Rating: Summary: "BATMAN" SHOWS HOW A COMIC SUPERHERO FILM SHOULD BE DONE. Review: Even if "Superman" is a decent movie, Batman is the real thing; Tim Burton created an ultra-stylized film, and his dark version of the superhero paid tribute to the true spirit of the D.C. Comics, instead of the TV comedy series; in my opinion that was the right choice. This film is also the best of the series; when Tim Burton and Michael Keaton left this movie franchise after "Batman Returns", the quality of the rest of the films was pretty poor. In "Batman" there are a lot of things to enjoy: good casting (Michael Keaton, Jack Nicholson of course, Kim Basinger and Jack Palance, to name a few), good music, great sets, ultra cool gadgets (the Batmovile is amazing) and a very interesting story. Making a comic superhero film is not an easy task to perform, but Tim Burton proved to be the right choice in this film.
Rating: Summary: Hey its a bird its a plane, it sure isnt superman its batman Review: Batman is one hell of a movie. It's got action, love, a villian, and a great freakin superhero. Michael Keaton is a great Batman (the best of them all) although he isn't as good as Vall Kilmer as Bruce Wayne he is definetly the best dark knight. Jack Nicholson steals the show as the Joker. He's not the kind of actor in this movie where they have a big flaw in their performance, he's perfect for the part. Tim Burton did a great job of making gothim city dark and evil. So from reading this review you know that batmans the best. If you like this movie you should definetly see the secong one (Batman Returns).
Rating: Summary: The King of bad comic to film adaptations... Review: Tim Burton's take on the Batman story is lost in a weak script, over-kill production design, and too many one liners by Jack Nicolson as the Joker, who was paid way too much money for the role. All bad comic to film projects started with this Turkey.
Rating: Summary: The first of the series Review: Rich, but alone, without parents, with only one guide, young bilionare Bruce Wayne was forced to watch the brutal murder of his parents. But after years of harsh training and discipline, Bruce returns to Gotham as the city's mysterious defender, know throughout the world as Batman, defending the helpless and vanquishing horrible villians. This is the first movie in Warner Bros.'s "Batman" series, a collection of movies based on one of the world's famous comic book superheroes. Directed by Tim Burton and starring Micheal Keaton, the movie is dark and mysterious, but it also contains action, adventure, and lovable comedy (you gotta love the Joker, played with delight by Oscar Winner Jack Nicholson). In a world of despair, there came hope. In a time of darkness, there came new light. And in a time of evil, there came a powerful hero! Made in 1989, it flows in the same style of early 90's movies, making it somewhat boring. But if you're a fan of superhero movies, this one is for you. Experience the mystery, the slendor, and the adventure, as you are transported into the mysterious world of Batman, where you meet him for the first time. This is recommend to fan of comic books.
Rating: Summary: The best one of them all! Review: Michael Keaton becomes the Caped Crusader in this OUTSTANDING rendition of Bob Kane's comic hero. Jakc Nicholson steals the show as the Joker who combines some chemicals to make common toiletries & cosmetics fatal. EXCELLENT soundtrack by Danny Elfman!
Rating: Summary: It's Batman! Review: Surely you know who Batman is. Then you know he is the second most recognized American hero next to Superman. Batman was the next big success in DC's comic to film genre. Marvel is only now beginning to realize the potential in the mainstream comic to film genre. There are a lot of films around that originate in comics that no one knows about (e.g. From Hell). Spiderman was a great film for 2002, Daredevil is expected to do well, and Hellboy is in the making. If you liked or look forward to any of these, then you must own Batman. If you have not seen it, come out from hiding. Acknowledge that geniuses have made an incredible machine that allows people to views great stories on a screen. And then find a means to experiencing this film. Five out of five stars.
Rating: Summary: "you made me. i made you. its a vicios circle Review: michael keaten is batman. in the first installment of 4 movies batman must face off against the JOKER and bruce wayne needs to keep his love life in tact without blowing his secret. this is the best movie of the BATMAN saga and will most likley stay the best. for any batman fan i reccomend this movie.
Rating: Summary: the one and only Live-Batman movie! Review: When somebody ask me about the Batman Movies, i say that this movie should be the only one in the franchise. The movie is great... a world of difference between this movie and the previous movie, and the 70's series (adam west, burt ward, anyone?). In the foreign language support, you find here english, spanish and french subtitles (sorry, no spanish audio track). In the goodies section, this DVD has almost nothing (only cast biographys) The type of the box was not very [good] i really [dislike] those [inexpensive] box that had a lot of pasting tape (supposeddly to avoid being stoled, but when you try to remove it, you damage the box itself), besides the design of it is really cool.
Rating: Summary: This could easily be my favorite movie of all time Review: Tim Burton's BATMAN was a masterpiece. The way he took the legendary comic-book character and brought him to life was just excellent. The set peices he used and te dark, gloomy, and gothic atmosphere is perfect for the Batman story. No one could have done a better job. Everyone knows the story behind Batman: Bruce Wayne's parents were murdered right in front of him and years later, he became Batman to stop crime and hopefully seek revenge on his parent's killer. In Tim Burton's version of BATMAN, Batman (Bruce Wayne, played by Michael Keaton) is a myth in Gotham City and described as not human. They say he can't be killed, drinks blood, and are not sure, if he exists, if he is good or bad. Jack Napier (Jack Nicholson) works for a gang of criminals. But all hell breaks loose when he is set up for a heist at Axis Chemicals by his boss. The police bust them and the chemical plant is destroyed. Of course, Batman shows up and has a showdown with Napier which ends with Batman accidently dropping him into a pool of toxic chemicals. Now Batman is wanted for the murder of Jack Napier. Napier is presumed dead, but somehow survives with a disfigured and discolored face. He becomes The Joker. He takes charge of the gang and becomes Batman's arch enemy. Joker then wrecks havoc on Gotham creating toxic products for people so after they use them, they die, but with a smile on their face. He also is set on wooing Bruce's love interest, Vicky Vale (Kim Basinger). Batman is set to do battle with The Joker and his gang of thugs, but the city does not know weather to think of Batman as a friend or an enemy. Batman is definatly the best hero. But warning to those who have not seen it: This is no Superman movie or Spider-Man movie. It's not light-hearted and fun for the whole family. It's very dark, violent, and action-packed. More of a movie for fans of Batman and action movie fans. BATMAN will remain my all time favorite movie for a long time. "BATMAN" runs for about 2 hours. It is rated PG-13 for some scenes of strong violence, and some language.
