Summary: Dynamic presentation.... lackluster direction
Review: Great visuals, stunning animation, but the plot felt muddled at times. It is interesting and takes risks in its chosen method of storytelling, but I was cringing at certain moments toward the later part of the film.

Summary: Visual Poetry
Review: The images, story and themes of this exquisite film are all top notch and I am delighted to have it in my collection. Or to put a more measured value on it: If I had to choose between the Ring trilogy and Mononoke, I prefer Mononoke. I loved the 3 Ring movies, but this is art. I think it is worth the price.

The sense of wonder you can get from this film is a lasting one. Anyone with an open mind and heart will enjoy it immensely and will continue to enjoy it with repeated viewings. I don't want to start describing it in any more detail, but the film is not for every taste so I'll just say, SEE THIS FILM if
* you're open to eastern traditions and ways of thinking.
* you're open to seeing a great film that doesn't fit into narrow confines of any genre.
* you're an adult who understands that good and evil exists in all of us.
* you're willing to look at greed and violence in thoughtful ways.

Summary: Akira was surpassed by this?!!
Review: After hearing all the praise this anime got, I finally saw it during spring break. I was angrily bored out of my mind. There were many problems to this anime. First off, Miyazaki's character designs don't belong in anime PG-13 or beyond. There's too much anti-human pro-nature garbage in this. So civilization is evil just because it kills animals and destroys trees for survival? I think not. There was too much superstition with all of the pig gods, wolf gods, and forest spirits. Wake up and smell the Irish whisky laiden coffee!! This is a science based society, not a superstition based one!! To top it off, Princess Mononoke herself. What's up her ass hating humans when she's human herself? I wish I was in the movie so I could murder that wolf harlot and teach others like her a lesson; don't mess with mankind!! If you want good anime, watch Akira (Streamline VHS) or Ninja Scroll. Akira had a deep plot, lots of violence, and a science based plot. Ninja Scroll has a great plot, lots of violence, and kick ass fighting. Don't watch Princess Mononoke, you're better off not being exposed to this hippy crap!! I thank daikel 999 and others for speaking out against this anime. Down with crappy anime!!

Summary: Akira was surpassed by this?!!
Review: After hearing how great this anime was, I saw it during spring break. I was angrily bored by this. I couldn't stand it for many reasons, one being the violence wasn't right, the severed limbs didn't gush out blood like what you would see in Akira or Ninja Scroll. The other being the morale of the story, no one is good or evil and we must respect nature. The characters didn't look right, Miyazaki's character design don't fit in an anime PG-13 or beyond. Lets not forget Princess Mononoke herself, I wished I was in that movie so I could strangle that wolf harlot!! Whats up her ass hating humans when she's human herself?!! Also, why was this movie full of wolf gods, pig gods, and forest spirits, what the hell is up with this superstitious crap?!! Enough with that garbage!! Wake up and smell the Irish whisky laiden coffee!! We live in a science based society, not a superstition based one!! I wished the people of Irontown killed that wolf worshiping slut!! Don't tell me that I'm uncultured, I know that Princess Mononoke doesn't look Japanese at all, she looks like an Indian. Why would an Indian be in Japan? Anyway, this anime was garbage and if you want to watch good anime, watch Akira (Streamline VHS) and Ninja Scroll. Akira actually had a deep plot, tons of violence, and a scientific view of things. Ninja Scroll had a great plot, lots of violence, and kick ass fighting. I support Daikel 999 for speaking out against this crappy anime. Don't watch it, you'll thank me some day.

Summary: Another great anime film from the mastermind, Miyazaki
Review: I finally got to watch "Princess Mononoke" on DVD. I was blown away!!! What can you say about Miyazaki that hasn't already been said? Beautiful, breathtaking, fantastic, wonderous... etc!!! I hope there are many more such films coming from the pen of this visionary of film. It is a must see for all fans of Japanime and especially of Miyazaki.

Summary: Captain planet, he's our hero, gonna take pollution down...
Review: Please! Stop flinging me eco-babble disguised as entertainment for once!! This is perhaps the definition of an overrated disc and in my opininon is very offensive. Parents be warned; while the rating of the movie is pg-13, it clearly deserves an R (unless you think decapitations and bloody regurgitations are peachy for junior). And seriously, who do these asians think they are feeding me and my children their filthy paganism? Pig gods? Umm... no. Pigs are representative of satan, but thanks for trying, you devil-worshippers. Luckily I was able to stop the "movie" before my children suffered too much, but I had to take them to church afterwards, just in case. Don't be fooled; this yet another sad conspirator in today's "entertainment" biz, less intent on positive, constructive morals than on cheap (yet profitable)corruption of our nation.

Summary: Princess Mononoke: A must see
Review: What an amazing movie with great anime! Princess Mononoke was one of the greatest movies ever and it would have been even better if it hadn't been so violent. Despite the made up creatures, this movie was really realistic. I could see something like this happening in real life; humans fighting amlessly. Yeah, I could see that. Man, I hope that doesn't happen. Well, the creatures in this movie are pretty cool; giant wolves, gods, demons, and battle boars. What a movie! Anyone twelve or older must see this movie.

Summary: magical but not memorable
Review: like his other films, miyazaki presents a new and unique story with outstanding visual components. the gods and demons, the spirits and monsters really succeed in capturing one's imagination. but instead of being enchanted and moved...i was scared, and disturbed. one can argue the human imagaination is limitless. but some things just don't make any sense. towards the end, the forest spirit becomes this big blob of a bubble, this greyish, bluish, speckled goo that kills anything it touches. the tree spirits are these mushroom like thingies that seem like they're high on drugs because of their abnormal wide, eyes and smile even when they are dying. one word- C R E E P Y. i dunno maybe you like this kinda anime, maybe you'll understand it. i mean, i got the point, the lesson is clear. but, ehh, think of a ugly boar with thousands of worms coming out of it's nose, eyes, and skin that could infest anybody. in this particular movie, i think the moments of awkwardness, weirdness, and unneccessary violence (cutting of of legs, arms, and heads suddenly) outnumbers the good things. i wouldn't watch it again. kudos to the scenery, music, and the lush, beautiful forest scenes. otherwise, watch spirited away a few more times instead.

Summary: Wow i like it
Review: What can i say about this movie hmm. Well. Ilike it cause IT IS GOOD. Cause constant violence has a contrast. Because animation is handdone hard work i respect that. Story is not corny. I consider artwork very original.
Sure movie has a fair moments of upclose gore and some gore in the backgound, but many infect a lot of anime use blood. This is one of them, its not ment for kids anywho.
Now back to nice parts, movie is very colorfull and generaly has a nice atmosphere. Animation is well done and like i said i like hard handwork true work of art. Not like some movies that abuse 3d with drawing which starts to ba alittle trend nowadays.
Story is about a boy who kills some king bore big very big pig. It passes a desease on his hand so he goes of to find a cure before it consumes his brain kind of like cancer only this black thing on his hand will make him visious in a fight in the begginign when he goes to a journey and horsemen atack him his hand goes all messed up and his arrow took one horsemens head of ouch. On his travel he comes toa village and it is attcked by Mononoke girl who is against the vilagge which looks like a factory. Old fashioned nature versus techno i like that. Boy gets tangled in this "ittle"war. thats what basicly happened but there is more to movie than that old search for cure and save the forest morale. rent find out and dont be surpeised when in the beginign you will see an arrow go down in the pigs eye MHAHAHAAH BLOOD!!!just kidding(>_<)
