Summary: One Word--Horrendous
Review: I can confidently say this is the worst movie I have ever seen. It is the only movie I have actually walked out of in the theatre it was so awful. I like almost any type of movie, but this had no redeeming factors at all. A good cast was really wasted. Let's put it this way, I'd rather sit through "Beloved" (the second worse movie of all time) again than have to endure 5 minutes of this turkey.

Summary: a weird set of super heroes!

Summary: Critics hated it, I loved it!

Summary: 1 of the The best movies in a long time!
Review: This movie was one of the greatest. Coolest, get to the point movies I have seen in a Looooooong time! The story was great, and it didn't stray, like "Wild Wild West" It had great effects, and acting. I recommend this for any "good movie" buff.It is totaly appropriate for children, very little "graphic" violence. Not any more than Power rangers. A family fun movie!

Summary: We fight crime...call it what you will...
Review: A true masterpiece of comic book comedy. From Captain Amazing's preoccupation with pleasing his sponsors to the amazingly silly set of super powers possessed by each of the main characters, this movie delivers one classic line after another - all with a completely straight face. Destined to be a cult classic.

Summary: Enjoyable film and good DVD content
Review: If you grew up, like I did, marvelling at the exploits of Batman, Robin, Superman and the like, then you will get the inside jokes in Mystery Men. These superheroes, however, make Superman seem a little stodgy.

Quirky characters who really believe that their "superpowers" (wielding a mean shovel, flinging forks, channeling rage, passing gas, being invisible when no one is looking, and tossing a bowling ball that holds special family siginificance) can save good from evil, Tim Burtonesque sets, and last, but not least, Greg Kinnear, make this a movie that is better than the premise might imply.

The DVD itself is a nice package. The anamorphic widescreen video transfer has color that is vibrant and clear, even though most of the scenes are darkly lit. The soundtrack is excellent, with fairly aggressive use of the surround speakers and subwoofer in many scenes.

If you are in the mood for something different and you are willing to give the film a chance, you might just be surprised by how much you like Mystery Men.

Summary: YUCK
Review: imagine _plan 9 from outer space_... ...except far less funny... ...with a trenemdously lower budget...

...in color.

*shhhhuuuuudddddddddddddddder*

this is absolutely amongst the WORST movies i've ever seen. the cast was interesting, but, unfortunately, this movie had no saving grace. i believe that _mystery men_ made me lose all remaining faith i had in humanity.

it would be cruel and unusual to suggest this or watch it oneself, so i won't.

Summary: Batman is NOT home...
Review: It was funny. That's all - it was hysterically funny. A nice take on the Dark Horse series. If you're looking for Batman or Superman, don't bother. But... for a good time, you can call these guys. Greg Kinnear provided one of his best performances, and Macy was the perfect... shoveller. Saw it, loved it...I laughed, and then I laughed some more.

Summary: I can't believe they would do THAT to a superhero!
Review: I'm puzzled by the polarization of this movie. Lots of 5-stars, and lots of 1-stars, with very little in between. I found it something perfectly watchable and enjoyable. The interplay between the characters was good and well done. A director with some actual movie experience might have done a bit better, though.

I think to give it 5-stars is insulting to truly great movies, but I can understand it not being everybody's cup of tea. It's fun. Rent it and enjoy it.
