Summary: Beyond Lord Of The Flies
Review: Nobody phoned it in. Everybody, from the actors to the stuntmen to the
set-builders, had a hell of a lot of fun, and were totally into it. Scary,
scary stunts -- no computers, potentially lethal stuff, too! A "bad guy" who
quit and let the main actor go when she didn't get to her goal -- because
her real goal was holding together her community. The message that it's
women who will rebuild the community. AND -- in the end, tho' they didn't
spell it out -- the ultimate in recycling, and the only one that might give
us the energy WE need. They didn't need pigs because they had their own
"energy." Sewage is methane is lights. A TOTALLY Australian mindset --
aboriginals, prisoners and a cobbled-together society in the GABE (Great
Australian Bugger-All). Great fun with linguistics. Amazing group of child
actors. A weirdly familiar score because the composer WAS the guy who wrote
for Laurence of Arabia, and happy grabs, from scene angles to incidents,
from everybody from Kurosawa to David Leane to Warner Brothers' cartoons.
Great camera work, wonderful scenery. Just a fun flick! And one of the
great movie lines: "This is home. There is no Tomorrowland. And I ain't Captain Walker." (I swear, I'm gonna steal it, for whenever things go wrong.)

Review: The End is here with MM beyond Thunderdome!!! this film shines in its own right also! however a somewhat lighter film than the previous two, this film is such a FUN film you HAVE to love it!
this one finishes off the series with a Bang! the kids set this one apart for me from the previous two.the kids ala "lost boys" style from peter pan help keep Max in check, and let the viewer in on a more personal note , Max isnt Only looking out for himself anymore!
too bad this disc doesnt have any "goodies" on the disc, however its a good deal to still own the end of the trilogy!
too bad they didnt make these "franchise" films like Bond.

Summary: Transcends "action movie" status
Review: One thing before I start: I saw this movie before the other two in the series, so, to me, this movie IS what Mad Max is about. If you want good action movies, watch the previous two. If you like a good , futuristic movie with a lot of heart and a great soundtrack, watch this one. The feel of the whole movie is so parched and desolate, but so absorbing. Casting is wonderful, with most of the actors being undeniably, wonderfully Australian. costumes, sets and vehicles are all appropriately outlandish, and the action sequences, although not the centerpiece of the movie, are very creative. I think this film also represents Mel Gibson's first step to becoming something more than an action star. The plot never stops twisting, and in the end, leads back to what started it all. Exhilerating and crazy, this movie wears its heart on its dust-coated sleeve.
A great movie, all around, with a great message and an ending that begs a sequel.

Summary: An underrated, often exhilarating epic.
Review: Final entry to the Mad Max series features the titular hero helping a group of children against a tryrant (Tina Turner). Vastly underrated adventure film is a visual marvel, with scenes of great beauty and awe. The action sequences are terrific and the development of Gibson's character reaches its pinnacle. Yes, the children can be a bit annoying and the middle segment slags in comparison to the beginning and the finale, but overall, a very human film with a surprisingly rousing and upbeat ending. Gibson is superb once again in the lead role.

Summary: a pathetic closing after two spectacular movies
Review: I wish i had never watched this at all. The action in this movie is terrible. Tina Turner is annoying. Master blaster and the actual thunderdome battle are the only interstng things in this movie and the only reason it doesn't get a 1. Also that weird little racoon eyed kid is kind of fun...he should have his own movie. The ending of the actual film is pretty but it is very childish. I swear this movie was watered down to be accessible to eight year olds. In conclusion if a 8 year old or YOUNGER wants to see a mad max movie..this would be their ideal, otherwise dont waste time...go watch THe Road Warrior again.

Summary: Stands Fine on it's own
Review: It's a funny thig about the Mad Max Trilogy, with me with each one I'm left saying that's the best one. Mostly because all of them are good in their own right. Beyond Thunderdome is different from the other 2 though. Instead of most the action taking place with cars it takes Max to Bardertown where he has to make a deal with it's ruler "Tina Turner" inorder to get his car back. He finds himself having to fight Blaster in Thunderdome, a giant cage where 2 men enter and one man leaves. When Max refuges to kill his opponent he's sent to a desert to dye. After passing out and being nearly dead, he's rescued by these weird natives that believe he's a pilot named Walker. They believe he can flly them out of there to a distant city. Beyond Thunderdome gets a little corny when Max meets the natives mostly because they're annoying it's pretty obvious he's not the Walker fellow although he looks exactly like him. The natives and their home most likely inspired Spielberg for the look of the Lost Boys and their village in Hook though. This film probably has the best look of the 3 and possibly more Science Fiction too. Plus it does have the usual car duals at the end where Max fends off the natives from the Barder town freaks. The action in that scene is fantastic by the way. Die hard Max fans will probably like this one the least, it's different from the other 2 but it still stands very well on it's own. It's the lightest but it's still sexy, has the most imagination and it's action is pretty damn good too. Now if only it had a better dvd, "hint, hint", lol.

Summary: The Desert Warrior???
Review: While you can't really blame "Thunderdome" for failing to live up to its predecessors, Mad Max and The Road Warrior, you can find mild irritation in the fact that there isn't a single highway in this movie. Now, from what I've seen of this post-apocalypse future, venturing off into the desert would be a big mistake. The replacement of water instead of fuel as the main source of power also dragged the film into the world of desert cliches. Not that the action scenes aren't spectacular, they just don't seem to fit with the rest of the movie. En totale, rent this to polish off your Mad Max experience, it is about the equivalent of the third Alien movie. Just be warned, no one in this movie wears pants, except for Max.

Summary: MAD MAX BEYOND THUNDERDOME: Funny and Childish Movie
Review: In the year 1985, one last movie to complete a series was released. It was the third film to the Mad Max trilogy. Mel Gibson plays Max Rockatanski, the postnuclear hero, one last time. But this film is quite different from the first and second. It is nothing like "Mad Max" at all. The only way it is like "Road Warrior" is because it is also taking place during a post-apocalyptic time period as well. But there is hardly any action in this film and it doesn't seem so violent like the other two either. It's as if this one was meant to be a funny movie and more likely a type of movie for children. The only big action scene is this movie is the fight Max has with Blaster, big guy who is part of a little guy called Master, in the Thunderdome. The action conflict in this movie kinda seems dorky and not so violent like the one in "Road Warrior." Tina Turner also stars in this film as the evil villain of this story. She sang two great songs for this movie as well. "One of the Living" and "We Don't Need Another Hero." The reason I really don't like this movie as much is because it is boring mostly in the middle because Max is wasting time around a bunch of ignorant children who think he is somebody he's not. Nothing but annoying chanting and all. But I guess it is a funny movie because the music is trying to make you feel happy unlike the music in "Road Warrior" which tries to point out that times are terribly depressing. But Max redevelops his heart in this movie and no longer is an anti-hero at the end. He is a true hero and comes to realize he is the chosen one for restoring humanity. I wish this one had been more like the "Road Warrior" and at least related some to "Mad Max."

Summary: The best of the three
Review: Thunderdome is easily t best of the Mad Max movies. It's got a cool plot, a good soundtrack, and a wonderful cast of characters. Max and Aunty Entity are both cool as he!! and Ironbar and Pigkiller are hallarious. If you like Mel Gibson, then you'll love this film Also, this is the only PG-13 Max movie, so if you don't like nudity or a lot of rough language, this is the Max film for you

Summary: It's Not a Real Mad Max Movie
Review: Mad Max and Road Warrior were brilliant essays on society's need for a hero, and the inevitable triumph of a society that HAS a hero. Hollywood needed a way to package the Mad Max franchise and present it to an American audience, and Tina Turner had a hit album out back when the movie was made, so Thunderdome seemed like a good idea to the accountants on the committee that made this movie. Interesting to note that the "We Don't Need a Hero" Tina Turner song was in this movie. So any Mad Max movie in which a Hero is needed- that's a good movie. It's also interesting to compare Mad Max/Roadwarrior to Lethal Weapon, in which they DO talk about needing a hero. In fact many of the scenes in LW are extremely similar to scenes in MM/RW, if you change the clothes the actors are wearing and the setting. Just change Max Rockatanski's reflexes for Rigg's shooting accuracy, and you can see that the Mad Max franchise was successfully repackaged as the Lethal Weapon franchise. So go buy Mad Max, Road Warrior, Lethal Weapon, or Lethal Weapon 4, but Thunderdome is dross.
