Summary: A Comic Movie Which Set A Standard
Review: Watching this movie is certainly a treat. Its based upon the Marvel comic character, but this film is a great blend of comic book heroism and pure 100% action.

Snipes plays Blade, a vampire hunter who is half vampire himself. He takes it upon himself to wage war against the vampire Deacon Frost (Dorf). The characters are great and Dorf's portrayal of Frost makes his character one of the greatist movie villians of all time.

So, the movie is great, but how is the DVD? In one word: Great! Both the picture and sound quality are top notch. There are also a ton of special features including a very interesting commentary track with Snipes, the screenwriter, and the director.

Fans of comic movies, action movies, and horror should give this disc a watch. Its a ton of fun!

Summary: The movie could have taken place in Russia
Review: I really was anxious that this film should have taken place in in the country of Russia. I thought the picture of Blade being in Russia talking to that vampire before they dueled was I thought very interesting. The movie has alot of action, and fight scenes. The acting is high quality on this picture. This first part to Blade does not state where they are at all. They are just living in this chaotic world where people are hungry for power, burglary etc. And Blade's job is to kill the vampires before they take over the Earth. It is a picture well done. Highly recommended to all sci fi fans, horror movie fans, etc.

Summary: Nice Vampire/Martial Arts Fusion - Excellent DVD Extras
Review: This film retains only the core elements of the Blade who first appeared in Marvel Comic's "The Tomb of Dracula," and shows the influence of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Martial Arts approach to killing the undead. The opening sequence, a vampire infested rave at which sprinklers shower the crowd and their unsuspecting prey with blood at which the hero makes a quick and violent entrance is probably the best scene in the film. Wesley Snipes takes the title role seriously, and on that score does better than all the Batman we've had in recent years. The ending screams franchise, so we shall see. The DVD Extras are worth the additional star, what with four featurettes (including an alternative ending), commentary by basically everyone (except the director), and other goodies. If you want to see this movie for the first time-or you want to check it out again-DVD is definitely the way to go.

Summary: Blade
Review: The movie Blade, starring Wesley Snipes and Stephen Dorff, was a wonderful story of a half human, half vampire(Wesley Snipes), who would go out and hunt all the vampires. He was trying to kill the vampire that had sucked from his mother and basically made him what he was. Deacan Frost(Stephen Dorff) was, as you could say, a ruthless vampire who wanted to take over the vampire world and make it his own. Blade therefore is always after him. In the ultimate fight of good and evil, Snipes is forced to go one on one with Dorff to protect both worlds.

This is a wonderful movie because it shows how the worlds of good and evil can collide and make a big boom without making the movie too simple but with out all the over exaggeration that it could have had. So, therefore, even with all the violence, though it was not that violent, you got the point that the major fight of the century was going on and that just made it really good in my opinion.

If this movie could have been better, which I don't think it could have really been, the woman that falls into his world could have at least been in the ever after of the outcome.

Summary: Great Graphics and intensity
Review: The other reviews for this movie make me feel bad I don't have a DVD player. But in other words, this was a good movie with great fight scenes and killer intensity. The sword fight at the end is the best, with the sparks flying and the muscles on snipes are about to explode. That would have been disgusting. The beginning was a little boring until the fight scene with all the vampires, and never got boring again. Good film.

Summary: Wonderful portrayl of a Legendary character
Review: I don't always believe movies honor the characters upon which they are based upon. However, in Blade the director and writer did an exceptional job. Wesley Snipes was the perfect legendary half-vampire, half-human, Blade. The special effects were very well done as well as the quality of acting in the film. While I like the vampire as the narrator or star, this movie was a terrific blend. It showed the human and vampire perspective on things instead of one way or the other. The ending was a marvelous opening for the upcoming sequel.

Summary: Better than I thought
Review: I didn't really think that Blade was going to be a very good film. Most superhero movies are fairly stupid but Blade is one of the few exceptions.

What really stands out about Blade are the stylistic action sequences that are amazing. Snipes and Dorf are also worth mentioning for their excellent jobs in their roles.
