Summary: An Amazing Spider-Man Movie
Review: I saw Spider-Man last night at a sneak preview sponsored by a famous food company. As a lifelong Spider-Man fan, I was very pleased with Sam Raimi's faithful interpretation of Stan Lee and Steve Ditko's character, and his world. The writing couldn't have captured the spirit of the comic any better, and the casting was truly inspired. Unlike so many other comic book movies, Spider-Man brought the best of the series to the screen without needless changes aimed at "marketing" to a broader audience.

My only complaint with the film was the Green Goblin's costume. Defoe is one of Hollywood's greatest modern faces, he can convey a broad range of emotions simply by changing the expression on his face. Yet in Spider-Man his face is covered with a metal shell which doesn't move at all. Not even when he speaks. This unfortunate decision, the only bankrupt concept inherited from the Batman films, mutes Defoes effectiveness as the Goblin right when needed most. I found myself wishing he confronted Spider-Man as Norman Osborn rather than the lifeless robot impersonating the Green Goblin.

Summary: Living up to the hype!
Review: I just got from seeing a special screening of Spider-man. And I must say it surpassed all of my expectations. This movie is the best comic book movie in years, possibly ever. The joy of seeing Peter swing for the first time is only beat seeing memorable scenes relived in front of your eyes. Please, get to a movie theater as soon as you can, cause you'll just want as much time as you can to see it over and over again.

Summary: Amazing.
Review: I just watched the movie for the second time at a sneek preview in KL, Malaysia. I went to the premiere here last night, and I expect to be going again soon.

Amazing. This movie totally lived up to my expectations. I've always been a Batman and Superman fan, since I was a kid. I occasionally read some Spiderman comics, but I never got much into them. That, however, has changed since I saw the first trailer for Spiderman. This is probably one of the movies I've most looked forward to seeing, and it beat the hype. The actors are great, the story had me hooked with a great balance of humor and drama, and the special effects are just incredible. It really feels like the comic come to life. The webslinging, dialogue, and even the poses are spot-on. The ending leaves the film open for a sequel, which I'll be greatly looking forward to.

I don't want to spoil anything so I won't say more. The only thing I was really annoyed with is the cinema where I watched it. For some reason it wasn't in widescreen, and they censored big chunks of a main scene out of the movie. All the kisses where censored too. I understand that certain things can be inappropriate to show to everyone, but thats why there are movie ratings and censoring a kiss...come on.

Anyway I hate to conclude on a bad note, so I'll repeat myself. This movie is great. Two hours of pure spidey bliss. I've rarely enjoyed a movie this much. Mad props to all those involved in making this movie, I hope they crash the box office.

Summary: I HAVE SEEN IT!!!
Review: I got to see an advanced screening of this film and (with slight exaggeration). It is the best movie ever! Tobey Maguire IS Peter Parker! Much more so than X-Men, when you watch this film, you are IN the Marvel Universe. It is like Alex Ross's Marvels brought to life. I was doubtful when David Koepp wrote the screenplay because he can't write a good sentence - let alone a good screenplay. The few clunky bits of dialogue (usually between Peter and MJ) I attribute to him. Sam Raimi hits the exact right tone with this movie though. He doesn't dwell on things we don't care about and is true to the spirit of the comic. There are a few bits of CGI that are a little awkward, but you've all ready seen them on the trailer. The acting is pitch-perfect. Willem Defoe is great as the Green Goblin. Norman Osborne isn't a 2-dimentional comic-book villain - he's not pure evil - he is a good man who's dark side is released through the Goblin formula. The Green Goblin HATES Spider-Man but Norman Osborne LOVES Peter Parker. The only thing wrong with the movie is the final note it ends on - but I guess it has to set up a sequel. Besides, we know the story anyway.

Summary: Most Anticipated
Review: Spider-Man is the MOST anticipated movie of my life thus far. This even surpasses Resident Evil and X-Men. Batman and Superman pail in comparison to this movie. When I first saw the trailer my heart started thumping so fast, adrenaline started rushing. I saw this trailer at JPIII so during the entire movie of Jurassic Park III I was replaying that Spider-Man trailer in my head over and over again. This movie will not disappoint, it can't it's Spider-Man!! I don't know one person who does not like Spider-Man. I hope to the Lord that this movie will bring in more money than some friggin' Harry Potter. Go see this movie, it will amaze you!!

P.S. on a side note I hope that the Lizard and Doc Ock make their appearances in the sequel.

Be safe everyone

Summary: Have not seen the movie yet
Review: I have not seen the movie yet. The movie comes out in May in the USA. But in Puerto Rico where I live, The movies usually arrive here 2 or 3 weeks later. All that I have heard about Spider-Man is excellent. Even though I am a Batman & Superman fan all my life, the only Marvel character that I always liked was Spider-Man. If the movie is faithful to the original storyline, it should be a smash. Anytime you alter the original storyline, it suffers. Hope this review helps.

Summary: MUCH BETTER THAN X-MEN!!!!!!!!
Review: My friend brought the DVD in New York in Manhattan for 20 dollars. First, of all my expectations for this movie was very high like it was for XMEN. X-Men disappointed me and just about all the REAL comic book fans. The CGI effects are amazing particularly when Spiderman swings from building to building. The people who play Peter and Mary Jane do a great job, but the Green Goblin actor takes the cake. The story is accurate to the comic which pleased me greatly. I just hope that Venom and Carnage are in the sequel. Go support this movie!!!

Summary: Not just another Comic Book Movie
Review: I'm really frustrated with those who 'don't expect much' from a movie about a Superhero. Maybe you don't like these types of movies because you expect too much.
As far as superheros go, I'm ecstatic that they've finally brought Spider-Man to the big screen. He's the one superhero that posseses substance and uniqueness. He's not some alien from outerspace with powers or a billionaire that can afford a suit with gadgets. He's just an average guy that was changed when a genetically-engineered spider bit him. In todays world, something like that could happen-and so it seems Spider-Man is the most realistic superhero.
I expect an amazing movie and am happy that they did not pick Freddie Prinze Jr. or Brendan Fehr to play Spider-Man. Tobey Maguire is the perfect choice to bring forth Spider-Mans human nature and troubled reality. He'll show the depth that Spider-Man has. To add with the great special effects and what looks to be a great plot-this should be an awesome movie. I am, however, disappointed that Kirsten Dunst was chosen to play Mary Jane. I will say she is a good actress but it is too bad Kate Hudson had to back out-she would have fit the puzzle perfectly.
I can't wait til May 3rd.
P.S. Does anyone know the name of the songs played in the Spider-Man previews?
