Summary: Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome - Best Movie in the series !
Review: Max Max : Beyond Thunderdome - The best movie in the series, in my humble opinion...Mel Gibson, as always, does a great job in the title role, with an excellent supporting role from Tina Turner, as Aunty Entity. The movie shows the final stages of Max's journey of self-discovery, and is a very good blend of a moral play, science-fiction and action. In the opening scenes, Max is still just surviving, not really living, until his possessions are stolen. Looking to gain revenge on the thieves, he finds Bartertown, and runs head on into Aunty Entity. After a fight scene in a bungy filled cage (one of the best fight scenes I have ever seen in a movie), and a trip on horseback into the desert, he is found by a tribe of children, some of whom are led by Max, back toward Bartertown, to save their lives, having lost their water in the desert. Max's ability to survive is tested to the max (no pun intended), in this movie, and he finds in himself a lost spark of compassion which enables him to sacrifice his chance to escape to allow his friends to fly away, to safety. I have loved this film for ages, and I am glad I now have a DVD copy. Well worth the investment.

Review: After watching Road warrior i woud have thought it would be better, but i was wrong. I am not saying it is really bad but they could have done better.I did like the movie, it showed what happened after he saved the the gas nomads. How everything adapted to what had happened.

Review: When I first found this DVD, I was like "Holy Jesus, this is that movie that I sometimes see on USA but don't know the name, but it kicks all ass!" After buying the movie, I bought the soundtrack too, because Tina Turner is fantastic. This post-apocalyptic thriller is the best movie of the trilogy (with a new movie coming out soon!) as it explores the dynamic character Max and his trek through the Australian nuclear wilderness. This is a major cultural movie, something that you can't miss. Quotes from this movie are all over today. "Bust a deal, face the wheel," "two men enter, one man leave," this is Mel Gibson's best role ever.

Summary: The action falters, but the setting soars
Review: Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome receives a great deal of bitterness. This is expected, it is a follow-up to one of the greatest of all action movies, with action scenes that aren't as good. Granted, the action sequences in the movie are quite exciting, but they easily fall short of the grandeur of The Road Warrior. Indeed, as a follow-up to The Road Warrior, Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome does not deserve a 5-Star Rating. But what Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome does manage to do is build upon the fantastic setting that was only hinted at in Mad Max and The Road Warrior. The wastelands depicted in the first two films are not enough to contain the skyhigh ambitions of the world that director George Miller has created. With the addition of Bartertown, characters like Master-Blaster, and the final jarring vision of civilization presented in the film's closing moments, Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome is still up to par with its much-loved predecessor. A viewer expecting another Road Warrior will be disappointed; but a viewer that wants to go back to the nameless, post-apocalyptic world of this film's two predecessors will not be.

Review: Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome is really a great action adventure! I loved it! Tina Turner is great as Aunty Entity, the queen of Bartertown, and Mel Gibson's great too. Really entertaining! Tina also performs two title songs, Grammy-winning One Of The Living and Golden Globe/Grammy-nominated We Don't Need Another Hero (Thunderdome) which was a huge hit. If you like this kind of movie see this too! Enjoy!

Review: This movie was one of my favorite. For first time viewers it is excellent. Mel Gibson is excellent. It takes place after the apacolypse and the world is destroyed except a few survivors. GREAT BUY!

Summary: Disappointing sequel to "The Road Warrior"
Review: After a fairly promising start, this film becomes a major disappointment, turning into something out of "The Goonies". Considering that this film is the sequel to what I believe is the best action movie ever made (The Road Warrior), Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome had a lot to live up to; unfortunately, it wasn't up to the challenge. If you've seen "The Road Warrior", you may appreciate this little comparison: Road Warrior had Wez as an antagonist, a physically impressive and memorable villain. This film has a villain dressed almost the same, but the actor is about a foot shorter and chubby. And he's supposed to inspire the same fear and excitement in the audience? Please. Even the casting of Tina Turner, who some reviewers have raved about, did nothing for me. Anyway, except for the diehard Mad Max fan, this is a movie you can skip. Go watch "Mad Max 1" instead. At least that movie had the excuse of not having a budget.

Summary: GR8 'poplyptic' Flick
Review: Fantastic sci-fi 'rough' visuals and story line; after an apparent World War 3, Max (Mel Gibson) is one of the few survivors in a apopalyptic Australia. Max fights the elements, a 'dog-eat-dog' world of (needfully) ruthless survivalists, and his own morals/ethics to survive and aid a band of youngsters. Good plot, filmography, acting, and directing. I'd give it five stars, but its only in my top 20, not my top 10. I am picky though.

Summary: The Worst of The Trilogy
Review: George Miller's last installment in the Mad Max Trilogy. Although the film keeps up the apocalyptic setting and theme of The Road Warrior, the plot here's rather far-fetched and seems to undermine the dramatic elements of the film.
Mad Max is now a messiah who seeks to protect a settlement of naive followers against the intrusions of Queen Aunty Entity (Tina Turner), the leader of a hodge-podge city-state named Bartertown. She keeps her subjects entertained by holding gladiatorial contests in the town's Thunderdome; a caged dome in which the contestants lunge at each other with weapons while suspened in the air. Will Mad Max be able to protect his innocent followers from Aunty Entity's evil machinations?
The only fault I find with this film is having Mad Max as some sort of messiah. His followers seemed too naive and ignorant to have been able to develop a sophisticated settlement in the first place. Their virtual muteness accompanied with the silly da-da talk makes them rather unsympathetic characters as well.
This is the worst of the three Mad Max films that is undermined by a rather uneven plot. I would recommend renting this film more than buying it.
