Rating: Summary: Batman Too Dark Review: Noone is a better Dark Knight than Keaton. Noone will ever fill his shoes, well boots. But this original is too dark and the story is on the border line of being flat and dull. Didn't think every much of it. I don't think any Batman films in the last ten years has done the comic justice.
Rating: Summary: Destined to become a cult classic. Review: In the first Batman, the Caped Crusader battles against the insane, critical, and often dangerous Joker as he tries to gain control of the city by use of the lethal Smilex gas. Full of fast-paced action and plenty of thrills. The art direction of Gotham and the setting of it as a gloomy, broken-down city infested with crime makes it worthwile to watch. This movie is truly destined to become a cult classic.
Rating: Summary: This film REEKS. Review: This film is crummy. Micheal Keaton was without a doubt the WORST BATMAN! Val Kilmer is the best Batman. It didn't have the "comicbook" look to it like the others. You didn't get as much of a Gotham feel. Like old cars and so on. It looked like New York. You can see it if you must but... It's nowhere near as good as Forever. The suit wasn't tight enough, so it was flopping around on his face. Anyone can look like Batman, but only some can look like Bruce Wayne. An old, fat, short ugly Bruce Wayne isn't exactly what most picture as Batman. The only one who has been spoke of that could do worse is Kurt Russel. At least he dosn't wear tights! (boy would his gut show then)
Rating: Summary: Original, Mysterious, Action packed, and full of Batman Review: Definitely the best Batman film. Very dark and mysterious, but not so as to scare little kids. People of all ages will love seeing the best Batman actor, Michael Keaton. Jack Nicholson is dazzling as the Joker, and Kim Basinger is stunning as Vicki Vale. Just remember, no matter how bad the sequels get, one can always reflect on the majestic awe of the legendary Batman.
Rating: Summary: "Specialises in a gothic perspective-good. Review: Tim Burton's creativity and limitless imagination is attested to in the original Batman instalment.Features the appropiately cast Jack Nicholson as the nefarious, pasty-faced harlequin-Joker, ravenously overembellishes in the malestrom of the role, outstaging his co-stars.
Rating: Summary: ONE OF THE MOST BRILLIANT HERO MOVIES EVER MADE! Review: I love and will always love this movie. It is sad that Bob Kane died last year, very sad. Batman will always be the greatest hero of all. Michael Keaton was excellent. Batman of the 60's(Adam West) matched his time period, so respect that. I know that Batman and Robin wasn't as good as its predecessors, because the producers were too caught up in the 90's technoligical gadgets that they forgot what Batman was really about. I've studied many comics and I know the Batman character inside and out, he's one of the reasons I became a gymnyst and is an excellent role model for a teen athlete like me. Anyway, Bob Kane is dead, may god rest his soul. He never really got the credit he deserved, he was only part of the miscellaneous crew in the latest Batman. They say he died of heart failure, but I think he died because you, like many other men today, have abandonned your faith in angels and miracles, but you'd see miracles happening everyday, and angels all around us, if we would only open our eyes, and look up. Thanks Bob
Rating: Summary: The Best Batman Movie Review: This is the perfect example of what Batman and Robin is not. Tim Burton shows his directing birlliance in this cult hit! Nothing Jim Carrey or Arnold Schwarchenhager can do that can disgrace Nicholsen's brilliant performace as The Joker. This is what Gotham is all about.
Rating: Summary: Tim Burton has the greatest imagination in show biz. Review: To the viewer from Canada? So what is Batman isn't a kid's movie. Its a dark and brilliant visual masterpiece.Tim Burton's genius is most evident in this classic movie.Im 16 and I love this movie.I am just the type of person who indulges in dark entertainment.Jack Nicholson is great as the joker. This is a true action movie. All the characters are deeper and more likeable than the actors on the crappy TV show.
Rating: Summary: The Viewer from Canada -read this and please understand. Review: Well, I do have only a few compaints. One is that people over look the fact that while seeing Nicholson as the Joker is highly entertaining, if you are a true, avid reader of the comics (especially Frank Miller's "Dark Knight Returns"), you know that there are people who could have played the part better. The maniacal grin is not, according to the comics, a permanent condition. Plus, Nicholson is, physically speaking, not an equal of the comics' Joker (Tall and wire-thin). Even so, this is a very minor complaint, and I must admit that this is the best of the features. As an answer to the viewer from Canada, comics aren't necessarily "just for kids" anymore. Any pro in the field will tell you that. Look at "Spawn" and such and you'll see what I mean.
