Summary: Better than most comic book films
Review: As comic book movies go... you have the elite films, the groundbreaking ones (i.e. Donner's Superman, Burton's Batman, Raimi's Spider-Man), the solid ones (i.e. Del Toro's Blade 2, X2), the average ones (i.e. Blade, X-Men, Dardevil), and the crap (i.e. LXG). Hulk falls in some where between solid and average. But I give it more of a solid score for the ballsyness that Ang Lee demonstrates in his unique film style and seriousness with which he handles Bruce Banner's personal demons. You can debate all you want about the CGI effects, which I feel are hit or miss...exceptional in parts, particulary the dimly lit scenes, and somewhat cartoony at other parts. But the acting is solid, and the action scenes, particularly the desert chase, are top notch. This is a comic film that tries hard to stay close to the source material, but may sometimes take itself too seriously. But I must applaud Ang Lee for taking on a project that is much bigger than the big ole green goliath himself.

Summary: Have you read the comics?
Review: I thought it was a good movie because I understand how much of a task it was to bring the hulk to life. Your average movie buff doesn't really understand the time consuming process of 3D modeling, texturing, and animation.
Also, refering to the review a few up about how could the hulk could jump around like that, well the hulk can jump 100ft in the air. Just read the comics. He jumps over 100ft in the air and he picks up items that are bigger than tanks. Which I think is the whole problem. People are watching this movie with tv series in mind and not what the character is in which marvel intended.

Summary: HULK REVIEW
Review: I give Hulk three stars because of a couple of reasons. First, I'll explain what I liked about this movie. The plot was great. I appreciated the diligence and hard work that the producers of this movie put in to make this Marvel Comic character come to life. Secondly, I thought that the layout of the sets were very artistic. (Hey! Sometimes, it's the smaller things that count, right?) Thirdly, I thought the actors did a great job portraying the characters. Fourth, their intention of making a C.G. Hulk payed off really well. Not only was he green (a little humor there) but he looked rather realistic. It's amazing how far technology has gone. Now, I will address what I didn't like about the movie. I actually only have two, as a matter of fact. I thought more transformations were needed throughout this movie. People go to a "Hulk" movie to see Hulk, not David Banner. Secondly, I think the producers overdid his abilities. EXAMPLE: The scene in the canyon with him bouncing off the canyon walls and then "flying" 100 feet through the air into a pile of rocks. EXAMPLE: The fact that he could jump up and grasp onto a flying helicopter. EXAMPLE: The fact that he could pick a tank up and hurl it 1,000 feet away. But other than that, I thought the movie was good and I give it three stars.

Summary: Heartfelt
Review: The critics knocked it but it still did well in the theaters. You just have to sympathize with the poor Hulk. This movie gets this point across. The effects are great without the character being in the shadows.

Summary: Gorgeous movie, crappy ending
Review: Visually, this movie was stunning. I also thought the directing was pretty good. I loved the action scenes (wanted more!!), especially the scenes where he is ripping apart tanks and running across the desert. Very cool!!

The storyline was fantastic and I was really enjoying the movie, but then the end came. And it was bad. Half the people I know who saw this movie didn't understand what happened at the end and neither do I. Is it some reference from the comic book? What the heck is up with the blobby cloud that is supposedly his dad? I don't have a clue! A better explanation of the last 20-30 minutes of the movie would have made it a LOT better in my eyes. I don't like a movie that I can't understand what is going on.

Summary: The eye is the mirror of the Soul
Review: I have always been a fan of Hulk since my childhood , i loved the original
TV series plus the comics , and the photo of the original Hulk
was always lingering in my mind , and so it was naturally to be very excited
when i have heard the pre news about the Hulk's movie being in pre production
, I have waited for the official trailer to appear and after i have seen
it i begun to worry about the quality of the CGI creature , and then the
movie was released and i have been overwhelmed by the mixed reviews both
from Critics and the Audience , which resulted in my enthuasism for the movie
a less hotter till i decided to give the movie a visit .
With the first moments of the movie i have been totally hooked by the awesome
credits rolling and the fast pace of the first fifteen minuets , while we
watch the complicated story while unleashing and forming , the story about
the biotechnology scientist Bruce (Eric Bana) who is teaming with his ex
love interest Betty (Jeniffer Connelly) on a scientific project , but Bruce's
past is shady and full of mysteries , his parents has been dead for long
time since he was a kid ( or that what he thinks so) and he is having strange
nightmares , one day he is exposed to Gamma radiations by accident and this
accident unleashes the furious power within him , and the arrival of the
mysterious late shift worker in the lab (Nick Nolte) means that his dark
past's secrets is about to be unfolded , but he has to face them ,discover

his true origin and learns to control his rage .

Ang lee has done a very great job in this movie , he is a director which
i call is a (poetic director) , that means directing his movies with poetic
vision which enhances his view , and adds more haunting sense to the story
and to the movie itself , you can't help but admiring his complicated techniques
including the usage of multiple views to give the Audience the feeling of
the comics , also he tried to balance between the commercial needs of the
summer movies , the requirements of the fans and his solid rules as a director
with a solid vision .

The casting was simply perfect , i remember when i first heard about casting
Eric Bana as the Hulk i was worried about his portraying for the superhero
, but actually he is very brilliant actor , he really was very convincing
in the rage moments which made you feel he is really suffering , and for
Jeniffer Connelly all i can say that she is cute as usual and very emotional
actor which gave the movie a sense of tenderness which worked as a contradiction
for the ultimate roughness of The Hulk , for Nick Nolte he really surprised
me with his performance and he sat a new rules for this kind of roles ( i
will not reveal it here).

So what actually went wrong with this movie? we all know that he suffered
a very large drop in the second week of it's box office's run , i think
that was simply because this movie is not a multiplexes crowds pleaser ,
Ang Lee directed this movie with a very brilliant approach to the SOUL of
the Hulk , because the Hulk character in general is not only about the green
giant smashing objects and roaring a scary scream , it's about the human
soul , and the continuing search for every man's true identity within himself
, those added a very deep meaning to the movie which was not convenient
for the summer's audience , he also focused on the eyes , because as they
say that the eye is the mirror of the soul , and in multiple shots we see
Bruce staring to himself in the Bathroom's mirror and we a reflection of
his true identity in the mirror , his true self which he is trying to discover
and learns how to control .

For me i had just minor problems with the movie , the plot actually is not
simply straightforward , it's inter complicated and unfolds itself during
the duration of the movie , but in the unfolding process there were some
loose ends that were not connected properly , also i found the CGI Effects
is satisfactory except for a few scenes (in the desert) which needed rendering
, and the last glitch i found is the almost unsatisfactory last 10 minuets
which needed some more work .

The Hulk is one of the best summer's blockbusters to come in the past few
years , it's rare to see a blockbuster which respects the minds of it's
audience , and gives them something with a value , something with a Heart
and a Soul .

Summary: Pure Comic
Review: Let's put things in order shall we?

Ang Lee, is definately, one of the greatest directors of our time.

Forget Spider-Man, and a sold-out-to-the-film-companies Sam Raimi.
Forget X-Men, and the covered-up-under-adamantium-claws, anti-racist statement.
Forget DareDevil, that desperately needed a Frank Miller.

This is a comic book (a graphic novel, if you like) that Jumped on the screen, in it's pure form, intact, lacking nowhere, with the rage of the green angry man, to finally(!!!), entertain us, and then show the way of how an "adaptation", should be.

Summary: A good, Dark movie with incredilbly misleading advertising!
Review: If you bought into the all the hype that was put into promoting this film, Hulk is not a film for you to see. But if you can remove that terrible ad campaign from your mind, you'll find a really dark and interesting film that is brilliant in story-telling, cinematically wonderful, and probably the one Marvel movie that is truest to the comic book. Like all of the Marvel flicks (Spider-man, X-Men) it took a lot of liberties with the characters. But The Hulk stays true to the concept of the comic: a normal guy forced to deal with a side of himself that expresses immense anger. I watched the movie trailers and and saw all of the advertising and The Hulk was promoted to be a summer block-buster action flick. But it's not. It relies heavily upon story-telling and a lot of it takes you into the mind and trauma of Banner. As a director and editor I found the directing and editing to be awesome. A lot of scenes were cut to resemble a comic book page with several panels of action appearing at once for different characters. The transitions were really cool and I think George Lucas could learn a thing or two from watching them. And the acting was superb. Great film.

Summary: Don't Waste Your Time
Review: I am crestfallen. First, let me say this. I have been reading comics (mostly Marvel) since I was twelve. I liked Blade 1 & 2, I liked X-Men & Daredevil. X-Men 2 and Spiderman were awesome. So all in all I have been satisfied with Marvel's films for the past few years.
...Not only was HULK the worst of any Marvel Film I have ever seen (including the old Captain America and old Punisher), but I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say it was the worst movie I have ever seen in my entire life...<)(...)rst.
1.) It was boring and slow.
2.) Ang Lee tried to make it look like a comic with all these boxes and panels and stuff
3.) They should have called the movie "Close-Up of Nick Nolte's Face While He Talks Slowly"... opening June 20. That guy got more screen time than anybody.
4.) Close-Up's of lizards and trees, way too much of.....
5.) Not enough HULK smashing...way too much HULK jumping. I thought I was watching Jump-Man.
6.) Too much Nick Nolte...did I mention that?
7.) Betty Ross and Bruce Banner walking around moping and whining. It's characterization, I know. But this was overkill and it still didn't make them any more likable!
8.) No hidden "cool" things for comic fans. Like a name, place, or event reference. Well, maybe there was. But I was half asleep late into the movie.
9.) Not even the tiniest sense of humor or levity. I don't want (...) Shakespeare, I want the Hulk to smash things.
10.) The ending, all of it. Everything was dumb.

Now, I have never seen another Ang Lee movie, but this guy managed to make a movie about The Incredible Hulk boring...(...)
(...)
....Now there were two good things in the movie.

1.) San Elliot as General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross. He was awesome. He hated Banner and Hulk. Very good portrayal and true to the comic.
2.) The Hulk interacting with Betty Ross. The special effects looked good and made the Hulk have emotion. Too bad this only happened for 18 seconds out of a two and a half hour long movie. Which is a half hour longer than it should have been(...)
3.) This movie (...) hard.

(...). I also had to go get some Hulk back issues to assure myself it was Ang Lee who (...), and not the Hulk.

Summary: Needed action
Review: When I heard they were going to make a film about the Hulk I got excited cause I thought it was going to be one hell of a thrill ride. Boy was I wrong, the graphics were good but there wasn't enough action. If you are going to make a film about the hulk you gotta make sure there is enough action and less talk. That's why I liked the comics, because they were quick and had a lot of action. This film was like an independent film with a great big monster on it. Ang Lee may be a talented director but he should stick to films like crouching tiger hidden dragon , and he should stay away from comic book movies in the future.
