Summary: Harry Potter is so awesome!!!
Review: I've read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, the Chamber of Secrets, and I just finished reading the Prisoner of Azkaban. I loved reading these books I couldn't put them down and no book has ever made me feel this way. You get lost in this imaginary world and it makes you wish you lived in one like it. I just wish this came out when I was a kid. I saw Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and the Chamber of Secrets and I just absolutely loved the movies as much as the books. For the first time the movies actually went along with everything that happened in the books. I saw the Chamber of Secrets in the theater 3 times and loved it each time! I really can't wait to read the Goblet of Fire and i cant wait till the third movie comes out. I know it will be just as awesome as the first 2 movies. Everyone should read the Harry Potter books because they're so fun to read and there isn't one boring part in the books or movies. I'm so glad that J.K. Rowling made up this amazing character and great books. Harry Potter rocks!

Summary: If you loved the books. . . . . .
Review: Then you will enjoy this film. All the actors that come from the first film, return in the second installenet of the highly popular Harry Potter series. Actors Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, and even Tom Felton seem much more at ease in this film.

The story opens with Harry escaping from his aunt and uncle in a flying car and goes on to have Harry and his compatriots fighting giant spiders, being pursued by the school's caretaker, Argus Filch, dealing with a self-absorbed teacher, and of course, lets not forget the giant snake. All while trying to find out what is petrifying muggle-born students. A more exciting Quidditch match and a scene in which students are learning to "duel", makes this film a bit more scary and still fun for its viewers.

As a parent, and having read the book beforehand, I was a bit unsure of having my son see this film. He, however, enjoyed it very much. I would like to see all the books on film but I don't think they would go to that extent, after all, those actors are kids and deserve not to spend their whole youth playing characters from books. I am sure they will all have careers beyond Harry Potter.

Summary: I love this movie
Review: When I went to go see this movie...I was blown away, I thought it was ten times better than the first installment of Harry Potter. The story moves much quicker. The best part is when he writes in the book and the book answers him, I still love that...I suggest you buy it.

Summary: Mesmerizing
Review: I'm a senior citizen who loves Harry Potter. I have read the first 3 books and will purchase "The Goblet of Fire" on books on tape.
I won't go into the plot. Suffice it to say it follows the book. The acting was wonderful by our 3 main stars. There is not enough of Alan Rickman, a truly wonderful actor. Kenneth Branagh was so-so and I don't know the man who played Lucious Malfoy but he was perfect. I hated him in "The Patriot" and hated him even more here. Richard Harris will be sorely missed. What a fine performance for his last film.
I never realized that the film was 2 3/4 hours. The time flew. The special effects are outstanding.
I liked the further character development. You see what a wonderful and loving family Ron Weesley comes from. You find out why Hagrid is the way he is. You also get to realzie why Draco Malfoy is the way he is when you get to see the father.
There was so much to see. So much to enjoy.
For the first movie, I saw the movie first and then read the book. For this story, I read the book first and then saw the movie. Either way, I was thrilled with both movies.
I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward the the third movie.
If you haven't had the opportunity to see "The Chamber of Secrets", please go and see it. It's a treat for the eyes, mind and soul.
Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy

Summary: It's No Secret, This Movie Is Awesome!
Review: This is such a great movie. But I do have to say that I liked the first installment in the Harry Potter series better. I think it was better made and represented the book more. BUT, I agree that you cannot compare the book and the movie. The books are just so spectacular! I wish I had more time and less homework (if any of my teachers are reading, look at that last comment!) I would definitely read all four of the books over again. I will definitely read the 5th one as soon as it comes out. Now, the movies cannot be criticized for not following the books exactly or for leaving parts out, because how can you fit all those details into a movie? Do you want to be sitting there for 5 hours watching the movie? NO!!! Well, at least I don't. Nonetheless, this movie is still worth checking out, as it is a very nice representation of the books (without comparing them) and are a great experience of the book (again no comparing) without having to read it again. I would still recommend reading the book first because the books are so exciting that all the movie does is give away the ending and all the exciting parts! I do think that the special effects are better in this one than the first one, but I still liked the first one better. Maybe it's just cuz I'm scared of spiders, but anyway, I recommend checking it out, also. I give this movie 8/10 for book representation, 10/10 for special effects, 9/10 for plot (it's a bit scary) and 9/10 for overall effect. I really recommend this DVD to anyone! ENJOY!!!!!

Summary: Absolutely great.
Review: This is one of my fave's movies of all time, it's even better than the first one, There's just one thing that I don't like, Why Chris Columbus didn't put the scene of The ghost's party, anyway, the movie is great, now we'll see if the DVD is just as great as the movie is.

Summary: The Magic Continues
Review: With a big thanks to Chris Colombus, he did not dumb down the second installment of this book series to film. This time around, the actors seemed even more confident with themselves and as students...just where they should be. The bonding between the characters has become quite evident, Snape's dislike for Harry seems to have grown a bit, the addition of the other teachers introduced in the second book were almost perfect (the narcisstic traits of Gilderory could have been expanded a bit more), seeing the Weasley's at home was a treat, and the flying car and whomping willow were all pulled off the way it should be. While watching the movie, I couldn't help but have a bit of sadness knowing that the late Richard Harris will no longer be playing Dumbledore in the upcoming films. I'm glad he had a chance to expand his role in this film, and whoever takes over the role is going to have some pretty big shoes to fill, but since the track record of the first two films has been established, I feel confident the right person will be chosen. Again, the only real complaint I have is that it wasn't long enough.

Summary: Kristen: COS is great
Review: I've read all the Harry Potter books 3 or 4 times. I absolutely loved the first movie (it's still one of my "feel good go-tos") and eagerly awaited the Chamber of Secrets.

Some of these reviewers who weren't happy with the movie but loved the books seem unsatisfied because the movie didn't follow the book "perfectly". Frankly I can't think of too many movies that have been adapted from books that do follow to the exact word (Lord of the Rings 1 and 2 are perfect examples). Books are meant to feed the individual reader's imagination, therefore everyone "views" the story uniquely, whereas a movie provides a single interpretation to many, many people. Unless a movie maker truly butchers a film-to-book adaptation to shreds...which this movie WAS NOT...I don't see anything wrong with a filmmaker using creative license in order to create a great film.

Is this movie as terrific as the first? For me it started a little slowly and took some time for the "magical" quality to set in, but I enjoyed it immensely nonetheless; I have already pre-ordered the DVD. I have only seen the movie once, so I look forward to watching it again (and again!!!) to catch the nuances I missed in the theater.

All in all I think the characters, both old and new, were true to the characters in the book. I enjoyed seeing the Weasleys and Draco's father...I think the movie did a good job of providing a little insight as to the nature of Ron and Draco's characters. If I had anything to complain about at all, the voice of Moaning Myrtle was pretty obnoxious and it took a little getting used to the fact that the young actors aged more than a "summer vacation" from school would allow.

A word of caution to those with weak stomachs: The slug scene(s) (after Ron's spell on Draco backfires on him) are pretty nauseating. Keep one hand over your eyes and peek through your fingers to watch...And...if you don't like spiders, the spider scenes are kind of scary too.

If you've read the book and absolutely want the movie to be a perfect adaptation...well, you may be disappointed. But If you love the magic of all the books and enjoyed the magic of the first film...and can allow yourself to let go of the necessary differentiations between the written and filmed versions, you'll enjoy COS...it's definitely worth getting the DVD.

Summary: THE MAGIC IS BACK!
Review: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets definetly matches the orginal and in my opinoin even surpases it. Harry's second year at Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry is filled with mystery, laughter, mischief, danger, and of course magic. Harry recieves a worning from a house-elf named Dobby. Dobby warns Harry not to return to Hogwarts, but Harry does not listen. Soon after his arrival at Hogwarts, students are being found petrified! It seems the attacks are related to the Chamber of Secrets, so the trio of Ron, Harry, and Hermione set out to solve the case.
First I'll start with the acting. All of the young actors did much better. You can see much more confidence in Harry this time around. At first it's strange how Ron and Harry's voices have changed, but you quickly get used to it. All of the adult actors once again do great.
The special effects are also much better this time. Quidditch is more realistic and Dobby doesn't seem fake and isn't annoying. In my opinoin the monster of the Chamber of the Secrets, is by far the best effect in the movie. That battle is awsome!
The flow of the second movie is very faced paced and your never bored. I do think that the movie should have been longer so that you could understand the plot a bit more though.
In conclusion this movie is awsome! I can't wait for the dvd to come out! The music is also very good. This movie is a must see!

Summary: What about the book?
Review: The movie was good, even great if you haven't read the book. It poorly followed the book and all of us crazed, wierd, Harry Potter fanatics will be left tripping along as things move to quickly through the story, with strange unnecessary additions to the small parts, and giant cuts in the important and big parts. I liked the movie and I plan on buying it to go along with my collection (of course I'm considered on of the most serious Harry Potter fanatics in my high school so of course I would buy it and like it) but, I think that if you're a big fan of the books than you will be dissapointed. But, that's only a matter of opinion. I would reccomend this movie and do reccomend it, but if you've read the books you might want to lower your expectations and forget the way the book was. Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix comes out on June 21st! Don't forget! Harry Potter forever!!!!!!!!!!
