Summary: The way hacking should be
Review: I read a couple of the previous reviews before writing this one. I was amused to see some say it was unrealistic. Well...yeah. It wasn't meant to be realistic. If it had been done realistically with nothing but text and UNIX logons, does anybody really think that would've held the audience's attention? I tend to look at it as the way some hackers probably wish things could be. I'm an A+ certified computer tech with in depth knowledge of Windows, UNIX, and several alternative PC OS's, as well as the hardware they run on, and the fact that it was unrealistic was, to me, one of the selling points. I like a good sci-fi/fantasy film, especially one that touches on technology that's familiar to most everybody these days.

Underneath the unrealistic depiction though, the plotline was realistically solid and certainly believable to an extent, given the skills of the mondern era's hackers and coders. The music was also well done and appropriate to the genre. All in all this is a good film that both myself and most of my friends put on at least once every time we have a party or some other gathering.

Summary: GOOD FOR UNDERSTAND HACKERS MIND
Review: Without lose thsat funny, this film present as a vision of the multiple faces of the reality of the hackers. You can view different levels: from a action movie or science fiction movie ,case of study for juridical analysis, until source of study of psichological aspects of the parts in conflict. It hurts that a upgrade version doesn't exist at the 2001

Summary: Hooray for this movie.
Review: Forget about the hacking. Throw the computer premise out the window. This movie is about the way that Miller and Jolie wind up falling in love. People think I'm on crack for thinking it, but this movie isn't about how well they can hack, it's them trying to outdo each other in an attempt to impress and possibly woo the other. Of course, I could be totally wrong on this, but oh well.

Also, GREAT GREAT GOOD HAPPY movie. Noboy can watch this without cracking a smile. There's a few scenes that are played out, but all in all this is primarily a movie for people who know how to sit back and watch a fun movie.

Yeah.

Summary: Great cyberpunk thriller.
Review: By far one of my favorite movies, this movie features on of the hottest actresses in the world, Angelina Jolie. This movie has a very basic plot...a bunch of hackers hack into the wrong computer system. I think that the director or the costume designer or whatever did great picking out the clothes and computers used in this film. This is a must-see of anyone.

Summary: My favorite!
Review: Yes, yes; It is very fictional. However, it is a fun and exiting movie that everyone should see, and has most of the best one-liners.

Summary: Required for any Computer Nerd!
Review: This is a classic! An absolute must for any true computer developer.

Summary: Complete fiction, but entertaining...
Review: the whole premise of technology in this movie is fiction... if you can accept that then it's very entertaining movie... Angelina Jolie looks fantastic in this movie... plus if you're into computers you'll laugh to yourself when the three main characters are drooling over a laptop that today would be tossed in the trash...

It's worth the purchase IMHO...

Summary: An intriguing movie for a younger audience
Review: This movie was put together as a modern day war time movie. Good vs bad, intelligent vs inept, etc. It had the same basic plot as many other movie simply trying to draw younger audiences, as opposed to drawing adults and young adults on a whole. In light, of course, to its obvious attempt to attract older audiences by strangely erotic dreams from two high school teenagers. Lets face it, was it really necessary to paint a computer in army fatigues color in order to do a rightous hack(a phrase used in the movie), or federal offense? All in all I will say it was a good movie, and put together well, but for younger audiences.

Summary: Careful Watching it, You Might Get Addicted
Review: This movie is simply put the best. I have seen this movie at least thirty times (yes, really... its a tradition with a friend of mine)and I havent gotten tired of it yet. Despite the fact that what happens in the movie isnt remotely realistic, its still very entertaining and an overall pleasurefull experience to watch. My final advice: If you haven't seen this movie, buy it now... you wont be dissapointed.

Summary: A Fantastic, Yet slightly flawed movie.
Review: An excellent effort for a less known director. High levels of charisma with both the Dade and Kate characters, adding to the seriousness, with the comic relief by the "Phreak" and "Cerial Killer" hacker characters. Despite the cliqued storyline (good guys framed by bad), the movie is fast paced and fun, including great one-liners and teen dialogue. Even though this movie is disliked by some, via it's obvious departing from reality, and editing flaws, Hackers is the first movie to enter the lifestyle and emotions of hackers and the introduction of the internet and the mass corruption of information.

Quick Story: Boy is banned from computer usage till his 18th birthday due to a massive virus while created a wall street crash. Meets up with 5 other hackers whom stumble on and into a massive crime with both ecological and economic damage involving an oil company. Throw in a few secret service agents, a prank contest and some really freaky dreams and watch till the end..

My advice is to ignore the fact that a 28.8 modem couldnt possibly reach those speeds, and enjoy the movie. Because remember, even "The Matrix" had it's story holes too.
