Summary: Move over James Bond! Lara Croft kicks serious a**
Review: Move over James Bond, you have some serious competition in Lara Croft (Angelina Jolie). A personally favorite actress, she does a great job staying true to character and packing a wallop while never actually raising her voice. Calm, cool, collected, gorgeous and always fully armed. Looking forward to sequels. Friends and I danced out of the theater on opening day. Highly, highly recommended on my list!

Summary: Tomb Raider was great!!!
Review: Tomb Raider had everything the hype demanded: Action, tomb raiding, and of course Jolie as Lara Croft. The action sequences were well planned out, and Jolie did a fine job with them. However, how can a machine gun miss her that many times? This isn't the Matrix. The only other unbelievable note was buying that Jolie was British. Her British accent is not so good. Other than that, if you want to put some fun in your day, GO SEE THIS MOVIE!!! If you haven't played the game, you may not understand Lara very well.

Summary: More Action
Review: This is an O.K. movie, but there's not enough Tomb Raider style action. That, and the fact that Lara's dad's death ruins the storyline.

Summary: Lara-Angelina Rules
Review: This is a superb action movie. It gets down to business without any excessive preliminaries. The opening scene features Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft fighting Simon, a mighty robot--and this is just her training! The plot is neither complicated, nor particularly realistic. And therein lies the beauty of the film. It is adventure, fantasy, and action, all rolled into one. And, of course(how can one not mention this!?): Angelina Jolie posing for the camera, like the seductive tomb raider that she is. Lara Croft is an aritsocrat, intellectual, a superheroine, and one of the Valkyrs all at the same time.

The storyline takes back seat to the action/adventure/scenery part of the movie. But the storyline does have the underlying theme: the love of a daughter for her father. It was a nice touch to cast Jolie's real-life father as the father of Lara Croft who guides her from beyond the grave, because it added a certain sense of realism and persuasiveness to Jolie's acting. Obviously, this is not a tear jerker or a mushy overly-sentimental movie, but it does contains hints of tenderness, which I for one found credible. Aneglina Jolie, the action, and special effects grab you from the start and never let go, until the movie's ended.

The supporting cast is also quite good: from the Lara's comical butler to her arch rival--everyone and everything falls into place for this fabulous action-adventure that takes us from Britain to Cambodia to Russia, without missing a beat. Well done. This movie is lot's of fun. Go see it to appreciate Lara and her gun!

Summary: Tomb Raider the Movie- much, much better than I expected
Review: Hi. I am 11 years old. I have all the Tomb Raider games; I have been playing since I was 9. I really thought the movie was going to stink, but I was way wrong. My favorite character was Alex West. This movie is full of great action, adventure, and a lot of diologue. Angelina Jolie (sorry if I spelled that wrong) is superb as Lara; you can really believe she is Lara Croft. Be warned before taking children to this movie, for Miss Jolie shows a lot more than cleavage in one part (I think in the middle of the movie). Some disappointments: her old butler is now a young one (as much as that butler freaks me in the games, I wanted to see him on big screen), also in the games, the story is Lara's parents disown her after finding out she wants to be an adventurer, for they look down on that. In the movie, her father was an adventurer, her mother is dead. Besides those little things, this movie is really good, but if you aren't familiar with the games, you might not enjoy this movie as much as I did. Thanks for reading this!...

Summary: Not a very good film.
Review: Another Hollywood blockbuster that failed to meet the hype. Weak script and poor editing is made up a bit by Angelina Jolie and her father, Jon Voight, the scenes they have together are touching and are the high point on this otherwise poorly made film.

Summary: Delightful film starring Angelina Jolie
Review: While I've never played the game, I can't vouch for the film's integrity in staying true to the game. I did enjoy watching a strong female lead character. Angelina Jolie shines once again. Full of action and great special effects, this film is a must see.

Summary: Fun action, but hollow characters, and no story moral
Review: The action scenes are fun, and true to the atmosphere of the famous video game franchise; but Angelina Jolie plays Lara Croft as aloof and unlikeable. They have Lara Croft smart enough to be figuring out ancient puzzles and such, yet dumb enough that her ex-boyfriend is some geeky, bad guy, rival tomb raider. That makes no sense.

There was a potential for a nice moral to the story, for Father's Day weekend, when this movie was released; but that got shot down by the end of the film, leaving the movie with no point, no human moral to the story.

It's enjoyable to see this film once, but it has nothing to offer to win over new fans for the Lara Croft: Tomb Raider video game universe. I can recommend this only to fans of the games; for anyone else, this is pretty mindless action.
