Summary: THE GREATEST MOVIE OF ALL TIME!!!
Review: Harry potter the movie was the best! The movie isnt scary but it is very intense so I would recomend it to anyone over 7 years old! I would also recomend that you read the book first because I read the books and it seemed to make more sense to me! Oh and if you want to know their accents were charming! Even if you dont like the books you would like the movie because the movie is kind of different from the book in a few areas! Harry potter the movie is very graphic!

Summary: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone - the movie
Review: I took my almost 5 year old son to see it, and we both loved it. Having read the book a few times, it was somewhat disappointing to have a lot cut out of the movie, but it would have been much longer had it all been included! At times, I felt rushed through the movie, but it was funny, endearing, scary at times for my son, and well worth the wait!

Summary: Harry Potter
Review: This movie was nothing like I had expected,it was better than what I thought it would be.It's almost exactly like the book, except they left out some stuff like in the book after the giant chess game Harmione goes with Harry to the next room and there are seven bottles filled with potions on a table.Three bottles are poison, one goes through the purple fire(back),one goes through the black fire(forward),and two are wine. But in the movie after the giant chess game Harmione stays with Ron.They left out the room with the potions in it.But it was still the best movie I saw all year.

Summary: Simply Amazing!!! The ¿Star Wars¿ of Children¿s Movies
Review: Normally movies based on books are pale imitations of their paper counterparts. Few movies are exceptions to this rule. Jurassic Park was one of them. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is another one.

For those who have not read the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone the movie is an adaptation of T.K Rowling's best-selling children's fantasy book and it follows the adventures of a mistreated young boy who lives with his aunt, uncle and cousin whose life changes when discovers his true, mystical heritage and the adventures that follow as he battles the forces of evil while learning to control his great powers at the mysterious Hogwart's school of witches and wizards.

The specials effects in this movie are right up there with that of Star Wars. You'll marvel at the castles, magic spells (the invisible cloak) and other medieval type characters like the Centaur, the three-headed dog, the Troll, the Unicorn and other witches and wizards and all the other ULTRA-COOL things in the movie.

Best Scenes of the Movie: The two best scenes in this film that REALLY sell the movie are the Quidditch Game scene (right up their, if not BEYOND, the Pod-Racer scene in Phantom Menance) and the life-sized Wizard's Chess scene at the end of the movie.

As a book translation, this movie is DEAD ON TARGET with the book. No plot devices, etc were changed. However, it is not a complete translation. A lot of the "filler" material from the book was left out which is just as well. The movie runs a little long at about 2 ½ hours, but it is 2 ½ hours of perhaps the best movie you'll ever see or have seen all year.

Clearly, this is the best movie I have seen all year long, and that says a lot!!! Appropriate for ALL ages, you'll love this movie if you are an adult watching it with your children or if you are a couple on a date or if you're a group of friends cruising the night away.

There is a very good reason why the Harry Potter books have been the rage for the past few years and seeing it play out on the big screen just reinforces what everyone has been hyping about all along.

Summary: A teriffic movie
Review: The first Harry Potter movie was written so wonderful. It was scary, with neat magic as well as outstanding action. This was also a funny movie at most every part. I don't know my favorite part. They were all so good. So if you love Harry Potter, you'll love this movie.

Summary: Too many characters, plenty of plot, not enough depth
Review: I am a Harry Potter fan. I've read all of the books twice. I also recently saw the movie. Quite frankly I was disapointed with the script.Sure, thr idea was amazing. Hogwarts came to life with moving paintings or stairs. Quidditch is the new all time sport. And the effects were amazing too!The story might have had it's differences from the book, but you could expect that anyway.

What I found was that they introduce characters without any emotions. It's like we were introduced to a world of robots.WILL-ON-LY-ACT-IF-GET-PAID. Why can't Harry cry when he sees his family for the first time in the mirror? Why can't Percy be more of a (...) or Fred and George more destructive? Why is Dumbledore missing that sparkle in his eye?Why can't we really see the shock on Harry's face when he finds out he's a wizard and gets introduced to this amazing world that's all his? Away from the Dursleys... A happier life. Wouldn't that mean more to you if you were in that situation? A tear? Believing it's all a dream?

I personally think it's a little overrated. Maybe if the director, Chris Colombus, did take in consideration all my suggestions, it would make the movie very long. So what? It would be worth it. Most definately!!

Then again, maybe it's just me.
