Summary: HOLY CLASSIC!
Review: It took 35 years, but the wait was worth it. The film looks great on DVD and the extras are fantastic. The audio commentary by Adam West and Burt ward is amusing. The featurette on the Batmobile could have been a bit longer, however the rest of the extras make up for that. BUY IT!

Summary: SCHMIDLAPP
Review: With the release of BATMAN THE MOVIE on DVD - it easily puts to shame all other releases of any other BATMAN movies on the market (save for BATMAN BEYOND: RETURN OF THE JOKER - a top notch and disturbing noir thriller with great extra's). A clear and clean widescreen transfer of the film with excellent color (everything is just plain snappy and fresh), coupled with solid sound and superior menu interfaces (featuring original vocals by Burt Ward and Adam West)this is a must for any fan of the BATMAN franchise. Highlights on this DVD release feature Adam West and Burt Ward commentary on their experiences and memeories of making both this movie and the series itself - while there are a series of lags and gaps in the commentary, this is a solid commentary overall and will please fans of the series easily (it's fun when Adam and Burt switch between calling themselves by their real names, and then slip into calling themselves Batman and Robin without warning). Perhaps the best feature of the disc is the tour of the BATMOBILE - a car which still has no equal, and still turns heads wherever it goes. The movie is still as goofy and wonderful as it ever was and at once betrays the time it was made, and yet still remains timeless... a feat only a handful movies can lay claim to. BATMAN - THE MOVIE is solid entertainment, fun and and a keeper.

Summary: A Great DVD Production-Long Live Batman
Review: This movie, it must be stated, is not the greatest Batman movie ever made, but it may be the most fun. It is a great buy for us late thirty - early forty something kids who grew up as Batman fanatics.

The DVD includes a great feature of interviews with Adam West and Bert Ward. A tour on the creation of the Batmobile which is an absolute for anyone who wished the car was theirs. The production for these features is outstanding and fun!

The still gallery is great and the movie, well,it is Batman in his most campy days. I have always preferred the "darker" Batman, but must admit, a kid in me wants an innocent Batman beating up the bad guys. Zap! Pow! Bam!

Summary: IRRESISTIBLE
Review: HAVING WATCHED THE T.V. SHOW AS A CHILD (AND ALREADY HAVING THIS FILM ON VHS), HOW COULD I RESIST NOT BUYING THIS DVD? SURE IT'S CAMPY AND CHEESY. SO WHAT? WHERE ELSE CAN YOU SEE MOST OF THE BAT-GIZMOS AND 4 MAJOR VILLIANS IN 105 MINUTES? THE DYNAMIC DUO TOOL AROUND GOTHAM CITY IN THE BATMOBILE, THE BATCYCLE, THE BATCOPTER, AND THE BATBOAT WHILE TRYING TO THWART THE CATWOMAN, THE JOKER, THE RIDDLER, AND THE PENGUIN. CESAR ROMERO IS QUITE A SIGHT WITH HIS MUSTACHE COVERED BY HIS WHITE MAKE-UP. THIS MOVIE WILL NEVER BE CONFUSED WITH GREAT ART BUT IT MIGHT BRING BACK SOME CHERISHED CHILDHOOD MEMORIES. TO THE BATPOLES !!!

Summary: Takes Me back to my best days.
Review: As a little boy I used to watch it with my grandfather. Im still here, Batman is back, and in my heart my grandfather lives on. I love you Pop's! I'm now watching it with my little boy.

Summary: As camp as a row of tents, but tell me it's not a classic..!
Review: This movie certainly lacked the tension and punch of the TV series, but I guess it had to be made to capitalise on the success of the series. Adam and Bert (your standard tough guy names..?)were for me, better off doing 1/2 hour stints of crimefighting. Imagine trying to take on the Joker, Riddler, Catwoman and the Penguin all in one go..? Not an easy task. Speaking of the TV series, can anyone tell me if it is available on VHS (video)..? I am desperate to get some of these classic episodes on tape but have had no luck finding them..? I'm throwing my batarang out there for any bat-information on the TV series on video. Hope someone can assist me.

Summary: BATMAN 1966
Review: Having Batman on DVD is a real treat for me. I know your supposed to give only 5 stars, but I give this DVD 10. Burt, and Adam get a 10 also, which gives this DVD a 20. The insight from Mr. West, and Mr. Ward is suprisingly hillarious. I love the way they describe the Shark scene, and "my favorite" the Bomb scene. In my opinion this is the DVD suprise of the year. If you love Comic Books, Super Heroes, and Camp. You'll enjoy this movie, and make sure you watch it with the commentary by Adam, and Burt, this is a must. The other extras are great too, the George Barris Batmobile tribute, the photo stills gallery, and personal Adam West photo stills gallery, and the Theatrical Trailer too. The color in this movie puts the modern Batman movies too shame. This movie is just plain funny, and enjoyable. Almost all of the todays movies have the same thing in every one, Bad Language, Violence, and everything else. If your tired of all that, and would like a good laugh, and want a change, than order this movie. I only have one question. When will the entire series be released on DVD? One Hint: "THE BEST IS YET TO COME"

Summary: IT doesn't work on a PS2!
Review: I've tried 3 different discs, but this movie does not work on my playstation 2. Has anyone else had this problem?

Summary: FOX DOES RIGHT BY THE BAT!
Review: A stunning transfer and extras package by Fox that shames the shoddy barebones treatment Warner has given the film franchise. This was clearly put together by people with great affection for the source material, and it was an absolute masterstroke to sign West and Ward up for a commentary track! Given the excellence of this disc, this film and its tv equivalent may finally get their due as the brilliant satire its creators intended.

Summary: Holy Flashback! This is one GREAT DVD!
Review: GREAT movie AND a GREAT DVD! Very good picture quality, great digital sound (but 2.0 surround, not 5.1), lots of fantastic extras, and a hilarious movie! HIGHLY recommended!
