Summary: Fantastic Xmen
Review: This movie was incredible. I have been a fan of Xmen for many years and am so happy to see it really come to life. The casting was perfect. The actors were so great for their roles and interacted just as I would have expected them to do. I loved the quips of humor throughout, especially the "yellow spandex" comments. Contrary to a few of the postings here, the movie was fantastic. I did miss Gambit, but I'm certain he will be seen in the sequel! All in all, I urge everyone to see this movie, but you should probably buy advance tickets if the sellouts here are anything to judge by!

Summary: Finally, a comic-to-movie adaption done right!
Review: I loved X-Men when I was little, however as I got older I forgot about it. A few days ago I saw this movie and now I'm digging through my closet to find my old X-Men comics and toys.

This film was great! Bryan Singer has made an excellent action film that, while there is an abundace of action, focuses on the characters. Hugh Jackman was an outstanding choice as Wolverine and portrayed the character wonderfully. Everytime the sound of his claws being extracted echoed through the theatre it made you want to get up and cheer! And the dialogue between the characters (especially between Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen) was well done. Also the humour made me laugh all the way home.

This is definately Wolverine's film. It centres on him (and Rogue) with the rest of the X-Men acting as filler material. So if you are a Wolverine fan, you will really enjoy this movie.

However, not all of the plot points were fully developed... which can be a good thing because that leaves room for the sequel(s) :D I can't wait until the next films explore Wolverine and Sabertooth's past (which I felt was undermined in this film).

But when it is all said and done. When all the smoke has cleared. When all the dust has settled, X-Men finally delivers the summer movie experience audiences have been craving.

Summary: This movie is AWESOME!
Review: I have just returned from the Movie Theater after seeing X-men. I came to this site with one thought in mind - Man, I got to tell the world how incredible this movie was. X-men is very unique film about superhero mutants that must save the world from their evil mutant brothers. As the story unfolds it introduces you to many exotic characters with each one having a unique ability.

In the future many mutations rapidly change people and create beings that have supernatural powers. Because of their dangerous powers mutants are feared and become outcasts in the society. However, there is one place where they are welcome. The place is the school built by Professor Xavier, a powerful mutant capable of reading and controlling thoughts of other individuals. In his school many mutants are accepted into a friendly family which helps them to discover and develop their powers. In the movie we get aquatinted with the school primarily through the eyes of Wolverine, a tough mutant with "get out of my way or I'll kick your ... attitude". In my opinion, Wolverine is by far the coolest of all X-men. Among his unique characteristics are razor-sharp claws, extremely acute sense of smell, metal skeleton and ability to rapidly heal himself. As Wolverine said once, "I do not need medical attention." Ironically, the main villain of X-men, Magneto, could manipulate all metallic objects including Wolverine's skeleton. If it were not for other X-men Wolverine would certainly have a hard time fighting Magneto. It was good that Wolverine teamed up with other heroes. Together they showed just how dangerous a good teamwork can be.

On the whole X-men is not perfect but is one of the greatest movies I have ever seen. I am a big Sci-fi and action fan. I hate when movies have plot holes and many unrealistic events. I especially do not believe in movies that are based on comic books. But X-men is unlike any movie of its kind. It is very interesting, it has some great action sequences, it takes place in many beautiful locations and most important, its characters are very cool. For such a great movie I can forgive all the little mistakes in science or realism. X-men has a lot to offer, it is a great entertainment. Without a doubt this is MUST SEE movie!

Summary: Very Enjoyable!
Review: First of all, to those who call yourselves "die-hard fans" of the X-Men and are trashing this movie because of differences between the comic and the movie, keep in mind that it's a MOVIE. Comic books and the big screen are two extremely different mediums. I have kept up with the adventures of the X-Men for ten years and I think by now I would have a good idea of what would be appropriate on the big screen. While this movie is somewhat lacking in plot, especially the movtives of the Brotherhood, the characters themselves and the interactions they have with each other are what ultimately bring this entertaining flick to life. Its extremely difficult to cram decades of character development and backstories into a ninety minute flick, but I think that director Bryan Singer did a fine job given the massive responsibility. Was it an excellent film? No. Was it a fun character study? Sure! And isn't that what is at the core of the X-Men in the first place?

Keep that in mind when you are criticizing the length of Wolverine's claws.

Summary: X-MEN Chapter 1
Review: This movie was very exciting, (tha bomb). As for a X-Men fan I had an idea of what to expect and I was surprised. The action was great, but there were a few flaws that only a fan who has watched and read the comics for a decade and a half would know of. I am very thrilled with this movie and I cannot wait until part two comes out. This will be a series that all ages will remember. I will recommend that everyone go and see this movie, it shows what you can accomplish when you work together as a team. All the special effects were astonishing and made a almost perfect movie version of one the best action comics books ever evolved. I know Stan Lee is very proud.

Respectfully, Royce

Summary: X-Men is X-cellent! 4 1/2 out of 5
Review: Let me start off by saying that X-Men was great. It lived up to all of my X-pectations and in many ways even surpassed them. The characters were all there (at least most of them), the casting was perfect (THANK GOD Dougrey Scott-or what ever his name is-didn't play Wolverine), and it even had a stable plot! The only problem was the music (which is only good at certain parts). I can't wait for the (at least) two seqeuls! And lets pray they get composer Danny Elfman.

Review: I have seen the movie twice in the theater, and the DVD will be just as good. I can't wait till it comes out.

Summary: A Faithful Adaptation of the Marvel Comic
Review: I have just recently seen the X-men film, and I must say that I was impressed with the overall production. The film is quite faithful to the spirit of the comic books, and even though I have not read an X-men comic book in years, I'm sure the fans will be happy with this cinematic adaptation. Unlike the Batman films, which seemed to get campier, sillier, and more over-the-top with each passing film, "X-men" has a rather serious tone to it. It even starts out in a German concentration camp (so don't get to the theater late or you will think you've wandered into the wrong movie). The few humourous spots in the film don't detract from it in any way (unlike those afore-mentioned Batman films). In fact, one of my favorite amusing moments in the movie makes a rather strong argument for wearing seatbelts (you'll understand when you see the movie).

The film spends quite a lot of time on the characters of (fan-favorite) Wolverine as well as Rogue. And I'm happy that the film also attempts to develop these characters. Hugh Jackson is really perfect as Wolverine; he is destined to become a star, I believe. Some folks may think Anna Paquin is a strange choice to play Rogue, but she does quite an admirable job. As for the other X-men/Brotherhood of Mutants, Patrick Stewart *is* Professor X, and Ian McKellan provides a humanistic, almost tragic portrayal of Magneto. In fact, one thing I like about this film is the at-times ambiguous separation between "good guys" and "bad guys." We almost wish for Magneto to succeed in his plan at times.

And keep your eyes open for cameo appearances by future X-men, heh heh. If you miss them, then you're probably not a regular X-men comic book reader.

Anyways, I won't go into the plot. I'll leave that to the regular movie critics, who all too often reveal too much in their movie reviews anyhow. But suffice it to say that comic fans will be quite satisfied with this movie.

One more thought - the film is relatively short. I understand that it was originally 135 minutes but a number of character development scenes were cut to make the film more lean at barely 100 minutes. The film is fine as it is, but I would like to see the cut footage, perhaps on the DVD special edition that will inevitably be released this Christmas. (I hope someone from FOX is reading this!)

Summary: X-traordinary
Review: Yes! Finally, after all the years of anxiously waiting for this film, it is here and it is a huge success! Any true X-Men fan will love this movie, it does a terrific job of finding the core of 38 years of stories and characters and brings the X-World to life for all to enjoy. Newcomers will also like this movie, especially if you view this as one long prolouge to the bigger picture that will most definately follow in the sequels to come. The bigger picture is of course, bigotry, hate, fear, and those who stand against it.

Summary: Plain and Simply, It's A Great Movie
Review: I just saw this movie and I must say that it was great. Whether you are a huge fan of the Marvel Comics (like my cousin) or just watched the afternoon animated series (like me) or even if you didn't know what an X-Man was (like my sister) you will still walk away loving this movie.

What is really great about this movie is that it is appropriate for children. Sure it does have some cursing and a really funny part where Wolverine gives Cyclopes the "bird" but I'm sure that most kids old enough to understand the movie have already heard and seen worse than that.

For those that want to know what demographic I fall under, I am a 24 year old female.
