Rating: Summary: This, the first in the series, is by far the best. Review: Tim Burton, with the late Anton Furst, capture the gothic world of the Dark Knight and present it to the audience in a larger-than life surrealistic motif, sadly missing in the third and fourth feature films. The musical score (subtle in the background) sets the dark offbeat tone of the movie. Truly, this stands to be the best Batman and I never tire of viewing it with my family. I highly recommend it.
Rating: Summary: The Best Bats Flick Yet Review: Dark and moody, but not too dark. Jack Nicholson is (as always) absolutely fabulous as Joker, while Michael Keaton is the best Batman. It's no great masterpiece, but a great rental, and loads of fun. Even for those who are not avid comic-book readers, it's good.
Rating: Summary: "BATMAN"; The way it was meant to be seen! Review: This is a CLASSIC!! Tim Burton's direction combines the dark world of Gotham City, the comic book, and a awesome cast with the ONE and ONLY BATMAN, Michael Keaton with an equally creepy performance by Jack Nicholson as THE JOKER. I've loved this movie ever since I first saw it! If you've ever loved comic books and Batman, I wonder why YOU haven't seen this movie yet!
Rating: Summary: Batman rocks Review: Although I like Superman more Batman is my 2nd favorate superhero. This movie was pretty good, but some parts were cheesy.Batman fans will love this movie and I liked it to,but it was pretty boring.
Rating: Summary: Boring............. Review: Okay, I had a stopwatch...and I watched the whole movie, and 8:45 seconds are all the time in the movie that had action including Batman. The Beggining part was only about a 45 second drop in and out. The gas plant only gave Batman about 1:30 seconds of camera time. They car chase and the fist fight out of the museum was only about 4:00. And the rest of the Movie was in the batplane, Batman getting the crap beatin' out of him, and Batman walking up the stairs.
Rating: Summary: Great job Burton! This is Batman in his best form! Review: This is such a great flick! Filled with great action and a good story, this film is definitely true to the Batman Saga unlike Schumacher's wrecks.Keaton IS Batman. Nothing you could say can make me think otherwise. He's a great Bruce Wayne and a fantastic Batman. Thankfully in the Tim Burton Batman movies, Batman doesn't take a backseat to the villians which is what happened in the Schumacher movies. This movie, Batman Returns, and ALL of the animated movies are the TRUE vision of Batman. Don't waste time on renting Schumacher's flicks if you havent seen them. Trust me, as a big time Batman fan, you're not missing a thing with them. Tim Burton rocks!
Rating: Summary: THIS IS THE BEST & MY FAVE FILM OF ALL TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: Superman can kiss my U know what. As my favourite superhero, I expected to like the Batman movie, but I didn't know I'd love it!! Even though Keaton isn't really given enough screeen time, Nicholson makes up for it in this Oscar-worthy role. Excellent production design, excellent cast, excellent action scenes, and some fun Prince songs to boot. Even though Batman Returns is amazing, it's too bad this film got franchised into oblivion.
Rating: Summary: THE BEST 'BATMAN' MOVIE OF ALL TIME Review: As with ALL the other films that I have reviewed, I also have this one in my collection. Tim Burton does an OUTSTANDING job directing this flick based on Bob Kane's classic comic book creation. Michael Keaton gives the BEST performance of his career as the "DARK KNIGHT" of "GOTHAM CITY". Jack Nicholson is FANTASTIC in his portrayal of the maniacal "JOKER". The Danny Elfman & Prince scores fit the scenes perfectly. Although this the BEST representation of the famous comic book crimefighter, it DOES have one flaw. Although WB STUDIOS wanted to disassociate this film from the classic tv series of the '60s, I PERSONALLY think that they SHOULD HAVE used Adam West the flashback sequence of "BATMAN'S" origin as " BRUCE WAYNE'S" father as a way of handing down the mantle. Again 5 STARS.
Rating: Summary: THE BEST AND GREATEST "BATMAN" MOVIE OF ALL TIME Review: As usual, with ALL THE OTHER films that I have reviewed, I also have this classic in my collection. Tim Burton does an OUTSTANDING job directing this 1989 flick. Michael Keaton gives the BEST performance of his career as the "DARK KNIGHT DETECTIVE". Jack Nicholson is MAGNIFICENT as the manical "JOKER". The Danny Elfman and Prince score fit this film perfectly. Although this movie version disassiociated itself from the classic tv series, I PERSONALLY think that the studio SHOULD HAVE used Adam West the flashback sequence of "BATMAN'S" origin, as a way of handing down the mantle. Again 5 STARS.
Rating: Summary: Batman Is Excellent Review: Keaton gives us the best performance of his career and the same with Nicholson. This is one of Tim Burton's best movies of all time. This could be by far one of the best modern films of all time. It's up there with Titanic and Braveheart.
