Summary: Pure cinema magic...
Review: Not since the first Jurassic Park had I had such a wonderful moviegoing experience. Movies like this define what the term "movie magic" is all about. Absolutely every aspect of this movie comes together wonderfully in one of the best summer movies of the last 10 years. Although based on a Disney ride of the same name, it's totally original and even raises the cliche of the action to new heights. You've never seen a movie like this before. To those who bash it, I'd recommend they watch it again. It's nothing more than entertainment, so please throw your premonitions on what you think it should be out the window and you'll have a wild time with it.I'll definitely purchase this DVD when it comes out and am looking forward to the sequel. By the way, everything you've heard about Johnny Depp's performance is true. He took the Jack Sparrow character and made him into one of the most memorable heroes (or anti-hero) in movie history. Give this man an Oscar, dammit. If you take Pirates of the Carribean and Once Upon a Time in Mexico into account, 2003 was Depp's year and he should be recognized.

Summary: Best Movie of the Decade!
Review: OMG! This is the best movie I have ever seen! Everything was perfect, Johnny Depp made it what it is though, he totally rocked!!! And even under that thick eye-liner he is still the hottest guy on earth!!! The character was so brilliantly laid out, the way he walked, how his eyes got really big when he got to close to somthing or was surprised, the accent...everything! You have got to see this movie!!!I hope there is a sequal...

Summary: This movie will turn you into a kid again!
Review: For all those adults who watched all the Wonderful World of Color specials, this movie will bring it all back, even if you're starting to go senile. If you have not yet discovered Johnny Depp (shame on you!) this is the place to meet him. Not only is this movie interesting on the swashbuckler movie level, its also a slight parody of those perfect heroes and heroines we watched so long ago. Keira Knightly (of Bend It Like Beckham fame) and Orlando Bloom (Legolas in The Lord of the Rings trilogy) are the romantic heroes, and Johnny Depp is the drunken pirate who has to save their butts. There's laughs and thrills for everyone, little kids to senior citizens, and by the end of it you'll be wondering, "But WHY's the rum gone?"

Summary: Great Movie!!!
Review: I loved this movie! The acting, the scenery, the costumes, the action - I can't say enough! Johnny Depp was amazing as Captain Jack Sparrow. I can't count how many times his character alone had me laughing. And sorry, but even with the grungy beard and all, he was still hot! Orlando Bloom was endearing as Will. He was such a sweetheart. A sweetheart with a very impressive sword arm but a sweetheart nonetheless. Those two pieces of "eye candy" would have been enough for me to give the movie at least a 3 and 1/2 star rating. Keira Knightley was great, too. This was the first time I had heard of this young actress and was impressed with what I saw.
I was going to take my two oldest children, ages 8 and 6, to see this film but decided against it at the last minute because I thought that the scenes of the "ghostly crew" would be too scary for them. I now wish I would've taken them because although the special effects were dynamic - I don't think any of the scenes shown would have kept the kiddies awake at night, clutching the bedsheets, while waiting for the "scary pirate monsters" to jump out of the closet. : P
I can't wait for the dvd to come out - this movie is a great and entertaining film that the whole family can enjoy watching together!

Review: If you're into family movies than this one will probably be in your top 5 favorite. When I first saw the preview for it it was definitely at the top of my must-see list, that was until I heard it was being made by Disney. Disney movies are known to be PG-rated, although this is rated PG-13 it still seems like a PG movie with all the "family-fun humor" in it. Personally I'm not into these type movies to be honest because I like guy stuff and this is kiddy crap, that's why I give it one star. So guys, be a man and don't buy this kids stuff.

Review: This movie is THE BEST MOVIE EVER! I love it sooo much! It is my favorite movie of all time, and Gore Verbenski ( the director), is my new fav, director, Johnny Depp ( Jack Sparrow) is my fav, actor, and like I said Pirates of the Caribbean is my fav. movie!! You are missing out on sooo much if you have not seen it, and i m sure everyone else would agree with me. Not only I loved it, but my 70 year old grandma loves it too! So believe me when I say this movie is not only for kids my age, but for all around!

Summary: Well, I Don't Know.....
Review: It's an OK watch. But IMHO Johnny Depp's accent wavers somewhere around drunken slur. He's usually a pretty reliable actor, but his characterterization here seems an attempt to create a sympathetic, humorous hero that doesn't quite seem to ever gel into a well-defined person. The edges are all soft and in motion. Geoffrey Rush's character on the other hand steals the show. Rush, as usual, has a well defined, if in this case over the top, characterization with all the edges nicely sharpended. Just my opinion. Make up your own mind.

Review: This movie was excellent!It had the right amount of everything, from plot & humor to action.I hope that a sequel is in the works,and that His Majesty's Royal Highland Regiment("The BlackWatch")is included.Fun for the whole family!
