Summary: Casts a Spell on Adults and Children Alike!
Review: Wonderfully engaging movie, which establishes three central characters that you'll fall in love with almost immediately and throws them into all the action, adventure, and magical mischeif you can stand! The plot was surprisingly intelligent and interesting, and the special effects are brilliant without taking away from the believability of the film. The cast is perfect, the acting is unbelievably great, and the story is brilliant. This is a magical tale of three first-year students at Hogwart's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, who get themselves into some trouble but have a great adventure in getting back out again. I loved every second of this movie, and couldn't wait to see the second (which was every bit as good). Do yourself a favor, especially if you are like I was and think that you couldn't possibly enjoy Harry Potter (a child's entertainment *humpf*), and check it out. I promise you will LOVE it! It's the magic of Lord of the Rings mixed with the adventure of Indiana Jones. Who could ask for more??

Summary: See you in Potions class ...
Review: Despite a few shortcomings, I have to say that this is a good adaptation of an excellent book. If nothing else, watch the scenes with Alan Rickman as Professor Snape; you won't be disappointed.

Summary: Could Have Been Better
Review: I was one of the people who said that they would never read the Harry Potter books, but I was talked into at least trying the book, and actually I have fallen in love with them, but when I tried the movie after I had read the book, it was a terrible disappointment. As is the case with most movie versions of books. They left out the best parts of the book. The acting was okay...good for the age of the kids and the fact that some had never acted professionally before this movie. I was just very disappointed though because they just skipped major parts of the book that would have worked very well in the movie. I did give it three stars though because it was kind of entertaining, but could have been much better.

Summary: Good movie, but does not stand up to Chamber of Secrets
Review: I have always been a fantasy fanatic, playing RPGs(such as Dungeons and Dragons) and reading books such as The Lord of the Rings. Somehow I was not as crazy about Harry Potter, thinkning it to be more of a child's rather than an adult's fantasy story. That all changed when I watched the Sorcerer's Stone. Now I am an avid Harry Potter fan.
The suspensefulness of the movie was good. Nevertheless, aside from the climax, the film definitely could have had a little more action. Anyone who watched this film should watch the Chamber of Secrets(which is in theatres while this review is being written). Chamber of Secrets was much better, and unquestionably is a Five Star movie.

Summary: Intelligent Fantasy for a New Age
Review: Harry Potter on DVD brings the excitement home. It makes the perfect gift for children and adults alike. Harry Potter is intelligent reading and viewing, guaranteed to keep the children enthralled for hours and he's a good role model, not like the slaughterhouse-style anime which is popular these days.

The DVD provides lots of extras and combined with reading the books with it, it comes across well. There's enough action and story to keep the adults interested as well. Once you think the story is told, another twist comes up. Excellent movie (and by the way, The Chamber of Secrets -in Theaters now- was/is just as good.)

Combined with the books, the tale turns out beautifully on and off screen.

Summary: An AWESOME movie!!!
Review: This movie is sooooooooo good!!! I would recomind it to anyone who loves the world of Harry Potter. I saw this movie 3 times when it was in the theaters. Then we got it on DVD and I've seen it at least 12 more times after that. This movie is awesome, or at least I think so.

Summary: Did the writers even read the book?
Review: There are so many differences between the movie and book that the movie doesn't follow the book. It would be nice if some of the film followed the storyline of the book. They changed the book around so much that I'm not even sure that the movie is based on the same book I read so many times and enjoyed reading. The graphics were wonderfull but it doesn't diminish the fact that they couldn't bother to follow the book and the actions of the characters involved.

Summary: yeah
Review: Yeah, when I was watching this movie I fell asleep, I woke up 10 minutes later and fell asleep again and just to think that before watching this movie I had a really good night sleep, I guess with this movie it doesn't matter. Works better than a sleeping pills, don't watch it more than once, danger of not waking up. No wonder they included toy with the movie, so you won't get bored watching it, at least something exiting. The reason I gave this movie 2 stars is because when I fell asleep I had a nice erotic dream...

Summary: I give the actual MOVIE 5 stars, I give the DVD 4.
Review: I've already written a review for the movie, and it was GREAT. However, the DVD has some unbelievably lame extras that make you literally gag. Like the potions thing where you have to choose the right combination of potions to get to the sorcerer's stone. It seems like they added all these extras just to give more bulk to the DVD. However, the cast/director interviews were very interesting.

Summary: Excellent movie for kids and familly!
Review: As I've read all of J.K Rowling's books, I found the first one was the most exciting by far. After I've watched the movie, I found that it looks just about exactly the same as the book. I really liked this movie and I would recommend it to any kid who is a Harry Potter fan and liked to read books on Fantasies.
