Summary: Much More than a simple Sci-Fi movie
Review: In my humble oppinion, The Matrix is one of the best flicks ever made and DVD only makes it better. I've already seen it 3 times, and could watch it another 10 without getting bored. - If you like well written stories, that will twist your brains, The Matrix is for you. - If you like amazing FX and genius camera shots, The Matrix is for you. - If you like oriental-style action scenes, The Matrix is for you.

Summary: THE MATRIX WILL STIR YOUR "INWARD PARTS"
Review: In my opinion, there are 4 kinds of movies and each gets a particular range of stars automatically by me, just by fitting in the category:

UNSTIMULATING................ 0-1 STAR

STIMULATING...................... 2-4 STARS

CONTEMPLATING............... 2-4 STARS

STIMULATING &

CONTEMPLATING............... 4-5 STARS

The Matrix gets 5 stars from me because it is the last and best type of catagory movie (stimulating and contemplating.) This type of movie is very rare and difficult to achieve. The Matrix 'achieves' to the Nth degree! The reason being: first, when a movie draws me in so deeply that I can step inside because it becomes a reality for me during viewing (everything else is obliterated) - 5 star movie; and secondly, if I want to change parts to make it even better and I wish during viewing that I could have had a voice in the concept and script- 5 star movie.

The behind the scenes footage only confirms the awesomeness of this movie. It has ground breaking special effects that will blow your mind. Furthermore, "People will be talking about The Matrix for the next 50 years, while other movies [released around the same time] will have been long forgotten." (Quoted by av.) The behind the scenes footage makes you respect all the hard work (mentally and physically) that went into this movie even more.

Truly a very appropriate, exceptional movie for the beginning of a new century! (See Isaiah 49:1b.)

Summary: Good for the Matrix Fan, GREAT for one with a home theatre.
Review: In my opinion, this movie could've been in black and white and I still would have bought it. If I had known I would have shelled out the $60 to get the collector's edition. But, I must say I was a little disappointed when I realized that I got the widescreen version because I'm only playing it on a 19" TV. But, I do say this: If you have one of those wide screen TVs, this is definitely worth it-and worth it if you have a bigger than 19" TV.

Summary: Bluntly, this movie rocked.
Review: In order to not give too much away, I'll have to be fairly vague about the movie. In a nutshell, though, it's good against evil, but with several twists. The plot is, to say the least, very good -- and the acting is just great. Mr. Smith is one of the coolest bad guys (including Darth Maul) that I've ever seen -- he's so deadpan, it's like he's Darth Friday or something. The fight scenes, for thems that likes, are just great. And *the* shoot 'em up scene beats, IMHO, Heat. Not by a lot, but Lordy -- I have to wonder how nobody actually got hurt. So: character devlopment rules, f/x rule, fight scenes rule, plot rules... what more is there to ask for? Five stars, definitely.

Summary: The Movie to Define the 90s
Review: IN the 1990s there is not a single better sci-fi movie. I can't wait for Matrix 2 and 3

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Outstanding
Review: In the begining God made the Earth. At the third day He created the Man. In the 20th century Man recreate God. In 1999 Larry Wachowski and Andy Wachowski create The Matrix. Do you want a different perspective of reality? See this one and think about life... Excelent production, great professionals and a variety of excelents actors made this movie real enough to buy and ask for more.

Summary: Amazing Parallels
Review: In the film the Matrix, there is an amazing amount of parallels between this film and the story of Jesus in the Bible. The most obvious is that Neo represents Jesus. There are many things that happen to Neo that are similar to events that happend to Jesus. The first is that when Neo is rescued from the Matrix and he is in a membrane filled with water, similar to the womb that a baby spends the first 9 months of its life in. The action of Neo breaking out and sliding down a tube into the 'real world' is similar to a baby being born, which represents the spiritual rebirth of a person when the accept Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour. Another event that parallels Jesus' training in the desert, being tempted by Satan is Neo's training against Morpheus in the kung-fu program, preparing the One to do His job. Two other events that parallel occurances in Jesus' life happen near the end of the film, where Neo is shot and killed but then resurrected by the love of Trinity, just as the Trinity's love brings Jesus back from the dead. The final one is right at the end of the movie, when Neo flies up into the air. This is similar to JEsus' ascension into Heaven, and the beginning of the new way of life for Christians. Other characters that parallel Bible characters are: Morpheus, who represents John the Baptist in that He is preparing the way for the One; Cypher, who, like Judas the betrayer, betrays the Saviour to the enemy; and the Oracle, who can represent any of the prophets from the Old Testament who foretold Jesus' coming. I think that anyone who enjoys this film, Christian or not, should read the gospels in the Bible just so they can see the amazing amount of similarities between the two very different stories.

Summary: Illussory Material World: the Matrix
Review: In the Matrix world, people live lives of virtual reality of materialism. In grealh reality, you are one of the generatorfs cell dreaming everything but having nothing material.
People are grown and when their bodies come to generate nothing e.g. die, are simply disposed of. It can be said that the management is perfectly rational and, may be some people would say; gWhy not?h, like Cypher did. After all, many people do not even know they live and die in the matrix world as something (not a human being) that the Matrix can use at its disposal. So, why should they not keep dozing in the virtual-material world?

Now, what I believe is that we are born to this irrational, unequal and can-be-very-violent world in order to make our souls better, lighter and shinier ones.
So, one question here is: can you discipline your soul in the Matrixfs virtual reality?

I believe the answer is gNoh.
That is why the gawakenedh should help people get themselves out of the Matrix and fight back against its invincible power, even though gawakeningh from the dream world of the Matrix means to re-born into the shabby and hopeless, thus, can-be-so-depressing real world.

The good news is that: if you realize that there is actually no material world around you, you can release yourself from the physical rules of the Matrix world and can change gvirtuallyh everything with your free-will and, therefore, can live in freedom in spiritual sense. In the film gthe Matrixh it is only gthe Oneh who can do that, but, I think, everyone may have the potential to be Neo.

Release yourself from the Matrix of your bodily limitations. Be Neo. Be free. Then all sufferings and agony will be gone ferever.
