tear loose at any second. He could never have normal attachments, and he could never lead a normal life. He was just a drifter. Lost. Director Lee went instead with a very modern "dysfunctional family" theme as the source of the Hulk's rage. While it was an interesting take on it, I prefer the more traditional take on the Hulk; i.e. Bruce Banner drifting from town to town with his terrible secret haunting him at every step. This was the aspect that the television series, and original TV movie with Bill Bixby, captured so well. Perhaps we will see more of this in the sequel, as, admittedly, this was kind of an "origin" movie.

Still, there is more to admire in this version than curse. I will buy the DVD.

Summary: better than I expected from the reviews
Review: If you are not a fan of the Hulk, or comic books in general, then you probably won't like this movie. I did like the Hulk comic book as a child and thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Many have complained that the beginning was too long and drawn out, but I thought it was nicely paced and provided plenty of background detail. The performances were good, the writing was good, and yes I liked the use of the split screen to show simultaneous action. My biggest complaint is that the Hulk animation was not very realistic and they made him a bit too big and over-the-top. The director, Ang Lee, should have applied the "less is more" principle and showed less Hulk with more partial/distant/limited light shots and brief glimpses much like Steven Spielberg did in Jaws.

Summary: One HULK of a movie!
Review: My expectations going into the movie were not met to their full copacity, but I was not disapointed. About 80% of this film is very entertaining and tells its story exceptionally! The special effects are amazing as well. Unfortunatley, the ending of the movie really stinks. The director, Ang Lee, went a little too far and turned what could have been believable to far-out fiction. The dvd extras are good as well, although I don't understand why they left out the normal goodies like the Trailers.

Summary: Made by people who don't know the comic book
Review: This movie was just OK. Not great, just OK.
It spends over 40 minutes setting the story up
when a quick 5 to 10 minute epilogue would have
done the same thing. I mean, come on, is the origin
more important or the action. This movie was 30% action,
80% setup. Should've been the other way around.
Also, the movie did not stay true to the comic book
and even reinvented the origin. I know comic purists
are disgusted, rightfully so. For a great comic
movie check out Daredevil instead. This movie didn't
suck, but was just ok. This is a shame considering
the source material.

Summary: one of the best superhero movies .......EVER!
Review: this movie rocked! its one of my favorite movies. dont listen to it was too long or its was boring or MOST of all it needed more transformations!!!!!! thats bullcrap!!!!it was awesome. when the hulk came HE CAME! when the hulk came it was long { the longest transformation was 45 minutes and the shortest was 25} and there was so much action. id highly reccomend this movie to anyone. the hulk is about a guy named bruce krenzler or bruce banner when hes exposed to gamma radiation every time he gets pissed off he turns into the hulk. but generl thunderbolt ross is after the hulk{ thats the bad part} and thunderbolt ross is the father of betty ross whos the woman bruce banner loves{thats the REALLY bad part}. i wont spoil the ending but ill say the ending is awesome. just one thing when did the hulk learn to fly {even though it was very cool}? hulk is 138 minutes long and is rated PG-13 for sci-fi action violence, disturbing images, and brief partial nudity.

Summary: brilliant epic-an instant classic!
Review: being handicapped, and no longer able to go to the theatre, i purchased this dvd yesterday. based solely on the reputation of director ang lee, i never expected such a brilliant film, with such emotion, deep feelings, a great study in science and biology! i was astounded by the acting, the split camera work to let us see everyone's reactions as to what is taking place around them! the darn desert scene alone was worth more than the price of the dvd by it self! incredible work that has taken a beating by both most critics and theatregoers (here) alike! i blame universal's marketing strategy! this should have been a winter release where a more sophisticated audience would have really gotten into it! i feel, in years to come, ang lee's masterpiece will be a benchmark on how to really make an epic--with brains! if you have not yet seen it-run out and get it! if you have, watch it again-the 2nd time is even better.

Summary: Give "Hulk" a chance or two
Review: Hulk is a good movie and a great comic book adaption. The talent behind the movie is solid as well; Ang Lee is a terrific director. The cinematography is top notch and includes some great locales from the southwest US.

Dr. Bruce Banner heroically saves his friend and co-worker from an accident. Through genetic manipulation passed on from his dad, Bruce is able to survive the gamma radiation. He turns into the Hulk.

My favorite thing about the Hulk is that he doesn't go up against your typical villian trying to take over a city or the world; instead, it is an internal battle with your own fears.

As for the special effects...they are phenomenal. I think the hulk takes some getting used to since he's big and green, but he really does look the part. There's excellent fight scenes with the Hulk Dogs as well as a long desert scene against the military. The desert scene is worth the price of admission!

The special features are good enough. The picture quality is outstanding and the Dolby 5.1 mix is outstanding.

Pick this movie up if you even think you might like it. I highly recommend "Hulk."
