Summary: Excelent Movie
Review: This adaptation may well be the closest any film maker has ever gotten to capturing the alluring beauty of J.M. Barrie's original story. The film is absolutely fantastical and captivating. It all begins with a classic Peter Pan beginning, but with new technology and a director that stayed so true to the book it was absolutely worth every penny. The emotional bond that builds through several of the characters throughout the film is wonderful, enchanting and you feel like you may as well have been one of the lost boys yourself. It ends not as happily ever after as Disney would have made it but it certainly touches your heart and you feel for Peter Pan as every child has at some point of their life.
This film was remarkably cast with Jason Isaacs as both Captain Hook and Mr. Darling. No one could have done or played the part more convincingly. Mrs. Darling is captivating. Peter splendid and Wendy is as wondrous as she was always meant to be. I highly recommend this movie for a family outing, the violence is rather mild and only meant in a humorous way rather then mindless. It's moral nothing to be embarrassed about when seen with small children.

Worth all five stars.

Review: We didn't see it in the Movie Theater... so we decided to buy it... WE'VE WATCHED IT 7 OR 8 TIMES SO FAR!!!!!

IT IS THE BEST VERSION OF PETER PAN EVER! The CGI work in the film is AWESOME!!! The music is BEAUTIFUL! The characters are ROCKAGE!!! AND IT IS SOOOOOOO WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY LIKE THE BOOK! It's just WOW!

Do not mistake this movie for a Disney Film... Disney would've killed it... UNIVERSAL ALL THE WAY!!
If You haven't bought/rented/viewed it... YOU SHOULD!!

Summary: A disappointing "kids" movie
Review: Because of some enthusiastic reviews, I decided to give this a try-what a mistake! This is definitely a "kids" movie and not a "family" movie. Much too frightening and violent for young children-would probably appeal best to older children and younger teenagers. As an adult, this did not hold my interest. I found the pace unbalanced, the special effects unimpressive, and the content very lacking. Much prefer the televised version which aired in the 60's!

Summary: A feast for the imagination
Review: This is the best showing of Peter Pan I have ever seen. It's a feast for the eyes and imagination. The story, special effects and music compilation captivates both young and old. A classic story told as never been told before. A must have for your movie collection!

Summary: An Adventure for all ages
Review: I didn't expect much from Peter Pan, I figured if you seen one you've them all. That's not the case here though. Sure it has all the same plot details as the other movies but this one adds an attraction between Peter and Wendy. Jeremy Sumpter (Frailty) and Rachel Hurd-Wood "in her first role" are well casted as Peter and Wendy. They both have really good chemestry. Sumpter completely nails the role of Peter. He's afraid of growing up and enjoys being a kid a lot yet there's still a sadness to him. He's lonely and wants to be with Wendy but without speaking of love and feelings. Anyway him and Wood are great in their roles and it's the best acting I've seen from young actors in awhile.

Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets) is equally good as Captain Hook. He plays the part more serious and scary than Dennis Hoffman did in Hook. Isaacs clearly wants to kill Peter and is ruthless and deadly. The Neverland scenery looks a lot better than it did in Hook too. Peter Pan has fantasy, adventure and romance and is great for the whole family. It can seem dark but no kids die like in Hook where Rufio dies. It can be violent but it never over does it. It's a really good movie and deserved more of an audience than it got while in theatres.

Summary: I LOVE PETER PAN OMG!!!!
Review: Oh my gosh, I love this movie!!! Jeremy Sumpter is so hott!!! I've always liked the srory of Peter Pan but I never thought I would be so into it. Jeremy Sumpter makes the movie come alive. He is so inspiring I've always wanted to be a model and he was one and we have so much in common. Even though I have never met him I still wish to do so. I love this movie I want to win the autographed DVD of his movie Peter Pan. I hope to someday meet this 15 year-old wonder. Even though I'm only 14 I don't think it's a big deal. I love him so much and I'm not upsessed I just love his movies and his personality and intrests. I will always watch this movie when I but two copies and tell everyone how great this movie is.

Summary: AMAZING!! The best version ever!!
Review: I have been a fan of Peter Pan my entire life. Some of my earliest memories are of watching Mary Martin play Peter in the ledgendary tv version from 1960. I also own the Disney cartoon version (which is boring in comparison to this one), and i'm one of the only people in the world who loved the movie Hook. So, I have pretty high standards when it comes to this story. I havr to admit, I wasn't expecting much after reading mixed reviews, but I was BLOWN AWAY!!!!
I don't even know where to begin..Jeremy Sumpter is absolutely ADORABLE and is perfect for the role of Peter. You can really see his cockiness in the begining of the movie, but then you see his fears and insecurities as the movie progresses. Rachel is astounding as Wendy. She plays up the conflict Wendy has: Wanting to stay a child, but, then she falls for Peter and realizes what she would miss by not growing up. The chemistry between these two is really something. I LOVE When Wendy turns to look back in the nurdery before she flies away, and Peter comes up behind her and whispers, "we'll never have to worry about grown-up things again!" This is the only version where you really see Peter and Wendy falling in love.

I wondered how the scene with Tinkerbell's death would be handled. Would Peter turn to the audience and ask them to clap? That wouldn't fit in with this version. Instead, we simply have Peter (along with Wendy and the Lost Boys )chanting, "I DO believe in faeries! I DO! I do!" over and over again, with children from around the countye joining in, and it is really effective.

I could ramble on and on about this movie, but, I'll just wra pthis up by saying, everyonbe should see this!! As if the movie wasn't great, there are some very interesting extras too!! What are you waiting for? Buyt this movie NOW!!!

Summary: A BETTER PETER PAN THAN ALL THE MUSICALS COMBINED
Review: I PURCHASED THIS YESTERDAY WITH THE LAST SAMURAI, AND BOY WAS I EVER ASTOUNDED! I'VE SEEN THEM ALL ON TV, DVD, AND ON STAGE, BUT THIS TAKE AS DIRECTED MY JP HOGAN, MAY VERY WELL RANK WITH THE VERY BEST, IF NOT THE BEST! PETER, WENDY, CAPT. HOOK, ARE ALL ACTED WITH SUCH PANACHE AND NATURALISM, YOU REALLY BELIEVE PETER IS REALLY STILL COMING TO OUR CHILDRENS WINDOWS. IT IS SPECTACULAR TO WATCH, BEAUTIFUL TO BEHOLD, AND WONDERFUL TO STILL FEEL THAT MAGIC THAT JM BARRIE WROTE SO MANY YEARS AGO. A REAL MASTERPIECE ON DVD IT OUTSHINES MOST OTHER RELEASES SO FAR, THIS YEAR. GET IT BEFORE THE SHELVES ARE PICKED CLEAN, YOU WILL NOT IN ANY WAY BE LET DOWN!

Summary: Bought for my little brother..Now in my Collection!
Review: I didn't see it in theater, but I heard good things about it from critics and viewers alike. I enjoyed this film way more than I thought possible for a nineteen-year-old male. The visual effects are colorful and cartoony which really adds a magical dimension to the film. All the acting is cutesy at times, but for the most part very good. Jason Isaacs is great as Captain Hook and doesn't play him too over the top as Dustin Hoffman did in "Hook." The guy who plays Smee was very funny as well (the scene with the old peg-leg bird screaming in his ear always makes me laugh). This is a great film for the whole family even though it is a bit dark at times, such as, the demonic mermaids and Hook shooting his fellow pirates constantly. The soundtrack was very well done as well, and adds the finishing touch of magical feel to this truly accurate adaptation of Peter Pan.

Summary: GreatDirector + ClassicStory + $100Mil. Budget = Masterpiece
Review: I saw this film in the theater and was unmoved by it. I couldn't hear much of the quick, accented dialogue and didn't appreciate its faithfulness to Barrie's classic story.

I just saw it for the second time on DVD and was blown away. This is a VERY, VERY well-made motion picture. In my second viewing, I saw levels of meaning in the story and nuances to the performances that I hadn't realized were there. PJ Hogan's direction is masterful. He captures the magic of Neverland and the sadness of Peter's final decision in a way that has not been done before.

The visual effects and cinematography (especially the use of color) are mesmerizing. The acting by both the kids and adults is terrific. Jeremy Sumpter has the pivotal role - the weight of the film rests on his shoulders. That is a lot of pressure on a 12-year-old but Sumpter handles it admirably. The British kids (Wendy, John, Michael(stand-out performance), and the Lost Boys) are so good in their roles that it seems almost effortless. Jason Isaacs proves yet again why he is a coveted actor.

PJ Hogan's "Peter Pan" is a classic in the making. Young or old, this film is guaranteed to leave you with a great, big smile.

One piece of advice: watch this one time with SUBTITLES on. A lot of the funniest lines are really quick, heavily accented or are in the background. Seeing it all will double your enjoyment.

BUY, IF YOU ENJOYED:
Lord of the Rings
The Sandlot
Goonies
any skillfully-made film.
