Summary: Gritty, spectacular, and true to life!
Review: This film is definitely a masterpiece. From its realistic portrayal of police work to the down to earth acting, Plan 9 From Outer Space is a real 50's classic. The special effects can't be beat! Like the subtle use of patio furniture in every room, the ingenius shower curtain in the airplane cocpit, and the burning paper plate UFO's. The acting, of course, is also accurate. For instance, the constant redundancies in the dialogue, and the physical faux pas...like when the zombie gets stuck and has trouble climbing out of the grave. The supurb attention to detail and inventive sets is another story. Check out the realistic clocks and wooden tables inside the space ship! This film deserves the reputation and honors associated with it. And it's about the funniest movie ever...

Summary: Let's break a spear for it
Review: I will focus my comment on the meaning of a film and the passion of Ed Wood. Many people classify Plan 9 as the worst/best film ever made, perhaps any of them had a good reason to think so, but if there is someone to whom this film gave anything, then this film has the reason to be made. I believe that Ed Wood was great because with no resources and with a lot of work he made his dream real: to make films, following his passion. Many of us spend our life only dreaming of it, instead he did it. Perhaps he hadn't talent, but, as other said here, his result is equal to many other more-budgeted films. When I see Plan 9, I laugh and this isn't what Ed wanted: I like any kind of demential film and I think it's one not to lose !

Summary: ?
Review: Blessed(cursed) by Ed Wood, a misguided genius, with horrible dialogue, bad voice acting, poor casting, flying hubcap spaceships, walking dead, and much more. Bela Lugosi, one of the main stars, died after two days of shooting, and was replaced by a chiropracter half his age! Still, probably the funniest movie ever made. Watch it.

Summary: So bad it's funny
Review: This movie is so terrible it's almost funny to watch. Given the Double turkey award not once, but TWICE, shows you how bad this moive really is (Golden Turkeys are give for the worst movies ever made). One thing no one ever mentions is that Bela Lugosi died in the making of this movie. In the rush to fill his place as the vampire they cast his wife's chiropracter! So, in watching the movie there are scenes where the vampire is several inches taller and has different color hair. All in all this movie is atrocious, but everyone should see it at least once.

Summary: I am being extremely generous giving this movie 1 star
Review: Ed Wood should thank me. This hilariously inept supposed-to-be horror film isn't even worth 1 star. It's not even worth the shabby props or the sorry acting that can be found in this movie. Plan 9 From Outer Space has a classic reputation for being the world's worst movie. Even to the untrained eye, the movie mistakes in this film are gargantuan. It seems that there's a mistake every 10 to 20 seconds. Watch it... I cracked up during every scene. I certainly don't recommend this film for the Oscars. But watch it, I guarantee you'll find many mistakes

Summary: So bad, it's great - however .....
Review: .... "The Creeping Terror" was worse ...hard to imagine but true! A guy under a rug decorated with vacuum cleaner hoses, shuffles along devouring hapless folks who somehow are unable to simply walk away. When the carpet munched a bunch of kids and later a bunch of soldiers, it resulted in a, "multiple missing persons" report. More great dialogue ... when a cop discovers the strange craft (bottom of a garage door) the monster arrived in, he exclaims, "it ain't an airplane"! At the end, the narrator referring to a mortally wounded scientist says, "When asked of mankind's future ... Dr. Caldwell was pessimistic".

Summary: NICE ATTEMPT AT A LOW-RENT S.E. CAN'T HIDE SHODDY EXECUTION
Review: Not that PLAN 9 was worthy of the Criterion Collection, but it deserved a bit better than the presentation Passport has given it. The transfer is slightly above VHS and the mastering is pretty bad. Hell, even the old VHS tape looked better. Granted, it's a film in the public domain, but couldn't you have found better materials? Worst of all is the company logo that plays throughout most of the movie - like anyone would rip it off!! However, Passport does try to make some amends by offering interviews with some of Wood's cronies and with ED WOOD Johnny Depp and Martin Landau, interviews taken off a 1994 press junket. There are also trailers for 4 other Wood films, and even if they too vary in quality, they are fun to watch. The film is the real star and is worth owning in any format. I just wish this one were better.

Summary: 3 STARS BECAUSE IT'S HILARIOUS!
Review: There really is such a thing as a movie being so bad it's good. Since this "cult classic" is so cheesily done in every way, it actually becomes entertaining enough to rate it 3 stars. My three favorite parts are A. When the man from outer space tells the earth man that earth people are "Stupid, stupid, stupid." B.When the man tells his wife he saw a flying saucer and she points up and says, "You mean--from out THERE?" and C. When the two officers are walking through the graveyard and one says, "There are people dying in this cemetery--and somebody's responsible." Since it's entited "PLAN 9", I also wondered in exactly what way those "outer space guys" must have bungled the first 8 plans, before they thought of taking over freshly dead bodies? Or was this Ed Wood's 9th attempt at a box-office blockbuster? Way out!!

Summary: This movie is not worth a fleas but
Review: This movie is so bad that I could probably make a better one. Paper plates on strings + horrible acting + fat guys + morons with camras + Idiotic narrators + cheesey special effects = Plan nine from outer space.

Summary: worst movie
Review: This is said to be the worst movie ever. I don't know if I can agree because I've some pretty bad movies like "Ape" and "Hobglobins." As to putting the movie on Mystery Science Theater 3000, I don't know either. It's already really funny without anything said by Mike, Tom Servo, and Crow. But people should at least give Ed Wood credit for figuring out a way to get someone to finance this terrible movie.
