Summary: Soldiers vs. Gorgonites
Review: Big action. Big fun. Big movie! Small Soldiers is one huge adventure. Meet the Commando Elite - toy action figures with an attitude. They've escaped from their boxes along with the Gorgonites, kindhearted but unusual-looking creatures. Now teenager Alan Abernathy gets enlisted to help the Gorgonites and rescue the girl of his dreams before the whole town is turned upside down. Small Soldiers is a spectacular adventure for the whole family!

Summary: Prett Good!
Review: I actually think that this was a pretty good movie, and it has great kid actors in it. Boys will probably like it more than girls just for the simple fact it's about army action figures, but I still liked it. But, it doesn't top Toy Story!

Summary: Rules on DVD
Review: I reviewed this flick three times a while ago and gave it a perfect 5-star rating (meaning that it's a classic of epic preportions that is not to be missed).I rented the DVD and boy was I blown away! A while ago I went to BlockBuster with my friend Ted to rent some DVD's.The DVD's we rented were Cobra,Friday The 13th,Phantasm and this. The DVD is soooooo great. The picture quality is fantastic. It's very clear. The sound is terrific.Even at low volume you can hear it. The extras are absolutely incredible. You get behind the scenes footage, bloopers, deleted scenes, a very cool interactive video game demo and loads more.I'm saving up to get a DVD player and this is one of the first DVD's I'm getting with it. Heck,it's worth gettiing a DVD player just to see this incredible experience!

Summary: VERY underrated movie
Review: Spoilers.Read carefully.

Small Soldiers is one of the most underrated movies of all time and that is NO joke. It's an excellent movie that doesn't get the credit it deserves. The toys are brilliant and highly imaginative. The Gorgonites are a little dumb, but somehow, you like them. The special F/X are pretty cool.Commandos wielding weapons,a deformed Gorgonite driving an assault vehicle and a motor cycle chase scene that resembles the chase scene from Terminator 2.The weapons the toys use are brilliant.Flamethrowers, chainsaws, nail guns, flame cannons and many more.It definitely brings back memories of when I played with my commando action figures. The cast is EXTREMELY impressive and as you would expect, their great. The stuntwork is pretty neat too.But of course,SS does have it's share of rough spots. The script is quite weak and nearly all of the events are predictable. The film is disappointingly short and the ending is pretty inconclusive. However, despite those flaws, the film is extremely entertaining and packs plenty of laughs.Despite most reviewers comments of the level of violence, the film nearly isn't as violent as people say it is.There are a couple of intense scenes (one scene has a teen climbing a power pole and dangling and another has two teens on a motor bike assaulted with various weapons, which range from metal washers, corn cob holders,skeet-style saws and more,so it is recommended the first time around you watch it with the kids and if you feel it's OK for them,it's alright to let them watch it alone the second time around).SS is a very funny and entertaining movie and the last really good 90's flick. With rockin' good special F/X,an impressive cast, awesome G.I.-Joe-style toys and lots of other cool stuff, this is a can't miss movie. It's especially enjoyable if you have boys (8+) who are in desperate need of something new. This desperately screams a sequel.Buy it now! Rated "PG-13" for very comical action violence and very little profanity (very very little!).

Summary: Great on DVD
Review: What a movie it is. At first I was not a fan of Small Soldiers but after watching it with my kids over and over and over, I am the one that loves it the best. The sound and picture are supurb! What a movie. Nice extras packed into the DVD also.

Summary: Toy Story With Teeth
Review: Here we have a story that the Commando Elite fights the feeble and coward Gorgonites. This movie would be a little better if the Commandoes were good guys as well. And if the Gorgonites and Commandoes fight side by side against some evil guy. I would enjoy that! And Dennis Leary's character is almost fitted to the movie. Plus Jerry Goldsmith's score was absolutely amazing, but short.

Good film to kill some time.

Summary: AWSOME!
Review: This movie was cool! There was good action and the fact that the beautiful Kirsten Dunst was in it, well you know what I mean. I recommend this movie to action lovers.

Summary: A so-so movie.
Review: A lot of the reviewers seem to be hung up on the PG rating of the movie and who should see it. Let's just rate it on its own merit. The special effects are weak. The scene where they trap the hero and heroine out on the front lawn makes the Soldiers look just like harmless dolls. They just didn't look dangerous because the animation was done so poorly. And, yes, the plot does have some holes. One reviewer pointed out the one where you wonder how all the female Soldiers were made from one chip. It does have its moments, like when Mom is volleying the incoming tennis balls. But this movie just didn't grab me, or hold me on the edge of my seat. Not great, but not terrible, either. Three stars.

Summary: Hilarious, entertaining
Review: This movies is probably made for my kids, but I loved it too. It is hilarious when enemy of toy soldiers fight the humans! I was *lol*.

Summary: Oops.
Review: Uh oh. Looks like someone wanted to make Toy Story with teeth. Now there's a great movie. Toy Story. Witty, brilliantly written and flooded with stunning effects. And here is a weaker version of that film. Small Soldiers has loads of problems. The script is awful. There's loads of pointless action scenes. The human characters are given literally no depth. The main plot is weak and pointless. Even the special effects fail to impress, because the toys simply look like....moving toys. Another problem is the fact that the Gorgonites are the good guys. The film would be amazingly better if the Commandos were, but the feeble and useless Gorgonites are made the heroes. The whole thing comes over boring, and the only genuine saving grace I can think of is Jerry Goldsmith's score, which is magnificent. On the whole, a pathetic attempt to re-do Toy Story.
