Summary: About Pirates and Happy Thoughts...
Review: Many grown-ups have critisized this movie. I say they're PIRATES! This movie was as magical the 10th time I saw it as it was the first. It's all about being a kid and having an imagination and playing games and making the rules up as you go. If you don't get it, the child in you has died. I will watch this glorious testament to youth again and so will my kids.

Summary: We LOVED this movie!!!
Review: My kids (age 4 & 7) and I LOVED this movie! I rented it for the first time last year in the late winter, and we were all so enthralled by it that the kids begged me to do HOOK for Halloween--so we did! My son (then 3) was Peter, my daughter (then 6) was Tinkerbell, and I got to play Hook! We had a blast! And the best part was that people actually recognized us from the movie! I can't wait for its re-release--the suspense is killing us!! Rent it today and watch it with your kids--you'll love it!!!

Summary: Over long and silly fantasy
Review: One of Steven Spielberg's great flaws in that once he discovers a film mould, he capitalises on it again and again... and again. "Saving Private Ryan" was in the over used "Schlindler's List" mould of "lets show the world the pain and suffering that this group of people went through". Too many of his movie's are similar to one another. "Hook" goes into the "kiddies' fantasy" mould that used brilliantly in "E.T." but is wearing a little thin now. The premise is highly unorginal: nasty adult the child within him and comes good. That concept has been done to death. The script is juvenile and offers little joy and the whole thing is far too long and takes forever to even get started. The sets and SFX are impressive, as you would expect from a Spielberg flick, Hoffman's Captain Hook, is a joy to behong and there are a few good moments to savour. Apart from that there is little else to enjoy before you start falling asleep. Maybe its about time Spielberg himself started to grow up.

Summary: Never Never Land in the 1990's
Review: My African American and Native American sons are hooked on Peter Pan. They wear their Pan and Hook costumes almost every day, fly a pirate flag over their beds and play with toy pirate ships. They love this version of Hook because the lost boys look their friends (unlike the all white boys and racist portrayal of Indians in the Disney cartoon). I disagree that ethnic diversity is "politically correct" or "contrived and cheapening". Ethnic diversity simply reflects the reality of our lives. When I discovered that Hook was out-of-print I found a copy on ebay.com

Summary: Bangarang!
Review: This movie was GREAT fun. Our children, from 4 to 17, love it. My wife and I both love it. It's got it all - swashbuckling, humor, romance, and more. A great tale, updated (which some might find disturbing), but one which kids of today can immediately identify with and see a meaning in. And, as others have noted, so can the adults. . .

HIGHLY Recommended for all ages - if they care to have a good time, that is!

Summary: Watch Out.....You'll Get Hooked!
Review: This isnt just a fairy-tale. The movie hits soft spots in todays families too. Peter Banning is an executive father who dos'nt seem to have time with for wife, daughter or son. His main concern seems to be with money and what security it provides. His family, on the other hand, just want him to love them and to be with them. Everything comes together after an unbelieving Peter is taken to Never-Never land to find his captured children. The Lost Boys, and Tinkerbell teach Peter how to find himself, his childhood, and all the love he fought to hide. Captain Hook is no match for the NEW Peter Pan that emerges, henceforth, and the children are saved.

The moral of the movie is in the last scene where Peter takes his new-found young at heart attitude and gives it to his family.

One of my favorite movies of all time! I almost know it by heart!

Summary: I loved it right along with my children!
Review: My son, age 3, is obsessed with Peter Pan. Fighting Captain Hook is his lifelong dream. I support his fantasy by providing books, toys, dolls, videos, anything that can be an outlet for the creativity that occurs at this age. When he first saw Hook, he was "hooked". I have been renting it at the video store, monthly. I am trying to find a copy to purchase, and have been unsuccessful. Anyone out there have a copy???!!!

Summary: After seeing this wonderful adaption, I felt 6 again.
Review: Kudos, great special effects and an even better twist on the life-long favorite. Hoffman and Williams and the entire cast are outstanding.
