Review: Having seen this movie several hundred times, (and worn out four copies in the process) I can easily say it is one of the most influential films of our times. Direct, gritty,and very believeable. Mel Gibson is real, and driven. Vernon Welles gives an unstoppable performance as the psychotic Wez. And the rest of the cast just add to the credibility of the film. Crossing several genras and not missing a beat, the film has something for everyone. The costumes, the sets, the effects are all first class - and show you that good film making doesn't need an oversized budget. The acting is of the highest quality, and lines are not wasted. This is one film that should be included in every video collection!

Review: This is without doubt the best action movie ever made. The cinematography, acting, and script are absolutly amazing. The casting is wonderful. This movie demonstrates the raw/hungry acting power of a young Mel Gibson. If you want a movie in your collection that is timeless... this is it. ALSO, THERE IS NOT A BETTER MOVIE FOR AN IN-HOME THEATER SYSTEM. I have a high-end home theater, and I can say that this movie (along with 1986's Top Gun) are the BEST movies to HEAR.

Summary: Great film and great looking on DVD
Review: The Road Warrior ranks as one of the great action films. Made before computer animation and huge special effects budgets, it shows that a good screenplay and imaginative directing are more important than whiz-bang effects. The action sequences are still some of the best ever filmed. DVD transfer was very good. This doesn't have the spectacular imagery of a Blade Runner or Alien(s), but you get a very sharp, clear picture of Max's wasteland world. Buy it, it's a keeper.

Review: How do you rate such a great movie.. this is the movie that started Mel Gibson's career. Mutany on the Bounty is another great early Gibson...Mad Max is also a great but Mad Max3 was crap. It was to American influenced to carry on the Mad Max name.

Review: Mad Max: American version w/ dubbed USA accents (you'll notice it) about a world that's on its last civilized leg and a man who loses all that he loves-his friend (goose) and his family.
