Rating: Summary: you will believe does not cover all that this movie is! Review: In every way this movie holds itself up as a magical film with more heart and depth than most films today. Dragonheart has an unspoken power to make you believe in the bonds of friendship and sacrifice and the power of believing in something. you will learn that Draco has a truly great heart even if he is a dragon. the dragon may be all effects but the character is their all the same. the acting is great all around. Dennis Quaid in one of his finest. Dina Meyer gives her best performance and holds her own against nore experienced actors. Peter Postlethwaite is in his most wonderful performance. It's good to see Julie Christie again. David Thewis is one of the best bad guys ever. last but definetly not least Sean Connery is his most winning and moving performance. dragonheart is more than a kids movie. it makes you believe in the impossible and gives you hope that the magic is always around even if it is not always a dragon.
Rating: Summary: Great adventures in a magic world!
Rating: Summary: I want a pet draco!!!;) Review: Don't you just love Draco in this film, he is such a cool dragon, I would love to meet such an incredible creature in real life (dragon's do exist after all ;)). He truly is a CG treat, anyone who bad mouths CG should just look at Draco, his character does have genuine heart, and Sean Connery is perfect for his voice. One thing, though, Draco seems to change size a lot thoughout the movie, in some scenes he's so big that Bowen can stand in his mouth, in others he is seem to shrink so much that his head is not that much bigger than that of a horse. Neverthelss it doesn't matter that much in the film.As to the film itself, well strangely uneven, at times quite well made, at others totally unengaging. I think you'll find youself fastforwading to the bits with Draco after the first viewing. Apparently there is a straight to video sequel coming out 'Dragonheart - A New Beginning' but it's got a kiddy dragon in it so the appeal is mostly gone. In summary, check it out, Draco singlehandly keeps this film afloat. (oh the score is also excellent, one of the best of recent years and often ripped off in newer movie trailers).
Rating: Summary: Fantasy Revival Review: This is a truly great film, in the traditon of Willow and Ladyhawk. The plot may not be the best ever devised, but the characterization is not to be beaten. The realistic facial expressions and humanity I find in Draco keeps me watchng it over and over again. It's sad that we were not more supportive of this film, or there may have been more good fantasy movies to follow the trend. There aren't enough of those out there.
Rating: Summary: Great Special Effects and Video, Thin Story Review: Dragonheart gets an extra star due to the great Dolby Digital Soundtrack and quality of the Video on DVD. But as a movie its lacking, the plot is thin and unsatisfying and the acting by Dennis Quaid is pretty hilarious at times. Besides the fine Soundtrack and Video it would be a decent TV movie, i wouldnt go out of my way to watch it though.
Rating: Summary: Good Movie But, Review: DRAGONSLAYER far superior in many ways. As other reviewers have said, not for the squeamish or very young children, but a good old-fashioned fairy tale (in the truest sense!) with some good special effects, music and fine acting.
Rating: Summary: VERY COOL MOVIE! Review: GREAT SPECIAL EFFECTS.VERY GOOD FLICK.THE WHOLE IDEA OF THE MOVIE IS VERY GOOD.THERE'S ALOT OF ACTION AND FIGHTS WITH DRAGONS.THE DRAGON LOOKS AS IF IT WAS REAL.THIS MOVIE SHOULD HAVE WON AWARDS.THE ACTING IS SO PROFESSIONAL.BUY IT.
Rating: Summary: See it, and you will believe! Review: For anyone who has ever dreamed of doing something great, for anyone who longs to be a hero, this is the movie for you. A grand story that tells the tale of a disillusioned knight whose hopes for the old ways of honor have been dashed when his ward, a dying prince, is "corrupted" by a Dragon who gave half of his own heart to keep the boy alive. But he finds that the Dragon is not to be blamed; on the contrary, he is a true hero! Even if the plot does not entice you, the Dragon alone is reason enough to see it. He is the world's first virtual actor, the Dragonic embodiment of Sean Connery's wit, honor, and delightful voice. Draco, the Dragon, captured my heart and held it in thrall, from the time I first saw it six years ago. This is the greatest movie ever made. See it, and, as the box says, you will believe.
Rating: Summary: Leaping Lizards Review: Dragonheart is an excellent movie. It was the first movie I bought on DVD and is still one of my favorites. The visual effects team in this movie should have won the oscar for creating Draco and Sean Connery as the voice of the Dragon was superb. Dennis Quaid did a fine work as the heroic knight. The battle scene between Quaid and Draco is still my favorite. Dragonheart is a true epic picture. Plenty of action, great characters, humor, amazing special effects and a wonderful story make this movie a real jewel to have, especially on DVD.
Rating: Summary: One of the best ever Review: This movie is an absolute must for the fantasy lover. If you want to see a movie with astounding special effetcs and a funny story this is the movie for you. Also it doesn't have the usual "save the princess and the world"-story attached to it, wich in this case is a good thing. Dennis Quaid is brilliant in the role of an honourable (!) dragonslayer, and Sean Connery as the voice of the dragon -bloody marvellous. Along with Braveheart this is the best historic/fantasy movie i've ever seen. BUY THIS MOVIE NOW!
