Summary: Possibly the greatest Star Trek ever
Review: I'm what you'd call a die hard Star Trek fan. I used to think THE WRATH OF KAHN was the best Star Trek, but this one comes very close. It's funny, action-packed, and will make you think. Very entertaining, even if you are not into Sar Trek.

Summary: Insurrection will satisfy and entertain
Review: Star Trek: Insurrection had the unfortunate task of following-up one of the best films in the series (First Contact). As usuall, the "hardcore" trek fans (I don' even know why they call themselves "fans" when all they do is complain)have given the film mixed reviews. The truth is, this is an entertaining film with a fun and interesting storyline that will please general movie viewers. This is more the "Indiana Jones" of the Star Trek films; boasting action/adventure which is done more for fun than for suspense, romance, "mystical" secrets that need to be uncovered and protected, and fantastic outdoor settings. The special effects are not as exciting as the previous film's, but the cinemetography and sets are breathtaking. This film is the most pure "fun" of the series, and the plot suffers at times because of it, but overall, it's worth it. The story plays like a television episode, which is unfortunate. I loved the film, but I think Trek movies need to be MOVIES, with epic stories and characters. Again, don't be daunted by Trek fans who will not be satisfied with anything less than the space battle to end all space battles, etc. This film had heart and character and was more intellegent than any "shoot-em-up" could have been.

Summary: Well worth watching!
Review: Though this movie doesn't take the number 1 spot as far as Star Trek movies go, I'd have to say that it is well worth watching. I agree with an earlier post that this movie captures the feel of the original Star Trek series. The acting was good, the plot was original, and the film is entertaining overall. It will make a fine addition to anyone's DVD colection!

Summary: why can't I give it more than five stars?
Review: Depite what others may say, the simple fact of the matter is-- it's Star Trek, hence it rules!

Summary: As Usual
Review: The latest Star Trek picture proves to be just another installment of a never-ending franchise. Appropriately enough, Insurrection centers around a "Fountain of Youth" world where paradise is inhabited by Caucasians. The film is full of cliches that give the film all the charm of a good ol' western: saving the ranch from rustlers, the lone star in a white hat and so forth. Howver, this is Insurrection's greatest appeal: a revival of that old time cinema, the fight between clearly defined villains and heroes. Moreover, the charachters and plot are easier to follow in this Star Trek movie precisely for that reason. All in all, Star Trek falls short of going beyond "the final fronteir" in terms of originality, but it cleverly retools a genre that has been sorely macbre in recent years. It's worth watching, but don't expect some kind of new insight on human nature that Star tRek is famous for doing.

Summary: Great Movie, but...
Review: Star Trek: Insurrection is a great movie! I am a die-hard trekkie and I thought all the ST:TNG movies have been excellent. I think Insurrection was kind of not what I expected from the Star Trek creators. The third movie in the series could have been a lot better. The "fountain of youth" theme was kind of what I would expecet from an episode...not a movie. Other wise, the movie exceeded normal standards. The graphics were excellent and the cast acted very well. Star Trek: Insurrection is one movie that will be added to my relatively small video collection!

Summary: A decent follow-up in the series
Review: I was very disappointed with Generations. I thought it was very anticlimactic. With First Contact, they did everything right. So naturally, it would be difficult to follow. I enjoyed Insurrection quite a bit. Yes, it did seem like an overly long NG episode, but that is not necessarilly a bad thing. I will definitely add it to my Star Trek collection.

Summary: one of the worst star trek movies!
Review: Don't watch this movie unless you are doing something. Don't buy it, rent it.

Summary: I was expecting a little more.
Review: The newest installment in the Star Trek movie series, "Insurrection", was definately entertaining, but I was expecting a little more. First of all, "First Contact", I felt, was much better. The f/x in "Insurrection" seemed too fake, (especially the Enterprise). The ships did not look as real as in previous films. The story was original, the crew saving a people whom possess eternal youth. something which has not been done before in the Star Trek films. However, too much of the film was spent on the planet, and not enough of the Enterprise. For an average Trekker, "Insurrection" satisfies, but for hard-core Trekkers like myself, it wasn't as entertaining as previous films.

Summary: Star Trek Insurrection: Join the Rebellion
Review: This movie is a good choice to buy because it is suitable for all audiences and it really did expand the franchise. If your a fan of Star Trek or action, buy Star Trek Insurrection because its better than Star Trek V, way better!!!!!!
